N/B.....You made your viewer be ware advise. .. many will still take it as a financial advise therefore..
1....When one deposits N1m with a stockbroker some part of it is used to pay transaction charges of the purchase.....so your actual is less than N1m.
If your purchase price of a share is higher than this average price used then your dividend yield will be smaller than say what you got.....so timing of your purchase matters.
2...Kindly educate our people ....your withholding tax on your dividend is paid to the state govt where your mailing address is.. ..so where do want your withholding tax be sent to.
Say eg..Home State Govt.. (Anambra)
or
State Govt of Residence..(Lagos)... Let us all ...Support our Home State govts through taxes on our dividends.

For Meyer, they didn't declare a dividend but because they sold an asset last year, they declared a special dividend .

Thank you I invested in Nigeria brewing but have not heard from them since 2014 I left Nigeria.I wonder what is now. Thank you again for sharing.
If you have not heard from them it means you did not fully register with them. You need to go back and start from the beginning, communicate with a stockbrocker, find out who the registrar for the company is etc. They will do KYC for you and then they will have your details to be sending you dividends including your past ones.

It can be for any reason. They can say that they are reinvesting their profit into the company. Such reasons can be found in their annual report and if the shareholders don't accept the reason they can protest during the annual general meeting. 😅

Oh really? Thank you for telling me. The Nigerian exchange group did not list it. Now that gives us 3.5% as dividend yield they paid for year 2021. Thanks once again, I just saw it in their financial report.

Once I take money down to Nigeria, it does not come back to Spain. So no impact on my Spanish taxes.

Flo, Do you know what will happen to shares that was bought about 20 years ago ?
20 years is a long time ago ooo but still, contact the registrars of the companies whose shares you bought and take it from there. Approach them with all the documents related to the shares. If you are lucky and the companies have not gone through a lot of mergers and acquisitions over the years, they can still locate them.

Not sure I got your question but yes, you need a stockbroker.
You did not say anything about first bank plc? Has first bank paid devidend?
I said that any company you do not see on the list did not pay dividend.
I have a share with first bank,they always lagging behind paying dividends,I basically had to drag them before they paid the previous ones

Quick question how do you recoup unpaid.divideds and do old dividends checks expire?
Just contact the registrars of the companies you want to claim their dividends directly. I find this method quicker. But you can also go through your stockbroker especially if you have some shares certificates that have not been dematerialised.
Dividend warrants of back in the day expired after 6 months but they are obsolete now. The money will still be held for you though.
