He doesn't really make an attempt to put out content that's relevant and popular at the time of it's release. Nex came out almost a year ago. Had he released a similar video in, say, February, he would have had many more eyes on it and subsequently more subs. He did something similar with Nightmare. The quality is fantastic, but if you're not releasing videos when the content is the most relevant and popular, you're obviously not going to get as much attention.
