    Beautiful! Inspired me to loc my hair after watching both of your journeys. April will be my 2yr anniversary & it's the best hair decision for me & the spiritual journey I'm on! 🧚‍♂️🧚🏽‍♀️💫🦄💜🌻💜 for those being judgmental that she loc HER child's hair. Remember, most of your mothers relaxed your hair without your consent in addition to putting all sorts of protective styles that ended up takin your edges out. So please keep it moving with the negative energy & go stimulate your own follicles 💜🌻🦄💫🧚🏽‍♀️🧚‍♂️

    I was the kid that changed her mind about her locs! My mom let me do it once, but she relocked at around 8 years old and didn't let me take them out till I was 18. I enjoyed them for a few more years at under the booty length, but finally made the chance to chop them off on my own 2 years ago. I adored my locs, seeing your daughter reminds me of myself as a little girl! She'll be so happy for them during busy life periods. I'm definitely going to get mine back before I start a family

    My 16 year old keep changing her mind about keeping or cutting her hair. I told her to keep it until she graduates or cut her sides like I wish I did. Her hair is absolutely gorgeous!

    Both of you have gorgeous locs! And yes uniform all around is a better look and they locs in the front have a stronger foundation.

    TFS, I find your updates extremely validating and encouraging. There are so many similarities between you and your daughter's hair and ours that it's crazy 😅 I think the only real differences between our journeys and yours are the hair types we started out with. I was predominantly 4b, with 4c all in the back. She on the other hand was 4z all over (I say that as seriously as I possibly could). Her hair responded to none of the hair product lines I heard other 4cs swear by. In the end only warm water and raw shea butter was able to help when it came to detangling (go figure). I say all that to say - she started out with 15-22 inches of 4z hair and her tips are still not locked 25 months later. I'm 27 months in and my tips are also not locked. Because my locs are significantly bigger (I have 237 compared to her 648) I experienced significant bunching (which she never did). And oh boy the LINT!!! It doesn't bother her at all (although I had to enforce rules about her staying off the carpet; she used to be such a rugrat even well after her 5th birthday). I on the other hand have never found lint in my hair. I also have a theory that some of the 'lint' might be shed skin and hair bulbs because of the fast hair growth, compared to mine which grows so much slower. Not 100% sure, but it's my hunch. For pics of what her hair and mine looked like in the beginning and where we are now, check out our business IG handle @Oluomalocs.

    Love the way you did her hair, and I remember when you installed them so brave as it took so long. I really want Microlocs. Could you please do a video on locs and Christianity and your thoughts on this.😊

      Thank you! Christianity and locs... hmm I might have to think through that one. Thank you for offering the suggestion as a video topic. 💙

    When I use conditioner, it's always watered down in the container first. I don't notice and slippage or softening so maybe it's too watered down however I'm generally using condition because of the fragrance I fancy trying at the time.

    Interestingly I’ve had my SLs for 4 years and STILL have those soft curly ends. I started with 1-3 inches of hair (tapered and shaved cut). But I get lots of compliments on the look lol so I like it!

    Great video and job on your daughter's hair, very meticulous. I think with sisterlocks, the size of the locs don't have to be done that small in the front though many prefer it to be that small. There are women with the larger sized sisterlocks. My consultant asked me what size I preferred and how long I wanted to sit for my reties.

    Thank you for the update! I have 3C hair as well, and my roots are my biggest concern. I’m almost two years in, and it’s getting better; however, I felt your pain with the root issue. You and your daughter have beautiful locs 💚
    By the way, do you still sell the loc jewelry? I would love to purchase some as they are simple but lovely.

    Oil picks up lint very quickly! Only out oil on the scalp! When you oil on the locks...it will grab the lint! When playing...put a bonnet on her head.💜

    • @laurenlocd3180
      @laurenlocd3180 3 роки тому +1

      I don’t even put oil on my scalp anymore . I found that was the culprit of my scalp being dry and itchy . Now funny thing is my scalp isn’t dry nor itchy anymore . That’s crazy . I’m not even allergic to oil either .

    I have 3 B/C. I am 12 months in and my locs look identical to your daughter’s. My ends are still curly and the is frizz real. In your opinion and experience do you think loose ends and frizz are just going to be my normal. NM I should have watched longer before commenting

    Great video! I tried conditioner in my 4b/4c hair and it made my hair super soft and definitely started reversing the locking process. I only tried conditioner for a couple of weeks but stopped after that lol. Thankfully it wasn't long lasting.
    I combined my sisterlocks in the front as well bc they were so small. I started with over 600 and now have under 530. I'm 2 1/2 yrs and my ends aren't locked but they are beginning to so I think in the next yr they will be.

    • @Bindi_Marc
      @Bindi_Marc  3 роки тому

      Yeah, the rate of speed when it comes to maturing varies from head to head. It's kind of amazing how each head of hair has a different path to being fully locked.

      My loctician says for me not to use conditioner on my sisterlocks yet. I am almost 23 months into my journey and my hair is not fully locked.

      No different than you putting various types of hairstyles in your child's hair without her consent. Parents put relaxers in their young children hair (toxic chemicals) but you're concerned about locs?! I dont get it!

      Just like choosing to straighten her hair the kid will decide to take them off when she’s older not that serious you make it seem like it’s a bad hair style

    • @elizabrown124
      @elizabrown124 3 роки тому +9

      It’s the “and I don’t wanna hear oh they chose it or asked” lmaoooo what??? Are you saying children shouldn’t have locs?? Whether a child asks for it, or their parent chooses… a child can have locs. Other people’s kid’s hair is none of your concern.
