"He doesn't know": Poilievre challenges Trudeau on size of Canada's federal deficit

- Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre challenged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the real size of the federal deficit, suggesting that Trudeau “doesn’t know” what the federal budget deficit was in 2023.
Poilievre pointed to a report from the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) that said the federal government’s projected deficit exceeded the Liberals’ promised $40 billion cap in the 2023-24 fiscal year.
“Mister Speaker, he doesn’t know. I was tempted to accuse him of hiding it, but as Napoleon Bonaparte said: ‘Never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence,” he said.
“Mr. Speaker, who’s actually running this government?”
Trudeau did not answer Poilievre’s question about the budget but said he was “focused on Canadians.”

I wish Pierre wasn't able to manipulate via fear campaigns this many Canadians to consider voting for him next election. I wish most Canadians were smarter, more progressive minded. But alas, doesn't seem that's the case.
So we live in disappointment. Speaker can't force members to answer questions and many Canadians fall for Pierre and the Cons manipulative fear trap.

Canada has never has a progressive, left of centre party in charge. Some Liberal governments like with Lester B Pearson in the 60s might have been more open to social democratic policy while pushed by the NDP and Tommy Douglas, the Father of Medicare, but no NDP has elected to lead Canada, Greens haven't formed even close to an Opposition government.
But oddly enough, Conservatives did lose their party status in the 90s when they lost so many seats. Now, seems people don't learn from history and are letting Cons back into the driver's seat.

Did you see Pierre ignore facts when he was called out about his carbon tax hysteria but a reporter a while back? Reporter said that many reports from countries with a carbon tax show that it IS NOT the primary driver of inflation and, in many ways, reduces emissions and costs. In Ontario, at least, most people get more rebates from the carbon tax then they pay.
Pierre runs from the facts if they don't support his fascist ideology.

What you are now experiencing, my fellow Canadians, is what happens when you let a social justice warrior, who says things like “the budget will balance itself,” run the country. We deserve what we are getting because we voted for it three times.

Most progressive policy that ever got through that helped the most Canadians was in the 60s, by the Father of Medicine and the NDP, Tommy Douglas. He encouraged Liberal PM Lester Pearson to pass it and since then no Canadian goes broke because they don't have health insurance like in the for-profit USA with over 40 million uninsured.
