    Hi Brian! I recently "stumbled" into the idea of assembling my own watches with purchased components. After receiving components to assemble two watches, I learned it was going to be important to understand how each of the components come together (not quite as straight forward as I had assumed). I am really appreciating the encounter of your "Making Custom Watches" series of videos. It is exactly what I think I needed 😃. Thank you for all of your effort in putting the videos and series together!

      I have several comments about it in comments across some of the videos, but yeah I had ordered a bunch in bulk a few years ago from a company called egoLogo, which has since gone out of business. They actually laser cut out of metal with an adhesive back and were based in Hong Kong.
      These days the best option is something like TinyLogo (can find on ebay and FB) and search for other companies that do electroplated nickel stickers.

  • @greggusan
    @greggusan 3 роки тому +1

    Thanks, watched several in your series and find them super helpful and inspiring. Definitely want to create my own dials as there is never a dials that nails exactly what I'm looking for. As for applying the logo, was wondering if you ever have problems with an applied logo fouling the hour hand? Is the logo thin enough, or do you have to be careful that it's above the arc of the hour hand? On a side note, I wonder if the 10/6 logo would look better on the bottom half the subdial instead of the top half? For balance perhaps.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  3 роки тому

      Good question. The logos are very thin, so usually not an issue, but in same situations it can interfere due if the post length on the hand is very small or non-existent and/or if the hand is pressed down too far. So it is something to be cautious about. As for where to put the logo, I’ve played around with a variety of locations. Each seems to have some pros and cons.

      Water and a qtip. Maybe a mild detergent, but that depends on the dial surface material. If you use anything beyond that it is likely to mess up the dial in some way...like rubbing alcohol, acetone, etc. Sometimes rodico can help get lingering adhesive off things, though that depends on what sort of adhesive it is. All told, it’s difficult to remove dial elements without mucking up a dial.
