I have dry, sensitive skin and use adapalene. I'm not acne prone at all, but am over 40 and it's potent, inexpensive, and unscented. Definitely was an adjustment and started very slowly, but i used it every other night now without a problem (alternating exfoliating).
I'm 24 soon and I'm going to turn 25. I'm having severe acne and facing wrinkles under my eyes. I was thinking about incorporating retinol. This is the perfect time you've posted
I'm using Retinal products now, much better than retinol. Now using Geek&Gorgeous A game 0.1% retinal serum and loved it. Will try Maelove moonlight retinal serum next.
I think Versed deserved a mention in this video, with their amazing ''restart gentle retinol serum'' and ''smooth landing retinol eye balm''. Have been using them for about a year now and absolutely love them both!!!
I'd also plug the By Wishtrend retinal night cream -- I use a couple pumps cocktailed with my moisturizer nicely, and it's really easy to use. I think of it as the advanced version of the Stratia Night Shift
Perfect timing ! :) Have you tried Geek and Gorgeous retinols ? Just finishing my 3rd Stratia night shift and thought about moving strength up with that.
Another awesome video! Love BOJ eye gel. I do use it all over the face 😄 The Cosrx with Vit. C sounds good but really like the formulas with Retinal. Gentle but effective. 🙂
I'm amazed at how detailed your descriptions of (mostly) similar products are! I've been on and off adapalene since I was 18 fighting acne. I'm 30 now and transitioning from prescribed adapalene to retinal. I'm trying out the Tiam Vita a line and I gotta tell you... it's amazing how much more gentle active skincare has become in recent years. God bless Korean formulas! As the next step, I would really like to test out the 1% solution you talked about for acne scar treatment. Thank you for the video!
Turning 30 this year and this video is exactly what I needed! I tried the viral french A313 but hated the texture and didn’t see a difference after 6 months use!
I stopped using adapalene after my hormonal acne cleared 2 years ago. Now I'm continuing the retinoid treatment again, mainly focusing on large pores and fine lines. I'm using the Beauty of Joseon ginseng revive eye serum on my face, every other night. Yet to see the results, but every time I wake up the next morning, my skin looks nice & glowy..love it!
Hey! I'm a new subscriber that to happened to stumble across your content and I have been loving all the videos! Its very informative. I'm curious about your take on notion of Western vs Eastern skincare for anti-aging. When it comes to reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, do you think investing in mainstream retinol products from brands like Paula’s Choice, COSRX and Some By Mi are more effective than going for Traditional Korean Hanbang options? Specifically, I'm wondering if splurging on premium panex ginseng brands like Sulwhasoo, Donginbi and The History of Whoo justifies the higher price for better results. What's your perspective on this 🙂?
I'm using the Scinic Cica Retinal cream which I like as it doesn't irritate my skin but also has both Retinal instead of retinol, plus cica which is one of my favourite ingredients along with propolis.
Have you tried any of MaeLove’s products? They have a couple of really nice looking retinol products, and I love that they are a small, women led business.
I was able to buy 3 tubes of 0.05% tretinoin when I went to Mexico for $6. It's insane that it's cheaper to fly to Mexico and get tretinoin (obviously not why I went lol) than it is to get it in the US without insurance.
I don’t think it’s gonna be retinol?? Definitely Retinaldahyde. The market has been saturated with retinol forever but I’m seeing more and more retinaldahyde
Hi Kelly. You’re great I watch your videos all the time very informative!! Quick question Im curious if you’ve heard of or ever tried Evenatom retinol cream or Wishmax retinol cream?? Just wanted to ask your opinion about either of those products.
I use Peter thomas roth retinol. I'm 50 something and I don't have wrinkles on my face, but that could be hereditary. Never took care of my skin until I turned 49 when I started to get cystic acne.
Despite trying for well over a year I haven’t been able to tolerate tret 0,05% more than once a week (I couldn’t find less strength when I bought in Mexico hahah) so I recently incorporated the boj eye serum all over myself and I’m up to that x3/week and tret x1
Please anyone share your thoughts on The Ordinary 0.2% Retinol in Squalane? I have very sensitive skin so the minimal ingredient list appeals to me but havent used it yet due to the dreaded retinisation. Great video, Kelly🤩
Kelly have you seen the dr different retinal products? I recently purchased their forte 1% and I’m loving so far! Switched from adapalene for a little trial, so far so good! Lovely thick emollient texture with lots of barrier supporters
Hi, I'm in my 37. I'm using the retinol 1% from The InkeyList. I've started to use it as a beginner and had no particular problem. I'm in my 3rd full month now and so glad of the result. Would like to know how long should I treat my skin with the retinol ? 4 months, 6 months, or up to 2 years ? Many answers out there. I'm lost ✨️
Im 20 and there are already fine lines on my forehead😢 im scared to use retinol since many ppl said that the best age to use it is at 25. Is there any suggestion product that i should wear?
i’ve been using the good molecules retinol cream and boj retinal eye serum lately. both are really gentle and affordable. i use the good molecules one on my neck and hands too.
I have been using Retinol for years & have just changed to Retinal within the past year. I have a quick question, though. Can I use retinal as well as retinol in a sleeping mask on my Retinal nights? I am looking at the Saturday Skin Yuzu sleeping mask & this video was timed perfectly for me to think and ask! Thank you for all that you do! We all truly appreciate it!
That would be dependent on your skin and tolerance for retinol. Give it a try and see if your skin likes it. You can always do alternating nights too if it's too much. Ultimately you're in the driver's seat and have a lot of options, experiment and follow your skintuition!
Hello Kelly. Thank you so much for your informative video. I have been looking for alternatives for my retinol journey. I just started my journey less than 2 months ago with the ByWishtrend Vit A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream. It's OK but I'm not sure what kind of results I have to look for. I only noticed that I'm getting lesser to no breakouts with it. Will the beginner level retinols you recommended will up my retinol game or should I go for the intermediate level already after this? Thank you so much for your kind response and I'm sorry if my question is all over the place 😅🥰
Glad to hear you enjoyed this! I think the next step is up to you and your skin If you are happy I'd stick with the "beginner" level products but if you feel like you want to see more benefits then I'd suggest trying a higher percentage or "intermediate" level retinoid. Ultimately it's your skin and your goals, you aren't working up to any level, just your personal skin goals.
I just checked out the Biossance retinol serum ingredient list and I see that both retinol and retinal are listed side by side. Maybe you know the real concentration of both ingredients, since retinal cannot be above 0.1% in a formula.
Retinol isn't appealing at all for eczema-suffering me, there are other options that don't cause that much irritation. Asian beauty in general doesn't focus on retinol.
Im actually so worried. Im a newbie and super sensitive dehydrated skin. I break out often and get congested easily so the only moisturizer that works is the cosrx snail cream. I stupidly bought the cerave retinol (the green one) serum. Is it too advanced? I do plan to use it with the cream still or with illiyoon(ppl said cica/ceramide is a must with retinol). Im 32 and trying to do well aging stuff now. Im just looking for something that helps with fine lines and breakouts. I will definitely check out the isntree retinok. But has anyone heard about or tried elizavecca retinol cream? I was thinking bout it
Hey Kelly This is kind of unrelated but do you know form where can i order the jkosummne toner and moisturizers. I am not able to reach their website at all. Are they out of business? It would be really helpful if you can clarify this.
No confirmation if they are out of business, but a quick search shows they aren't active on Instagram and are no longer being sold af Ohlolly. Looks like they could be!
It's interesting how different people's skins react. I had almost no side effects from adapalene other than a little bit dryer skin. Incredible video!

I wish you a speedy recovery. Skin heals. You got this!
Adapalene might be the best for you. I had severe acne and it changed my life. Be sure to start slow with whatever you choose though!
I'm using Retinal products now, much better than retinol. Now using Geek&Gorgeous A game 0.1% retinal serum and loved it. Will try Maelove moonlight retinal serum next.

Glad this helped! I haven't tried the GG retinols, but I'm sure they are quality based on the other products I've tried from them!
Love G&G A-Game 10. Love the results. Extremely fast shipping from them.
Another awesome video! Love BOJ eye gel. I do use it all over the face 😄
The Cosrx with Vit. C sounds good but really like the formulas with Retinal. Gentle but effective. 🙂
I am beginner in retinol please tell me it is safe to use BOJ eye serum in face and please tell me it is really effective
@Dipti Ghosh 👋 I can only speak to my personal experience but yes it is safe to use on the face and yes it is effective.
2 years and going on Tret💪🏾 I actually apply around my eyes and my undereyes look so smooth!
I'm amazed at how detailed your descriptions of (mostly) similar products are!

Thank you Kelly!! Kim am going to order Night Shift!! Loved this video!!!!
Enjoy, it's one of my favorite formulations!

Healthcare/Medicine/insurance is a completely broken system in the US, it's really unbelievable.
@@KellyDriscoll You said it! 😩

Please do "this or that" for Korean sunscreens

Just one request, can you recommend a few more retinol for beginners that don't have nicianmide. I'm allergic to niacinamide
I think Versed has a retinol serum without niacinamide. It’s super gentle so it’s great for beginners :)
good molecules has a gentle retinol cream that does not have niacinamide in it.
I also avoid niacinamide and use The Ordinary 0.2 Retinol in Squalane. Amazing results!
I'm 30 and still scared to start my retinol journey🙈
Vitamin C can be a worthy alternative, 5% of niacinamide is also a great collagen-stimulating ingredient!
U forgot good molecules retinol. It's quite good

I started adapalene a few month before my 23 birthday but I'm finding now (still 23) that the best age is 25.....I'm wondering if I should stop
What happens if you can't use retinol and Vitamin C can you tell us please Rebecca
