When Pucci created the Made In Heaven stand he had to wait for very specific positioning of the Sun and Moon so that he could make use of their gravitational powers to manipulate Time, Space and Fate. Hamon draws power from the waves of the Sun (The Ripples in Space-Time) generated by the sun and channelling it through their body with breathing techniques. The Stand of Hamon is Hermit Purple... which means that Hermit Purple is likely the stand of the Sun itself and is granted to whoever can make use of the Sun's energy. The powers of Hermit Purple are all fate based "The next thing you're going to say is..." This is likely the power that Ultimate Kars would have gained (discounting the non-cannon Jorge Joestar Novel)... That being Hermit Purple Ultimate (A Stand that would've given him the ability to: 1) See into the future 2) Develop Clairvoyancy 3) Develop some degree of Telepathy 4) Develop Thoughtography 5) Develop some degree of Technomancy 6) Develop divination (Fortune Telling). These abilities are also seen with highly developed Hamon masters, like the monk who taught Zepelli. Hamon also developed prophecies, such as the one that stated that the Red Stone of Aja was required to defeat the Pillar Men. I believe that Araki has confirmed that if Jotaro were to go back in time to see a young Joseph Joestar, he would see him wrapped in Hermit Purple. So, he likely gains these fate based powers by enveloping himself with the power/gravity of the sun.
very nicely said! It definitely adds a layer of depth and cohesion to and between the multiple parts of JJBA when you give Hamon a place in the story instead of outright forgetting it. And I especially appreciate that Hamon and Spin have many similarities since it seemed like it was going to be left behind completely as the story progressed The only problem i’ve had with that statement from Araki is that at no point do we see Joseph or Dio wrapped in Hermit (Purple) thorns throughout SC. But that’s a minor nitpick that doesn’t take anything away from the overall storytelling. I do think that Araki knows what he’s doing despite what a very vocal minority would have you believe
@@MomoshikiTheJanitor Hi, Momoshiki. I do personally prefer the Hamon era, mainly because of its interactions with the Villains. Although, I do think that Stands are a better power system. I think Araki had to undermine Hamon a lot when he introduced stands, because, in hindsight, Hamon is a way more broken power system. Hamon can be used to Justify any shenanigans in a fight with the old phrase "A Wizard Did It!". Q. Why can this character fly and shoot lazer beams A. Hamon did it. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to just write Hamon out of the story, because he'd already shown that it was better than most stands... blocking bullets with a hair shield, healing wounds, granting life to dead things, knocking people out, super strength, granting Hydrokinesis, forming a repellent forcefield around ones own body, transforming energy to electricity (Thunder-Cross split attack), transferring energy through solid objects, enhanced reaction speed, climbing walls like Spider-Man, heating up your abs to melt ice and unfreeze a flash frozen human, the ability to survive decapitation briefly, the ability to turn anything into a weapon (even flowers, hair or pasta of all things), granting eternal youth, brainwashing people, un-brainwashing people, ESP, foresight, all the powers of Hermit Purple and if enough power is used... the power to produce Heat similar to that of the sun. But also, if you are a stand user, it gives you access to the Hermit Purple stand, in addition to your normal stand. Shown by Dio who has both Hermit Purple and The World. Discounting the fact that manipulating Hamon in the first place covers the powers of like 10 different Stands. But in part 3... Hamon is just a weak Vampire Repellent and is basically useless against Stand Users. I understand that for Stands to be taken seriously, Hamon had to go, but he didn't have to nerf it into oblivion just to make Stands look better. Just make it so that Jotaro, Jolyne, Josuke, etc were just not part of the special bunch that could manipulate it. I do believe that Araki knows what he's doing, and given what we saw of it, Hamon has definitely run its course, but he definitely could've given Hamon a better send-off. Especially because of all the lore surrounding it. Just have Dio try to take Joseph's body after the fight with Jotaro... Joseph and Jonathan do some Hamon Bull S**t, then have Joseph die heroically, taking Dio with him. The fights themselves are a lot more entertaining now with Stands though... each character having 1 superpower and having to use it creatively to take down their opponents.
Guys, ignore my uninformed ramblings at 4:06 😂Speedwagon did not use Hamon to heal Zeppeli, he used his flaming hot abs Otherwise, thanks for watching guys! Hope you enjoyed. If you did, why not leave a like and subscribing for more JJBA and other manga content like this! But which do you prefer? Hamon or Stands?
As much as I love stands, I hated how much hamon was sidelined for everything post part 2. I would have loved to have seen old Joseph spitting out hamon infused wine blades like zeppeli, or using hair to create bullet deflectors, and even hamon cactus grenades. There where lots of instances where the jobros got injured in fights in part 3. It would have been cool to see Joseph actually healing them with his hamon in the midst of combat. Sealing open wounds with hamon magnetism, and rapidly regenerating their injuries with hamon life energy. Instead, He barely ever used it in part 3, and even less so in part 4.
Yeah, the healing would absolutely have been essential for their trip. At the very least, he could have healed Avdol after his fight with Holhorse But they were so close with the Alessi fight. Since his stand reverts people in age, and if your stand wasn’t awakened by that point, then you can’t use it. He should have fought Joseph instead, so we can see Hamon infused clackers and actual battle tendancies😭
Edit: I was definitely wrong here😂 👇 nope, Will adjusted Speed’s breathing just before the fight to be able to use Hamon. Once Dio freezes Will’s arm and shatters it, it’s no longer frozen and is just a destroyed arm. When Will tells Speed that there’s nothing that he can do to help, Speedwagon says “how about this” and heals his arm and you can see the Hamon glow emanating from his hands during it
@@MomoshikiTheJanitor funny thing is that some time ago I actually had the thought of "come on Araki, why didn't you make Speedwagon a hamon user and have him actually fight alongside Jonathan?"
it would have been cool to see him do some combat and help out a lot more since he’s basically just the announcer for every battle (as hilarious as it is). Maybe even give him a cool and important fight to win. but Zeppeli unfortunately tells him that only 1 in like ten thousand people can perform similar feats to someone like Jonathan

typically i find stands more swag
That they are🤝. Especially with some of the real creative ones we see in later parts
Have the best of both world. Hamon Stand
A stand as strong as Jotaro’s with a hamon boost on top would be insane
hamon spam
Didn’t Speedwagon say he learned how to heal frostbite from Eskimos? It didn’t have anything to do with him using hamon.
Yeah, you’re definitely right on that, he used his flaming hot abs to melt Zepelli’s arm so that he could heal it himself. Thanks for the catch🫣

Im not even done with the video and I can tell you’re a great UA-camr
Glad you’re enjoying, I really appreciate the support! There’s gonna be a lot more to come. I plan to make this Summer a good one🫣
9:21 wait, so does that mean there is a more destructive Hamon that can be learned, or am I just misunderstanding his line?
I think the "Deep Pass Overdrive" is supposed to be a rugby reference. Zeppeli "passes" the ball to Johnathan.
Thank you for explaining Haman to me 😂 thank you
Me personally i dont watch Jojo but im curious so ill watch it
That’s what it’s all about! I hope you really enjoy it as much as I did
4:13 what?? Wasn't him just unfreezing Will's arm with his body heat?
