There is more than that... I want good NHS, Police, Education , roads, controlled immigration... but that requires a good economy not Marxist "economics" nor Brexit economics... We shot ourselves in the foot by leaving the EU. With all our opt outs we were essentially just in the the Single Market but with full member rights. We had the EU by the balls.. The Single Market was excellent for the UK..But our coward politicians won't admit it.

West fell a victim of their own prosperity (I live in the political west, but in a poor country), while everything was fine people started to get bored and created a whole lot of useless movements, while letting politicians ruin their countries.
Now, with trouble everywhere, societies will need to focus again on important matters, forget about all those stupid movements and try to regain some control of the situation.

My wife is Chinese and is in the UK on a spouse visa, but I definitely think we need to control immigration.
The amount someone needs to make as a specialist in order to get a visa is very low, in fact gor more jobs it's lower than the average market, making it a cheaper option for companies to get an immigrant than go for local talent.
There has to be a better way than how we are doing it now.
I don't think anyone is against immigration. People are against uncontrolled illegal mass immigration. There is a distinction to be made there. Meeting your future wife in another country and have her come over to yours so you can live a normal and happy life together? Fine! No problem whatsoever. Having hordes of foreigners, some of which have harmful, criminal and/or extremist intentions, flood your country and overwhelm the native population? Not fine! A huge problem that is in dire need of a solution.

I am an atheist. I don't believe in the existence of God. There is insufficient evidence or rational justification to support the belief in any gods or supernatural entities. I rely on reason, logic, and empirical evidence to form my worldview and do not find compelling evidence or arguments to support the existence of god.
There's also not a piece of scientific evidence that God doesn't exist, same arguments on either side.

Once again I'm sorry but I disagree: France is a little ahead of the UK, which constitutes a good overview. We diabolized RN when it was FN, and then we treated the party as any other regular party, and this is in the age of social media and reality TV. People only judge according to how much the candidates look cool or not boring and certainly not because they are diabolized. Everything has been tried but nothing couldn't work.
The problem is a worldwide economic crisis due to 1 pandemic, and 2 wars with major consequences, in a world that was already in crisis. Populists nobody listened to until then create falsely simplistic problems, blame scapegoats, they promise simplistic solutions to make people think that a change is possible, and as so many people are either stupid, ignorant, or both, they fall into the trap. I am going to have disagree with your central argument. Moral character does matter. you cannot expect good policies to flow from people of questionable character. Bad trees don't produce good fruit. We have no example in history of a bad leader somehow magically making good policies. To believe that is possible is beyond naivety. I am not saying that our political leaders should be saints. No one is perfect but we should always seek to have leaders of sound and reasonable character, we should value that and if we don't then the problem is with us and we will ultimately reap the consequences for it.
My view on politics is pretty simple sometimes a politician will make a policy I don't like and they are wrong but sometimes my view on the issue is wrong and they are right. sometimes they cant enact a policy due to real world limitations. you have to look upon it with a degree of humility
