Let's Overanalyze Morrowind playlist ---- ua-cam.com/play/PLEW6B0gutYyele2teGkmVpf6HW-_wovWq.html Video is slowly processing so please allow some time for higher resolution. Today I talk about a non-ordinary ordinary family, it's sort of a continuation on general NPC discussion I had in a previous video "Top 10 Favorite NPCs". I made a small mistake at 12:14 saying that Methulu stands outside, when in fact she stands inside the shrine. I confused her with Dinuro :) Thanks for watching and see you with a new video soon!
"Ienith Ancestral Tomb is a medium-sized tomb in the Grazelands northeast of Falensarano. It can be found by heading to Falensarano and then north and a bit east until you find the Dissapla Mine. From there, head east and you should quickly find the tomb. There are four undead here. The loot is a few potions, some minor equipment, some ingredients and an apprentice's lockpick." -UESP I like to believe that the lockpick would be placed on the grave of an accomplished thief. Crime must have been the family trade for generations.
That's funny, I was just looking at Ienith family members on the UESP a few months ago. It never even registered that there's totally a Ienith family member in Skyrim. Blows my mind! 🤯
When I found out about Aranea I knew I had to make a video lol. She even talks about coming from Morrowind and being a "capable sorcerer" before becoming a follower of Azura. I thought she could be one of the Ieniths found in Morrowind intitially, but I don't think anyone fits the role. Although later I remembered that Erandur (a Dunmer priest of Mara) changed his name from Casimir after the conversion, so it's not unusual for Dunmer to change names and identity after changing their religious beliefs. So Aranea could also have different name in Morrowind.
@@boreanknight Very true, she could have changed her name. Or like you said, she could be on the mainland. It would be neat to see Aranea show up in one of the Tamriel Rebuilt expansions or just in a mod!
@@SandGentleman I also thought about havig Aranea in TR, perhaps in future releases. Would be a very fun character to meet, conflicted about her faith, talented sorcerer etc.
I can't remember what skill it was, but it was the half flooded shrine somewhere above Tal Mora. There is a hostile NPC that is master trainer for some magic skill i think and i remember clearing the dungeon and then reading on wiki his name and it instantly clicked in my head And i knew i had to lose like two hrs of progress just to go back and have my skills trained 😂, unaliving everyone in the process ( again), but leaving my newfound friend alive. In the cave. Alone. Forever.
I figure common last names would be more indicative of a "Smith" situation where they aren't related, but the name has been taken up but many unrelated people, especially since mention of multiple children/siblings is usually limited to one. Ienith could still be one family since they have a pattern in how they live, but say Dren and Sarethi, seem random.
This reminds me of when i was doing the pilgrim quest and walking just south of Gnisis. There you can find the Veloth family tomb, and like. Veloth? That Veloth?! Its not even an interesting or long tomb. Either there's some downplaying of St.Veloth i didn't catch in the lore or its a different Veloth. And now i'm imagining a guy with the last name Christ lol.
I actually like this idea. That's what I always wondered too because I've been playing this game for 20 years now and I sometimes wonder is every Dunmer with those names related necessarily because in real life like many people have the last name Smith and Johnson for example. But I know Dunmer culture in the game universe definitely means they are related after seeing this video.
Well, in my current playthrough i have just killed half their family... stuff happens... but interesting video ^^ i like the depth to morrowinds underlying worldbuilding

This is the kind of lore videos I like. About the places and npc's in the games.

They were such hard criminals, that to enter the afterlife, they needed to pick the lock keeping them out.

Point being that i loved named NPC's 😂
It was a dunmer stronghold and the enchant master trainer is hostile there. You need to cast a calm spell on him to access his services.
*Insert Dooku I have been looking forward to this meme*
Great content as always 👑
I really enjoyed this video! I had no idea about the Ienith family!
"Boderia Ienith" can be found in ESO. She seems to be the only Ienith in that game.
Nice find, Ieniths go all the way back.
I am so glad I have an enchanted bracer that calms NPCs.
6:06 Small correction: *'nammu'* means 'no-name,' so it may be that *'pu'* means 'cave,' or maybe even something like 'place of.'

The Redoran guards in Maar gan do skooma.
Loved this.
Inb4 Lenith is just the dunmer version of Smith and there's like 20 unrelated Lenith families.
What is the music that plays in the intro
Morrowind Music Overdose - Better Life (there are 4 albums, this is a track 1 from the 4th album)
