Resident Evil: Outbreak, known as Biohazard: Outbreak (バイオハザード アウトブレイク Baiohazādo Autobureiku) in Japan, is a survival-horror game released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 between 2003 and 2004. A sequel to the game known as Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 was released in 2005.
It was the first Resident Evil game with multiplayer capability, using the PlayStation 2's online network. Up to four players could participate simultaneously in one scenario; alternately, in single-player mode, the player is accompanied by two AI-controlled characters. Outbreak introduces the "virus gauge," which limits the amount of time players may spend on a scenario. The virus gauge rises at different rates for different characters, and increases rapidly if the character is attacked or crawling on the ground. The game lost all online play capabilities for the USA servers in 2007. The Japan servers stayed up but finally went down in July 2011.
The player chooses a scenario, difficulty level, and a character. The difficulty level is tied to what enemies and items the player encounters as they progress through the scenario. The game has five scenarios, each of which has an event checklist consisting of special actions that the player must perform to reach 100% completion. Upon doing so the player will unlock "Infinity Mode" in which all the player's weapons never break or run out of ammunition.
Each scenario also has "SP" items. These are invisible items hidden throughout the level, and are randomly generated on two paths. There are twenty scenario items for each scenario, and twenty items specific to each character hidden across the five scenarios. If acquired, these items unlock new costumes and the option to listen to their ad-libs.
Players could connect to the internet servers using a broadband connection and a network adapter. Account registration and login were required. Once players connected and logged in, they could then choose between Free Mode and Scenario Mode. Free Mode took place in a lobby and allowed players to create their own games, scenarios, and difficulty level. Scenario Mode would choose the scenario and players automatically. When a player first started online, they would begin on the "Outbreak" scenario and progress from there. If the player wished to stop playing, they could save their data and start off from the scenario they were up to at the time. If the player had beaten a scenario, they acquired a star by their name. On December 31, 2007, Capcom shut down the US servers for Outbreak and on June 30, 2011, for the JP servers.

I always found Cindy's bunny outfit charming.

His 9mm are useless against Thanatos, only a waitress with a knife can defeat him twice.
Gotta love videogame logic. 🤣
Long waited for this one!
I'm tellin' y'all. If Capcom gave us an updated version of this instead of Resistance, I would've been in love all over again. But nah. They done fucked up, like they always do.
I liked Resistance. Also, stop trying to place blame on a game that was literally just an additional mode (it was never meant to be a full game like Outbreak was, hence why it's LITERALLY considered an additional mode for RE3 and was handled by an entirely different team). In all honesty, Outbreak was handled poorly from the start. I love it but it has glaring issues like how it was all supposed to be one game and how 8 scenarios were cut. I love Outbreak and am currently playing it now, but y'all need to stop blaming Resistance because y'all look stupid as fuck when y'all do. Also, Outbreak sold very poorly and if Capcom "only listened to fans" (They do) like y'all bitch about, they would be doing the right thing by fans on not releasing it (which is why anyone who uses this argument deserves to be laughed at because it's so inconsistent and inaccurate). Shut up, thanks.
@@revenge3265 Outbreak was released when no one had internet connection... The thing is, RE: Outbreak was supposed to be played with friends using internet, and the co-op mode is and was very satisfying. The single player mode was.. not really enticing. Resistance is indeed only an additional mode. My gripe with RE3 remake is the price when it's released with only very short content.. instead of making it like RE3 original, it added Resistance... which should be a separate game. I bet the dev knew or the publisher was cutting corners.. Resistance was only afterthought...but well, people would buy it anyway because they slapped the "resident evil" name...
@@nonameunknown123 The single player mode is fine actually...
I've long awaited for this! Thank you Sai! :)
You are the man without your guide and your video that you worked very hard on I would never get 100% on this game I just finished getting 100% on the checklist all scenarios and 160 special items with every character thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great run!
love Cindy
I have to say that Cindy is my most favourite character and I like her costumes.
Out of every resident evil game?
On hellfire he didn’t need to go back to the room with a zombie and the handgun rounds. In the security office there are handgun rounds on the floor across from the shotgun. Very good Playthru.
Here i am again.
Iuuuuuuhuuuuul amazing gameplay Man.
Thanks for bringing this up tô us!!!
Love your videos! They are really underrated. Keep it up! Love how it’s kind of in movie-form as well!
Excellent!
Ok cindy
I remember being sooooo terrified of this game!! Just wish they kept the online play :( I'd love another R.E game like this that's actually online... with zombie games I'm too scared to play on my own xd
I did not know you could barricade the door at J’s bar, also tricking the zombie to open the shutter! Just shows how great this game was. I think the game mechanics are so neat and I don’t really need advanced and realistic interactions like we have today, for example the invincibility frames when you climb something or enemies can’t attack you on top of something unless it’s a special enemy, the classic RE aim and shoot gameplay, just everything is perfection and is used as a strategy. Just perfection, this game was ahead of its time.
The GOAT
Well done.
Only in RE universe when you can defeat hulk busting monsters by a part time waitress with a freaking folding knife
In other franchises, Cindy would have been one of the first to die. Here, she can survive and dish out chops at the same time.

Lmao, Cindy’s reaction was perfect!!
❤❤❤SINDY❤❤❤
I remember playing this at computershop 😭😭
Love your videos and also say that Resident Evil Outbreak is my favourite game. Who's your favourite character to play? Mine is Cindy, the fact that she can carry medicinal herbs it's a great help to have more inventary space xd
Excelente. Lo acelere por 2 jeje ❤️❤️
Subscribed ! Finally someone that uses a costume instead of always the boring standard outfit love the content
Adoro esse jogo principalmente com a CINDY
Where can I get the game running for PC???
Thanks for uploading these. Im curious why you chose the characters you did for certain scenarios. Is it ...
*Outbreak* - starts in J's Bar. *Cindy* is a waitress
*Below Freezing Point* - *Yoko* has some affiliation or connection with Umbrella
*The Hive* - takes place in Raccoon Hospital so *George* the doctor seems appropriate
*Hellfire* - well aince *David* is a master of the custodial arts or just a plumber i guess thats fitting for the Apple Inn
Actually every character is covered.
10 scenarios, 8 characters. Any of the characters works well enough on any given scenario. Ki tried to take little cues as far as who might fit best for each. Like on this "End Of The Road" level it does show David in the opening cutscenes so i always made sure he was on the team. Or similarly in "Decisions, Decisions" it shows George in what looks like the parking garage under RPD with a bunch of other survivors in which he reads a note from that Peter Jenkins from the University. But also if you play Yoko at the part where Greg has already unleashed Thanatos and you see him in the projector room he, much like Monica(Below Freezing Point) knows Yoko by name.
Anyways great videos though 👍 I wish i could've played Online.
Also kind of random, but of you e played RE2R you may notice on the desk on the west office on the first floor on the big deal there are little placards that have some of the of the names of the officer's from Outbreak like Rita, Harry, and a couple of the others, i think Kevin Ryman as well.
hi
can u tell me what the name of music at 0:27
and thanks
"Option Menu" from Resident Evil 3 (1998).
How to cut loading screen? Are you using mod or editing?
I edit them out so it is easier for viewers to watch.
Would you use the bot partners if the AI wasn't trash?
Nah. They'll still do annoying things like taking items you intentionally set down for later. I mean, it is nice that they attack enemies more in this game than File#2 but, they can just drain away your resources. Then the next problem is when they're off screen. They suffer HP decay as they move around, drain ammo, break melee weapons, use up recovery items due to the HP decay, and can even die in completely safe rooms. It's honestly just better for everyone that you play without them.
@@SairentoZ7 The AI hp decay is probably the dumbest mechanic in the game.
I love Bunny girl 😍
There was epic songs that wasn't need to change, but ok
Hello guy
guys is resident evil outbreak cool idk if its ciil
No its cool
Nossa que Skip foda
You shouldn't have changed her standard outfit, this bunny costume destroyed the video imo.
