Great explainer video and down to earth which I love. Might buy one but prefer this review compared to more tech faced ons have seen as shows the kit in use.
RØDE Microphones I mean if you wanna send me one I wouldn’t be upset! I’m a production technician for Iheartmedia and with the Coronavirus going on the company is trying to figure out how my team can work from home and this is the perfect device for what we do in radio! I’ve been wanting to buy a Rodecaster but my wife won’t let me!
Hi Rode, just want to ask if RODE NT2a mic can connect to the podcaster pro? Does it needs to have interface scarlet before connecting to the podcaster? Hope you notice my question. Thank you
I just got the RODECaster Pro for Christmas and I’m blown away by this AMAZING piece of technology! I’ve always wanted to do a podcast, now I’m definitely doing a Podcasts! I rearrange my entire studio just to incorporate this amazing piece of equipment into my workflow! I really can’t say enough good things about it!
Pat! I went out and bought the Rodecaster and a Podmic to up my podcast game...it was everything as advertised! I love it! After getting it in I was like...dude, I need to talk about this bad boy on UA-cam! Love your channel, love your content! Thanks for the inspiration.

How can we connect sound mixture along with rodcaster pro together to make the audio quality the best .plz kindly put up some video about the connection and many more.looking for the response soon
Hi Pat, is there a setting to turn off your mic playback? I can't figure out the setting on where I can turn that off. Hearing myself while talking to other people gets annoying.
Thanks for your review! I still don't understand what's feeding the channel/fader labeled with the USB sign. I understand the USB-C port on the back is an output to connect the Rodecaster as an audio interface, right?
I use My Rodecaster mostly for My online radio station to do band interviews & its an awesome investment Ive never been disappointed by. HIGHLY recommend picking up one if you have the means
So WITHOUT a computer...... Can I use this to also get VIDEO to a podcast ? I know it's not made for video... but is there a way to incorporate it? Especially multi camera
Hello, may I ask you a question? I plugged the rode caster to my laptop, using only one mic. recording using audacity from Mac, while recording I can hear my voice and the sounds from the rode caster but when I play the audio I only hear my voice, do you have any idea what that can be? thanks in advance. your video is really good. blessings!
I'm trying to set up RCP , CANON EOS M50, my laptop to be able to video and stream and also just audio for new podcast and between all videos and capture cards I'm overwhelmed and lost on how to set it all up and begin my journey. I really appreciate your video and your approach to the average guy. Any way you could direct me on the setup of the equipment to start then I can tackle the next. Thank you in advance.
Love this! Thanks Pat for the review and endorsement. Will definitely invest in this when the budget allows. I see this as advantage to BEGIN my podcasting journey with, and excel the learning curve. By the way, your latest book, SUPERFAN.... Amazing! Thanks again for the content you produce.
Been using it for a couple months and it’s great. I use it as an interface though and not through the SD card as polywav files and process is a bit cumbersome. If you can do a video on that it would be very helpful.
Will you compare and contrast the quality of audio between livestream software using the Rodecaster Pro, ex: Zoom Webinar, Wirecast, vMix, etc? Would recommend running the Rodecaster Pro through an audio interface for audio streaming into Zoom Webinar, Wirecast, vMix, etc?
Great explainer video. Question: If you are only doing guest interviews via ZOOM or Skype and don't plan on taking this on the road (I have Zoom 6HN for that), will this still help?
Yes, for a couple reasons - you could have a local recording of yourself as a backup with the SD card situation. Second, soundboard for easier editing (as you go) versus in post for intros and transitions (and the airhorn sound effect, lol), the ability to easily and on the fly add in sounds from your computer (so imagine sound clips from youTube or other podcasts that you just hit play on in Apple Podcasts - and then you comment after that in your recording), and finally, the increased sound quality with all the built in components.
@@patflynn BOOM!🔥 Final question: you played a clip from your phone via Bluetooth - will phone interviews also work this way? Now THAT would be a feature to get call-ins so they don't need a computer/ internet etc. ...Thanks as always Pat
The sound devices pre ix 3 does have limiters (possibly the best out there) - but none of the other things. It’s more a portable location mixer and recorder. The rodecaster is absolutely the best all in one pocasting tool out there.
I’ve had my Rodecaster PRO for about a month and absolutely LOVE it. I’m never going back to my Zoom. As an aside: I also invested in the Rode Podmic to go with it, and for me, for my voice, in the environments I record in, it sounds nicer than the Heil PR40, ever so slightly better than the Shure SM7B, and far better than my old AT2020 condenser. I grabbed a hard case that can contain the Rodecaster PRO and four Podmics (and cables) over at BH, so now that is also my portable kit.
Nice Ken, that's awesome. I was trying to get my hands on a Podmic but they were out when I was trying. I'll try again, really think it'll fit in nicely with this thing, of course. Still a huge fan of the Heil, though!
@@patflynn BH seems to get them and sell out within a day. Get on their email waitlist and be ready to pounce! I scooped up four, then the next day they showed as backordered again. And mic selection is as personal as underwear choice, it seems! You have to do what fits your voice, the space(s) you're recording in, and at the end of the day, what sounds best to your ears.

I’ve had this for a bit.. my only question I can’t figure out is how to know what your actual output levels are when live-streaming. Or what it will sound like to those listening live.
What I do is connect my wife’s ipad to a mock-up broadcast leave background music playing and go to another room with my wife’s ipad to see what it sounds like to others. Too high or too low and adjust accordingly. That is if you just curious as this unit has output bars that let you know your output levels. Hope this helps.
