Matt No. Not at all. The ‘é’ actually makes the “ay” sound. This is seen in many Latin based languages, including Italian, French, and Spanish. So, it wouldn’t be pronounced “poke-mon” it would be pronounced “pok-ay-mon”. You can even hear this in the anime, though sometimes they mess it up and say “pok-ee-mon”, which is also incorrect. Pokémon would be spelled “Pokēmon” instead.

Before he met the real world, he only lived in his dream fantasy, where the whole world loved him. No one likes him. Except the psycho bitch next to me. I want to get out of this house. Thankfully, I have already started the process of moving out. But yeah, this guy is so dumb, he calls a total stranger his girlfriend, and gets confused when her actual boyfriend tells him to stay away from her. (He told us that himself, but in a way that that girl was actually his girlfirend from his perspective. I put the outside perspective together through my analytic skills. Because no woman would that guy. Not even with a fork.)

From our perspective here in America, everything different in British English is just slang. We also conveniently forget that the language is called "English" because, well, it's from England. We Americans, we tend to think the rest of the world should revolve around us. We're kind of like the "entitled parents" of the world. It's definitely not a good thing, but unfortunately it's become part of our culture.
@@PolymorphicPenguin I was annoyed about that too. People of different countries use different words for things, which is completely fine. It's like saying 'backyard' is slang for 'garden' when it isn't, it's just what it's called there. I'm sure not all Americans are like the 'entitled parents' of the world, those ones are just the noisiest. x)
In the US it is the word yard. Front yard/back yard/side yard. Here most use the term garden for the area where we grow our own food :) since yards tend to only have grass/bushes with flowers around edges.
In regards to the Flat-earther, this reminds me of a video I saw where a Flat-earther is making the argument that Australia doesn't exist and that you are really flying to New Zealand and they are all kiwis getting paid by the government to act as Aussies; also, all the wildlife and stuff is in New Zealand. I looked at my AUSTRALIAN husband and was like, "you.... lied to me?" Then I looked at the cat and asked, "and what are you? A dog?" We had a great laugh at the expense of the Flat-earthers. These people are absolutely insane.
there was this girl i worked with who is russian. another girl chimed in with this gem, "she's not russian, she doesn't even speak the language or have an accent". i had to walk away before i had a major laugh attack. she was 100% serious.
I love how Americans think that anything that people from the UK say differently is "English slang" like bruh if anything back yard is American slang for garden lol not the other way around
I remember when I attended a church shortly before I became a Sunday school teacher for it. They would serve subway subs after the service and the church was always so full, the conversations were so lively! We got a new pastor, a younger one, we were excited for the future. Well, he made the choice to take away some of the seats. Some people left but most of us still stayed, we didn't mind. And then they took away the lunch, yup, most of that lively crowd left. I could only watch on as the church declined little by little over time. More seats were taken away to make the remain congregation sit in the middle of the room instead of in the back. I once came in super early on a Sunday morning and decorated the hallway for the classrooms in the back, everyone loved it. Within a week it was all torn down because supposedly the hallways were supposed to be painted, but they never were. I once hung a bow on my classroom's door with a pipe cleaner and the pastor took it down within minutes saying it didn't fit the aesthetic. Yeeeea, months later he and the head pastor, of the group of churches we were a branch of, made the choice to move our services from Sunday morning to Monday night. They never sat their workers down, the ones who ran the front and the ones who ran the Sunday school, to talk to us. We all found out at the same time. I left that church before that announcement was ever done. Never went back.
That celebrity story reminds me of that Dr. Phil story with that one girl who thought another social media followers was in a relationship even though they never met.
I can't remember if I commented here or not. But my friend who could not understand why her husband couldn't get a job because "he is such a hard worker" he had one job that he got fired from, no driver's license, no high school diploma, no GED and can't get a job. When I told her off about this, she question why him not having a diploma or GED had anything to do with it. And then start complaining about the price of a GED, how he will struggle with one of the subjects, and how it's not fair. I started cutting off contact with her soon after

OH! I got one to add to this. My mom's 'friend' at her work. They work in a casino and from what my mom tells me she can make a lot of money a night with added tips. Her 'friend' has FMLA (Family Medical Leave) and uses it almost *DAILY*. In all honesty she doesn't need that FMLA and just abuses it to leave work about 2-5 hours early and knows how to use it so they can't fire her for leaving so much. She then complains abut how she doesn't have enough money to raise her three boys and how they are now living in a tent in someone's yard... Lady, You need to work to money. And also not spend all of it on yourself and actually use what you make to raise your boys
At the undergrad university I attended, almost half of the students were slightly older than fresh-out-of-high-school age. Many had young children, and most were single parents. In a course on inequality in society, a classmate blew my mind. She was over 25 (27 or 28 I think), had been trying to compllete a BA degree for more than six years, and lived in an apartment paid for by her parents. They paid for her vehicle, food, utilities and clothing. AND gave her $500.00 per week for "mad money". As we discussed the disparity in Canadian society as part of the class, she would routinely scoff and sigh, moan and groan not so quietly from the back of the room. When our professor brought up the objective point that children were not poor - their parents were, the children merely lived in the poverty as dependants, this woman stood up and spat out that parents who cannot afford to care for their children should have those children removed from their care!. She actually believed that we should return to the days of work houses, where citizens receiving welfare would be forced to live and work in return for meals and housing, and their children should be placed in orphanages. This was in the 1990s!
I thought I was out of touch not wanting to work until I’m confident my health can support a job. Things definitely aren’t easy for me, but I don’t really see much point in working when every time I’ve attempted it has ended in me falling asleep on the job.
Ahrpigi what would you do? There’s equality of opportunity. Business can’t refuse service for being of a certain skin color/ethnicity. A cop killing a black dude who attacks them isn’t racist. A cop killing a black guy who *SPIKES AN OFFICER’S HEAD INTO ASPHALT WHILE RESISTING ARREST FOR DRUNK DRIVING, THEN TAKING SOMETHING FROM THE OTHER OFFICER’S BELT, RUN, AND POINT IT AT THE OFFICERS* is not racist. You bastards just bitch about inconvenient problems that are only problems to you because you feel entitled.
I think you missed something important in that first story. Sunday brunch in the fellowship hall IS free for the community, provided by parishioners. When OP said only ~20 people would come, they meant that only ~20 from the community. More parishioners than that would be providing food.
I hate when people say ‘just get a council house’ when they don’t always need it pisses me off so much. (I don’t live in one and have no need to ever try get one before anyone says anything)
The international private school one was funny. I teach at one and asked my travel and tourism class to plan an itinerary for a trip and a budget for it. The one girl put 1000€ a day in spending money because she chose Paris. I told her that I went for a week and took 1000€ for the entire time and came back with money; she just had no concept of why I was shocked with her budget. The others had more realistic ones.
Out of touch person: While giving tours of my university dorms, parents legit asked of the two older students who were in charge "Do you make sure the students go to sleep at a decent time?" (older students reply: yes, and we make sure to tell them a bedtime story and give them a goodnight's kiss) Or "Does the baker come here on his rounds? Do they get the bread delivered to their dorm or do they have to come outside to get it?" (mind you, these dorms were SUBSIDIZED....also where the hell do bakers (still) make rounds? Rslash: 0:29
Who would benefit from ‘lying’ to us and telling us the earth was round if it wasn’t ???
i have never found an explanation for that. even the most bs reason for it doesnt exist
I know, right? Most flat earth earthers when in a debate pull out the line “Ok, prove the government/NASA is telling the truth!” When in reality, it should be them proving that the government/NASA isn’t telling the truth. Which they won’t be able to prove because no one is lying.
If they can get you to believe the earth is round...they know they can get you to believe anything.
i once heard, "to sell globe models at the very least" and im like wow
Something something reptilians, something something brain control, something something Illuminati.
It’s obvious!
I got an ad partway through one of your sentence.

I knew a girl in 8th grade who forgot her hydro flask at home, and went around begging people for water, and someone told her to just go to the water fountain and she said “ew no, water fountains are for poor people” I also knew a girl in high school who didn’t know rent was a real thing, she thought everyone owned their homes and rent was just a thing that happened in movies. She was really rich and so were all her friends, she found out rent was real in a class where she was forced to fraternize with the peasants.

One of my old friends from discord genuinely was struggling to understand why I was so upset over having to choose to pay for either my medication or my dog's food during a bad month. He honestly asked me "Why can't you buy both?" while bragging about his brand new camero
The way rSlash says "Patreon" is weird but cute at the same time.
Ikr lol
Oh my God that story about the boss who took them all shopping. I can't even wrap my head around it.
I know this one guy who’s so out of touch that he says PAY-tree-on like Pat-re-on
Joke btw I love rslash
Edit : this most likes I’ve ever gotten thanks guys

I worked with a girl that was only available to work 4 hours on Tuesday mornings. No other times of the week. we couldn't hire anyone else to help at other times and she wouldn't open up her schedulable anymore than that. One year she told us that her parents were taking her and her sister on a big fancy cruise as a Christmas gift - then got upset when she found out that was the only Christmas gift she was getting
When I read the title, my immediate response was "ME!" As I always have to ask the younger folks what this or that means, but I guess that is a great example of not understanding the question. I've met some real amazingly out of touch people over the years and usually just ended up slowly backing away, turning and running!
More than half of these.

for the first story, I don't know?? try feeding the homeless maybe?
At least it wouldn't get wasted

ok im a little annoyed that he called a garden "slang" for uk people when most of the world actually says garden
I'm sure not all Americans are like the 'entitled parents' of the world, those ones are just the noisiest. x)
I mean rslash was quoting the OP so I don't think it's really fair to blame rslash for that
@@Jpaynesmith A whole ass year later my guy
“Garden” isn’t uk slang, it’s just the word
Exactly I was so confused as to why they felt the need to clarify. As a Brit I felt offended and my indignant barely audible muttering was proof
Slithery I mean it is the English language... 😂😝
It depends. What do they call it in every other country the UK invaded?
@@davidmcgill1000 In Israel it's also called a garden [in Hebrew, of course]. Yes, they invaded here too
In the US it is the word yard. Front yard/back yard/side yard. Here most use the term garden for the area where we grow our own food :) since yards tend to only have grass/bushes with flowers around edges.

"Pat-ree-on" is weird, but at least it's not onision-style "pay-treen"
The one with the Trueman show, ask who is the main character

I have a question about the patreon: will those videos be censored like the ones on UA-cam or will they be read as they are?
Things don’t need to be censored on Patreon so I’m sure they will be uncensored
I can't remember if I commented here or not. But my friend who could not understand why her husband couldn't get a job because "he is such a hard worker" he had one job that he got fired from, no driver's license, no high school diploma, no GED and can't get a job. When I told her off about this, she question why him not having a diploma or GED had anything to do with it. And then start complaining about the price of a GED, how he will struggle with one of the subjects, and how it's not fair. I started cutting off contact with her soon after
In the UK a "council" house, is subsidised housing for people in housing need.
Thank you, as an American I had no idea what a council house is. We have subsidised housing in the USA, but nobody here calls it a council house.
@@PolymorphicPenguin it is because, in the past, our regional councils would provide cheap housing for people in need. It is now, largely, under the care of Housing Associations, who build and maintain the social housing stock. It is still, frequently, called "council housing" as the name has stuck.

Isak Valtersen What, you’re Jesus?
Who or what were you before being Jesus?

I think you missed something important in that first story. Sunday brunch in the fellowship hall IS free for the community, provided by parishioners. When OP said only ~20 people would come, they meant that only ~20 from the community. More parishioners than that would be providing food.
patreon is pronounced pay-tree-onn, like the word patron

The fact that he said PAT-reon instead of patreon hurts

I think the most out of reach person is the person who keeps on asking me if I want to get UA-cam premium, like no I don’t wanna, I’m broke.
The way you said "patreon" physically hurt me-
The international private school one was funny.
Who's the most out of touch person you've ever seen.
Pres Rump?
Out of touch person: While giving tours of my university dorms, parents legit asked of the two older students who were in charge "Do you make sure the students go to sleep at a decent time?" (older students reply: yes, and we make sure to tell them a bedtime story and give them a goodnight's kiss)
Or "Does the baker come here on his rounds? Do they get the bread delivered to their dorm or do they have to come outside to get it?" (mind you, these dorms were SUBSIDIZED....also where the hell do bakers (still) make rounds? They sure as hell don't in my country °-° )
this man, this grown man, who absolutely loves to ramble on and on about how he's a PROFESSIONAL youtuber and INFLUENCER (do not forget, he's important), cannot pronounce Patreon.
A boss of mine said I could get a Lyft to work... after they cut me to one minimum wage shift a week and my car broke down right after the 1st of the month. He legit didn't understand that I couldn't do that with what was left of my biweekly pay.
I'd never give any money on someone's Patreon who's job is to steal content from reddit. Your videos are fine but let's be honest, it's not original content.
