Parkour Expert & Pro Climber on Jumps with Consequence

- @tobysegar from @STORROR challenges Pete to some jumps out on the Gritstone rocks in the Peak District.
The jump is the gap between Fern Hill at Cratcliffe.
Toby then takes on a second jump and completes what we think might be a first ascent jump. It's still waiting for a ropeless ascent!!

Topped off another great day. Thanks again gents, and another congrats for bridge boys 🙌
That was fun to watch.
Nice to know even pro parkour athletes run and jump over small things while yelling parkour.
facts hahahaha that cracked (no pun intended) me up
ya theyre pretty stupid
Was so funny! =)
Oh hey, budget Adam Ondra in the chat!
UA-cam search - Reeves and Mortimer, free running.
Trust me, you'll love it.
"This whole rope noncense" is my favourite quote from this, I hope it does open some doors for Parkour! Stay safe!
Interestingly, the storror lads have been using chalk for a little while now, ant pretty sure they used a rope on the video with the slide recently.
@@mw5360 yeah they used a rope but it wasn’t like this where they was attached using a harness
at the very least it could be used in preps to help clear nerves and test a spot. its not like storror does too many consequence jumps anyway other than over water and stuff. they are a lot more about the craft and the quality than the shock factor of death gaps. that was more their old content. though if they like a spot and want to do it they will do it regardless. but they dont specifically search for danger they search for good parkour.
Toby fits right into the WideBoyz team. You are mental! 🤣🤘🤩.
Can Toby just be Wide Boy #3 already?
#4 counting Mari in.
For real I don't watch wide boys video but when I see a Toby feature I watch that straight away haha
He can once he puts the requisite time in the basement 😎
I was thinking more along the line of creating a "Crack-Cour-Fest 2022" in that area ... or maybe with some Wide Boyz walls in a more urban area (maybe with a nice bridge crack over a canal?).
Both sports are niche, but they can synergise together to give the body a more well-rounded use of its muscles.
So to recap you basically promised us to new videos: teaching Pete to front summer saults and getting all of storror to the peak district for a spot of parkour training in the rocks. I'm totally on bord!
I have to learn to front somersault when next with Toby
Another great video with Toby, you guys have great chemistry. Hope to see more projects going forward! Make Pete test out his parkour skills even further and see if Tom can finally land that wall spin.
Pete running along some rocks shouting "parkour" made my day.
It was Toby shouting 😂😂
@@sessionmediaa I thought I heard both of them! Toby shouting it made my day too 😂
@@aarongarrett4184 Ahhhh could well have sorry! I just love the fact Toby did 😂
I love pete. He always humbling with his cheeky smiles although he has quite a record of what he can and had achieved.
I think here in Sächsische Schweiz near Dresden there is a sport of jumping between the sandstone towers. As well as obviously the sketchy trad Tom and Pete have tried. You two could probably have fun here and Toby could also do some of the weird local trad without metal protection because it’s not all deathy
We've already told Toby about those tower jumps. Just planting the seed for him, so we can watch some cool Storror videos
There is a long tradition of it in Saxony and in Czech Republic too. Some of those jumps are really hardcore.
@@stepanovonemecko2488 Yeh really hardcore. A much stronger climber than me recently took me out to try crack climbing and even some off width. At the top of one he pointed out a massive downward jump to the tower we were on. I don’t even see how one would take the impact of a successful jump if they made the distance. Intense stuff
@@andrewhunter6536 Yeah. I'm from Czech Republic and I'm climbing Sandstone towers a lot. This year I started to jump, but I'm still amazed by some jumps that I saw. I'm still jumping just to grade II or III.
A few years back a friend took me to do Turnerweg where there is an option to do a grad I jump at the end. He didn’t say a word before and being very experienced in leading he just jumped it and left me on the other side to follow. Scary as hell. After doing it he showed me grad II and III. No thank you 😂
Btw nice to read that there are more people from Elbsandstein area here as well 👋
You guys are insane!😅 I love the colabs. Keep up the great work!
I love Toby taking time to mention "the right headspace" and "if the boys were here".
man 10 minutes of smiling from ear to ear, only wish it was a longer episode!
Think this is a first move on the climbarkour, hats off gentlemen
Yees mate, Toby please teach Pete how to do a front flip! That would be bloody amazing!
Having found Storror in early 2022 when they're mostly just doing brilliant ground level stuff, it's wild seeing the skyscraper, university ledge climbs and 230 metre high wire walks in Moldova they used to do, all without safety ropes.
Especially considering how normal, caring, rounded and thoughtful they all are, especially Toby. Stay safe guys; your personalities are what we click for.
What a great guest appearance
I wanna see wide Boyz collaborate with Storror.
Would be exciting to see
I don't know much about parkour, but Toby spotting Pete on his jump was super wholesome
I just realized Toby's plan. He wants to bring parkour to nature. AND I'M HERE FOR IT! i learned parkour in Alaska, jumping around tidal pools and fell trees in forest trenches. This is so cool. A thing my mom did was running log jams. Which is just a water challenge over 12 foot piles of logs on frigid water. She knows a lot of dead people.
Weird i never knew parkour but just did it cause that was fun for kids in Alaska. Height drops, precision jumps to shaky lands. Swings from branches to boulders. Even wall runs off trees to reach a branch. Nature parkour was the original parkour.
I always enjoy the almost complete lack of 'macho' nonsense while you guys are doing seriously challenging athletic feats. You normalise being scared of things we would all be scared of AND you demonstrate that it does not require lots of chest thumping BS to overcome that fear with excellence and good judgement. If I had sons I would be watching you guys, Storror, Dom, Magnus with my sons hoping they would learn how to be wise and brave and emotionally real at the same time. Maybe I will learn the same thing from watching...
I wish you well in life mate, truly wonderful comment.
What about daughters?
@@nicks22 rather than taking shots at me for not writing a comprehensive essay how about making YOUR OWN gender diverse positive comment.
@@mikelazure7462 ok karen
@@nicks22 You're obviously someone who takes things personally and doesn't understand the concept of "goes without saying". Get upset when someone doesn't say what you wanted them to because there are no real problems in your life. The definition of a Karen, really.
I love the collabs with toby
I can't wait to watch this, love this series. But I wanted to post to say great work on Bridge Boys! Loved your entry to RR16.
Toby, Magnus and Pete should make an indoor rock climbing video together.
Another fantastic episode with Toby! Keep them coming!
Love seeing these moments with Toby, honestly so much respect for the man.
thank you Wide boyz for putting out these great videos
Boyz, Ive watched your RR16 movie! Massive. If you werent there RR16 would be boring! Loved it! Great job you 2! 💪💪💪
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Such a fun film to make with the RR team, and brutal project 😅
@@WideBoyz I cant even imagine how hard that must have been. Btw you dont like pizza that much no more, right? 🤣🙉
Telling solely from yt, I reckon that Pete‘s probably the most relaxed person ever.
Loving the total lack of ego in this vid with regards to jumping onto that ledge. Nice to see that even the pros can be nervous around heights (no matter how easy) and taking safety precautions.
Such a brilliant colab. Toby and Pete are such inspiring individuals . Top film boys
That ledge looks horrifying on camera, I'd be super afraid of overcommitting and bouncing backwards from the wall
Incredible, more of this please!
Awesome Toby smashes it every time
Loving these collabs. Long time Storror watcher and found you through these 👍
Watching Pete jump that gap was scary!!😫was like watching Storror for the first time !!! makes ya toe’s curl and palms sweat !!!! Love the Toby ledge jump and colab 🤗Great video !!
I love these collabs, it's my favorite intersection of youtube. Thanks for introducing more people to Toby and getting parkour some exposure and respect in the climbing world! Now to get the rest of the team out for the ultimate cross training video haha.
I have a plan in my head for a full collab...wonder if they will take me up on the offer ;)
Loving this series!
Pete and Toby, you make a great climbing and Parkour pair.
Great vid! Nice to see Toby.
saving this for later, really looking forward to it.
Parkour and climbing gel together so well. I think Parkour and animal movements play a huge part in modern indoor comp climbing!! Pete is pure grab the bull by the horns type guy.... Gives everything 100%
Amazing collab! Love the rock jumping!
Toby needs to bring some of the Storror boys on next time. Such a great crossover
I haven't seen Toby in 11 years (since 'Tell em man'), glad to see he's still training and doing well. This was great!
Man that be so crazy to see the storror army trying out rockclimbing!
Next time on Wide Boyz: Pete sends Manpower.
Absolutely AWESOME pete and toby :)
I’m a climber. Awesome to see sharing of climbing and parkour skills. Some bravery on display here!
Rarely comment - but gotta say this is an awesome collab
Sick video. Make them longer! Wanna see more of this content
Insane content! LOVE IT!
Toby you are crazy bruv, You should do that type of parkour more often. That was dope :)
that was awesome, more please!
Fantastic, I've trained there a few times and actually considered this jump to the ledge. I've only ever trained there alone so never felt up to it, but the backup plan for me in the event of a bounce back was always going to be the arm jump back to the edge you start from. Great to see you guys and Toby somewhere local. (I also proposed to my now Wife at Robin Hood's Stride, too!)
Nature parkour is my absolute favourite! Knowing you're the first and WAY More variability!
I'm not really afraid of heights anymore after doing some rather challenging events in a high school class called "Team Concepts." I had to lose that fear because every day involved stuff like: climbing from the gym floor to the rafters (about 3-1/2 stories) on an extension ladder, doing a "dangling duo" (4×4s strung up 20-25 feet at different distances) with a partner, jumping from the rafters to a trapeze (and the only way down was to let go and the teacher would let us fall about 80% of the way before locking up the belay), and all sorts of other crazy stuff. It helped me gain a lot of confidence in myself and working with others.
But even though I'm not particularly scared of heights, the thought of jumping onto that little shelf over the top of a 5 story deep gap with basically no prep and a single tie-off is something different. It literally made my palms swear just watching the prep for it.
Best collab ever! ❤️
We need more parkour videos with Toby, make the flip thing happen!!!!
Amazing to watch and must had been a good experience for you. Toby Toby Toby
This is a great collab!
The wisdom to drop that knee on the roll. Damn.
Toby and Pete - the best combo! :)
Awesome!
A wonderful and beautiful parkour for sharing.
These crossovers are great!
Reminds me of the rope jump sections on The Sharp End; definitely get out there and get that stuff done too.
Honestly, so sick. I want to start learning climbing just for finding challenges like this!
great work👍👍
Storror making an episode doing parkour in nature rather than a city would be sick.
Nice vid. Dom Tomato is the man when it comes to death jumps.
So sick!
I can only imagine what Toby and his friends would do in a ski park.
great video, thanks
Nicely done, Toby
WE NEED MOAR!
I love the segar crossover. This guy is such a legend holy shit
absolutely mad content 🔥
Toby needs to be the 3rd wide boy for sure!!! Y’all need to get Magnus to do some parkour, maybe a comp with Pete lol
Love the vids lads, I think it could be really interesting to see Toby put on some modern dyamic parkour style boulder problems. I wonder how a pro parkour practitioner fairs against some high level dynamic boulder probs
So when is Pete gonna show up on Storror and sesh with the boys!?!?
Brilliant
Wow!
You know that sandstone climbers have grades for jumps (from tower to another)
My palms were sweating watching you do that jump Toby.
*¡Grandioso salto!*
Surprise Surprise this pops up in the days of me mentally preparing for some gaps with consequence. Thanks universe!
I have done the Cratcliffe one back when I was young.
That was a quality stick.
I've never done parkour, but have been jumping gaps with low consequences whenever I had the chance while going outdoors or bouldering. Seeing this makes me want to try it out. I know I can jump pretty far, but I don't know if I could deal with the mental part of the consequences if I slip. I'd be more scared of slipping than not clearing the gap ^^
Edit: I'm talking about the first jump. There's no F-ing way I'd even consider doing any other stuff Toby tried!
On the bright side, if you did slip, you wouldn't have to deal with the mental part (or anything) anyway!
@@SirPeachyNietzsche I wouldn't, but can't say the same thing regarding the people I care about and I wouldn't put them through that. Also if I slipped and didn't die but stay paralysed it would be a worse outcome imo...
if you're not trying to stick on the edge you can just clear gaps and be very safe like he does on his first try
Loved the "Reeves and Mortimer free jumping" style mock parkour at the beginning.
"we'll jump over anyfin! Stairwells! Bollards! Curbs! It's bloody extreme!
The French think they're gonna have it all their own way!
...they probably are!" 😂
God that ledge looked slopey and damp. Felt nervous watching even with the rope.
Great collaboration, it would be wonderful IF possible to see Magnus, Pete, Toby, Dan Hipkiss and maybe the Stoltman Brothers doing something together. Climbing , perhaps Stone Lifting Scotland at The Gathering. Climbers have ( mostly ) great grip strength.
Insane
Absolutely love the crossover……….I’m always running around my gym (alien bloc Edinburgh) to the annoyance of the other patrons 😬🤪
Ps
Toby bring 🔥🔥🔥 as always 👏🏻👏🏻🏴
Having been to this exact spot pretty recently and stood on the edge of the same gulley as these guys, the video does not do justice to how nerve wracking looking over the edge of that drop is
it's certainly a little ways down!!
It's great to see athletes from differing disciplines pushing the limits and having such fun. I need a drink now to replace the fluids that leaked from my hands. God bless
Woah, intense!
As soon as it gets spicy: Gobby camera man gets distinctly less gobby! 😂😂😂
😂
Nice content 👍
What an idea
So good! I think Toby is ready to try the crack centipede??? hahaha maybe he can do a running pre into the top position of the centipede? Hahah great work as usual guys
Fun!
