2:12 Anna, two ways to get fresh water on an island. 1) Rain in a lake 2) The dirt and sand stone(from ancient coral), filter out the salt, leaving fresh water.
Only other way is to boil sea water and distill.

Ben Gunn's ship was a slave ship, but it was on the island careening (beaching the ship to clean the hull, we saw the crew of the Walrus do this early in season 1). The Queen probably took the men of that ship and the Walrus crew rather than letting them hang out on the beach and leave for a couple reasons: 1) She couldn't know that they'd stay on the beach. If they went inland looking for water, food, etc. they could have stumbled on a trap or on the village which would have given away that the island was inhabited. 2) She can't risk the island becoming a favored place for ships to stop, its secrecy is its defense.

basically an uncharted island. Any person sailing away would surely chart it to return and explore with a full crew -- aka armed force, jic they had to "colonize." the torture's aim was finding out to prepare themselves for rescue boats, learn their shipping routes, etc. As Queen said, not a great plan, but has kept families alive for several years.

"He's having this crisis now..." The man is stuck in a cage with nothing to do but, reflect on all that could have been or should have been done. If you have absolutely nothing to do THAT is when the demons of your past come to poke you with those horrible questions.

And welcome my second favorite character from the show -- Mr. Scott's amazing daughter Madi. Damn, I love her.
Toby Stephens has already been in one "Jane Eyre" adaptation, a mini-series from 2006. He played Rochester opposite Ruth Wilson's Jane.

Toby Stephens’ and Ruth Wilson’s Jane Eyre is SO GOOD!! I’d love to hear/see your reaction to it! It came out in 2006 and is available on Hulu. He’s the ONLY redeemable Rochester.

The version of Jane Eyre with Toby Stephens is from the early aughts. I can't remember if it's a good adaptation, but he's very, very pretty.
