My Father was so inspired by this man that he named me, his son, after this amazing politician. He is the man who made canada what it is today, not matter if you agree with his decisions of not. But have some respect and realize that Pierre Elliott Trudeau influenced greatly how Canadians see themselfes today.

If it wasn't for PM Trudeau, my parents wouldn't have been accepted into this wonderful country, if it wasn't for Trudeau, I wouldn't be a part of such an amazing nation.Trudeau strengthened this country with the philosophy that people of all colours and backgrounds should be able to live together in harmony.
And to all those who do not believe in immigration: we are all immigrants (except the aboriginals of course), European(white) background is no better than Asian, or African, etc

what i dont understand, is how this man was respected as one of the greatest prime ministers. a man who rode around his hometown with a nazi symbol on his bike helmet, a man who did mocking pirouettes behind the queen...ugh im embarrassed.

the first nations peoples migrated here too. they came from asia, where those people themselves originally migrated from farther southwest. what makes the land yours is if you are born on it, because unless you are born at the very point on earth where humanity first came into being, your family originally came from somewhere else.

How about the notwithstanding clause, i.e. an opt out demanded by the provinces but also used or at least attempted by the federal government?

imo,to be part of the country and the federation of canada ,QUEBEC need to sign the CONSTITUTION.but WE DIDNT ,so my question is WHY QUEBEC PRIME MINISTER can use BAILLON and not any other prime minister of any other province?.
also why do our court are called court du quebec instead of provincial court, and why do we say SURETE DU QUEBEC instead of PROVINCIAL POLICE.
is it possible that in fact QUEBEC is already separeted from the federation .
a STATE instead of a PROVINCE

Your images of Trudeau and Marchand at 5 minutes in are likely the Arvida mine strike. The goal of the strike, led by Jean Marchand, was not better working conditions, but co-ownership of the mine by the employees with their employers. That was an attempt towards a new form of communism promoted by the NDP and developed in Yugoslavia under Tito, called industrial democracy or workers' control. However, the real intent is for the state to own everything ("in trust") and the employees to do all the work, including management, in order to ELIMINATE CAPITALISM, aka free enterprise.

The problem with your logic is this. There are few french speaking people outside of Quebec in Canada. Sure New Brunswick is bilingual and there are some communities dispersed, but the language used outside of Quebec in North America is English. They don't speak French because they don't need to because their means of communication is English. Central Quebec is pre-dominantly French, English isn't needed. Montreal is bilingual, so not learning both is foolishness.

Are you sure that you're referring to Canada? Clearly for what I'm reading, you definitely refer to United States. If you don't like the multiculturalism in Canada then move to another country. I feel pity for your soul.

What lame reasons to not like him. So to you, those things (the Nazi thing sounds suspect to me, if not an outright lie) outweigh everything else he did, with our constitution and defeating the FLQ?

I admire your optimism. However, you seem to be a little delusional in believing that you live in a time ahead of the one you're in. I assume that "last remnants" implies a very small group, but I do not believe this to be the case regarding people who judge based on skin colour and background. We are certainly in the age where people know racial prejudices are wrong but they still exist everywhere in our society. Many people do it subconsciously without even thinking about it.
