I don't know how anyone can blame the courier for the sierra madre, your character was knocked unconscious and brought there, the DLC is about you finding the right moment to escape from there. What was the courier suppose to do? Stay there? Like what?? The courier found a can of beans and shared it with a dog and that dog bit someone months later. Like what is this argument? ?
Kill Elijah, instead of being nasty and locking him in there. Cause he WAS smart enough to escape eventually. And he sabotaged the NCR by giving them access to Cloud Tech.
the argument seems less "the courier is directly to blame for this. they did this." and more "that cloud followed the courier, weather they wanted it to or not" not saying that makes it a good arument/super interesting, but that was my take.
@@cobraglatiator The issue here is that the writers have a fundamental misunderstanding of how The Cloud works. Love how they keep using the exp freeze ray and look over the fact EVERY KILL MAKES YOU MORE INSANE but I think they know lol. The little damage the freeze ray does is to insure the victim stays alive. There maybe a solution to not kill and restore the Mojave.
Oh sanity doesn’t matter. Zach said as much an episode or two earlier that he’s basically playing in godmode, without actually making himself immortal and having infinite ammo in his gun. He doesn’t need to sleep, eat, drink water, or worry about his sanity degrading, though the messages appearing that he’s gaining or losing sanity does still appear.
@@decimation9780 Also not EVERY human NPC kill results in a sanity loss. Killing the cannibals' for instance doesn't. It's mostly the more sane NPCs in the Mojave that result in a sanity penalty when you kill them, ones that usually aren't hostile on sight if say you keep your distance and stow your weapons.
He's been insane since the start of the playthrough, why he's been seeing stuff like exploding deathclaws and giant centaurs
@@phyllotaxis I was under the impression they exploded so there wouldn’t be a massive corpse in an area for several ingame day’s seeing as Zack never fast travels, at least not to my knowledge, therefore the corpse would not despawn once your character has reached a considerable distance from the initial area. Also because lag, because it’s Fallout New Vegas.
If there’s kills that lose sanity but they still attack on sight, it’s not a choice to stay sane without making the run hell
Ah, that mod... I think there are like half a dozen different ways out and endings, but it's been too long since I last played it.
Just when ya think you’re out THEY PULL YA RIGHT BACK IN!
What's nice about "That Gun" is that it's in vanilla Fallout NV. There's another gun with a similar name called "This Rifle" or something similar. It's some kind of hunting rifle if I remember right.
Father Elijah: *Slow Clap* I always knew you'd come back for my gold
Fun Dust Lore Fact: The Forecaster is such a missed opportunity for this mod. Imagine what a Psycker in this environment would be like? Especially one who grew up in it. The Ultra Lux could have been this nightmare fortress where you fight the visions and horrors of a man barely surviving in a dead world. I mean I get why they didn't bother, since 90% of the people who play Dust will never get this far, and Dust players tend to avoid the Strip because there's almost no good loot. Going to New Vegas in survival is basically a death sentence, so why put in a complex mind dungeon that no one will experience anyway.
Actually those who assume there is no good loot obviously missed the actual good loot, There are wonders to be found there......
That sounds more like a "Fun Dust Lore Opinion"
Counterpoint to "complex mind dungeon": New Frontier NCR campaign. That was not a particularly fun experience
There's no real reason for the Forecaster to be based at the Ultralux. Put the psychic mind dungeon somewhere people will go, or leave a breadcrumb trail to him. Maybe leave an invitation addressed to the pc where the Forecaster lived in the base game.
@@MartynWilkinson45 I'm pretty sure there was a note at the 188
Mike: Fly is to safety!
Proceeds to crash into the Sierra madre
Zach loses 5 brain cells from an aneurysm: OH GOD DA-
Mike and Zach: Safety"
Mod: that's where you're wrong
14:36 really got me, with the way the ncr guy's just grunting tied with the comical freeze and him just flipping the fuck out just makes a perfect package in this scene LMAO
I honestly thought he was going to open the door and Ulysses would just be standing there with his arms crossed
Zach having a brief flashback to the Frontier on its mention is amazing.
Thanks for suffering for us again. I was always iffy about dust (post post post apoc…just shooting and “muh survival” is not fun and overdone, or easy to muck up imo, muh ethics and how humanity reacts and rebuilds and charts new courses is the real allure of fallout) but this is just…wow. Hell.
Yey Zach gun rant on blade runner!
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of dust either. Instead of the mod maker making sure the numerous reported bugs were fixed, he just gave up on it and started something else.
I don't know how anyone can blame the courier for the sierra madre, your character was knocked unconscious
and brought there, the DLC is about you finding the right moment to escape from there. What was the courier suppose
to do? Stay there?
It’s a completely asinine argument. It would’ve been cool if it had nothing to do with the courier.
the argument seems less "the courier is directly to blame for this. they did this." and more "that cloud followed the courier, weather they wanted it to or not" not saying that makes it a good arument/super interesting, but that was my take.
@@cobraglatiator The issue here is that the writers have a fundamental misunderstanding of how The Cloud works. It doesn't follow people, in fact it seems to be controlled entirely within the Sierra Madre. It took around what, 150 years for it to rise out of the casino and flood the city proper according to Dean. There's no way, even in the 50 year time gap Dust creates, that the Cloud would naturally spread out that far given how slow it seems to move anyway.
@@trial_with_an_error9687 hm, i mean i'm not super deep into/knowledgeable of all the lore, and what i do know, i can and am likely to, forget. but i think you lay out a good argument here.
i guess this is just a long winded way to say "i see." which is what i reply with anytime i feel the need to reply, but dunno what to say, or just don't have anything to say. soo uuhhh, yea.
"i see."
There are a lot of mods that seem to try to force morality on a player for killing while simultaneously have absolutely everything try to kill them. This isn't Phantom Pain or the Sorrow boss fight. It was interesting when MGS did it! You guys (The modders) are just pulling a half assed rip-off trying to seem deep.
14:25 Zach: Tactical Cloud Weapon.
Me: Ah so a Buster Sword?
For some reason, I'm now kinda alright with Brooklyn and what she went on to do.
The way Zach yelled when he opened the radioactive door in Vault 21 literally sounded like Gus Fring when he realized he was about to die.
Zack: We're never coming back to the seria modra.
Fallout Dust: Your going weather u like it or not
"Although you are no pilot, you are confident that the auto-pilot will guide you to safety away from this hell."
Proceeds to immediately crash into the Sierra Madres entrance forgetting to turn on said auto-pilot
I hope this is the push for Zach and Mike to go for the independent Vegas run.
If you mean the one with Yes man....no this mod is the result of that particular ending.
@@pbsixgun6 Fair, but from what we've seen, they may spin it to make it so that the NCR is to blame. Wouldn't be the first time they did that lol
If anyone didn’t know, there was a cut piece of content for camp McCaren that had to do with an obstacle course
"So no beds?" *Breaks skateboard*
They managed to find the one guy which didn't want them dead and they killed him
the way zach realized he went from one hell to another when i went from the Mojave to the sierra madre was absolutely priceless, XD
Zach & Mike: Nah, we aren't going to the Sierra Madre again
Vertibird: Yeah, but I'm the pilot, so *buckle up, boyos!*
Zach's descent into insanity is so very entertaining
Rest in peace construction worker Zach
Well I mean, they did escape the Mojave technically.
Cutting zac off at the end was amazing
regarding the Forecaster, remember that you are not playing as the courier. you can find the Courier, out in the wastes in a refuge they set up after the battle of hoover dam
Oh man I was waiting for Zach to unknowingly to renter the madre. The results were good.
I wonder if they’ll play the Callisto protocol when that comes out
the EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeEEeeeVillssss you've COMMIITTEDDD the sin of...
RETURNING FIRE

NOT DYING
EVIL

EVIL

EVIL PSYCHO CRAZY DEVIL EVIL
okay mr mod man.
I like how you’re going over the thumbnails of old vids. This custom one for Dust looks neat
I love how it cut off on the OH GODDA- I spit my water out when I heard that, it's so funny to hear a cut off of anything
I personally hated the hell out of that text box "the evils I committed do I deserve this rescue maybe this ride is destined for another"
Like, realistically if I committed so many evils and this ride was for someone else, why wouldn't I take it? If I'm such a villain why stop cause someone else deserves the vertiberd? I'm inherently evil so Im gonna take it. Is the strange implication here, I hate when games make me reflect on my decisions. Especially when it was justified from the sutuation I was in
that cut at the end was great
I love the end when all I hear is Zach go "oh god dam-" lol
I laughed a lot when you opened the door inside V21 and you took some seconds to realise its filled with Radiation xD
It is facisnating just how many big mods at the time had references to the 'Frontier' in them heck the New California Team and The Frontier team were essentially turning New Vegas into a Trilogy with NC being a prologue and The Frontier being a epilogue
A shame The Frontier sucked, but I am happy with the stuff they've been working on to make it better and the dedication to turn it into something really nice.
Just when you thought you got out, they pulled you back in.
What is it with modders and making the NCR cartoonishly evil?
tAxEs or something like that. seemingly.
actually kinda wanted zach to check out the other locations, big mt aint got much but its a lot of fun checking what all sinkhouse robots did and theres a way into the divide via zion
Theory for Mikeburnfire Cinematic Universe. The NCRs actions here in Dust makes Mike and Zack side with Independent Vegas.
It's assumed canon that Dust is pretty much the 'Yes Man' ending, but with zero efforts/totally failed efforts to get the various factions to work together.(also the Brotherhood is 100% Blown up)
@@pbsixgun6 yeah, but Mike and Zach seem to have missed all the lore to indicate that, so are just seeing the ncr being stupidly, cartoonishly evil. A weird number of mod makers seem to think the ncr's manifest destiny imperialism makes them captain Planet villains.
Thats beutifully ironic
I gotta ask the NCR the same thing Chris asks Wesker in RE5. Do you get all your ideas from comic book villains?
Jesus this was the funniest DUST Episode yet
Had me in stitches constantly
29:35
I love this moment
im also curious what zach and mike will do after escaping the mojave, actually what would be cool is a fallout 1 playthrough, machine breaks againand them hundreds of years back to vault 13
It's always fun when a mod likes to alter lore to an excessive degree. First we saw valkyrie and her forced connection to the cabots. And now we have dust trying to make a mediocre military like the NCR into a cartoon villainous organization
I hope you guys can play some other fun/silly mods after this, because DUST just seems like a massive slog. Or. or, Hell, play some other games just for fun. I know that I need to catch up on your Chrono Trigger playthrough.
Random suggestion. Risk of Rain. The first one has couch co-op, and two is more hectic. Nobody I enjoy has played it yet and I think it'd be an experience for you two
Porcelain would contain calcium since it's made out of a silicate based clay and a limestone - originally kaolin and petrus.
Yall should play this game where every door is randomized
I knew that was gonna be the reaction to THAT end route...hope they realize they aren't done yet. and there IS an escape....
Yall are getting way better at making interesting endings
Hype. 11:22 is such a good reason to react like that
Zack and Mike are on the home stretch, now they must once again venture into the Madre.
11:25 Zach channeling Gus fring
Fun fact: that elevator shaft with no escape on it, there’s a door on those planks that take you right outside the wall near Camp McCarran. Jampacked with ghosts though, and it’s meant to be an entrance, not an escape.
11:30 was that a "so what, no head" joke
"This isn't safety, this is the Sierra Madre"
Zach and I sigh in unison: DAMNIT!
Joel 2:31 is a real biblical quote, because of course it is. These days, the bible is pretty much used just for that; looking for quotes that will add more layers of existential philosophy of your story with the mere mention
That ending was perfect lmao
The genuine pain in Zach's voice when he said FUCK
Whats that old quote? One ends up on the path that they avoid to take? Welcome back to the Sierra Madre boys.
I was wanting to join the military then I watched your campfire stories so thanks!!
