So, if we go with your plan, it'd be the most cost effective for the US, but it will only benefit those minorities who have gotten off the welfare state. What happens to the people who haven't made it out. They're most likely not paying taxes anyway. They don't get ahead, or get anything out of it. What we need to do is dump a shit ton of money into education at schools that are failing, and educate people who came out of those failed schools. I have a son in law with a Master that was a teacher a very short while in inner city Philly. He was paid very little. His first week on the job he said his class only had 3 class books total. He said he brought it up to the schools administration, they told him he'd just have to deal with it. Since he and my daughter are both dems. I asked cause I thought I knew where it was going ..."I guess the higher ups are White right?" He said no, they were all Black. Needless to say he got another job where his education brought his salary he deserved. No longer in education, but that's where his true passion is.

So, let's say that the US Govt gave descendants of slavery 25K each as reparations. That's less than 1 Trillion. And, I'm not totally against it. Let's say you were forgiven any Federal Tax for years. Would it change anything? Without inner city minorities being able to get a good education, they'd waste that money probably within a few months. Do people in the Northern States have to pay taxes to pay for that. Within a generation from 1776 most Northern States abolished slavery. Most of the population in the US today didn't have anything to do, or have ancestors that were slaves. Will their taxes go up because of it? Okay, back to reparations: I think before any monetary reparations to people take place. We need an economy where even the most uneducated in society can maintain at least a job they can live with/ live on without other forms of social help. We need to invest in inner city education, get rid of the teachers unions, get educators that actually care if people learn how to read, write and do arithmetic. We need to have adult education classes for products of the inner city who are basically functioning illiterates to at least get a GED. Most people on welfare don't pay Federal Income Tax! In fact, if you make less than a certain amount a year you don't have to pay tax. I think that after education, then can we talk about monetary compensation, cause until then most likely it'll be blown.
