Can’t tell you how many videos I have watched on Brioche. The way you explain the “why” behind the method is soooo helpful. You really are an excellent instructor. Grateful.
Been knitting for 7 years. Found the pattern THE FLAMING HAT my first brioche project Boy I messed it up never could figure it out.... I had to get help but still was to much for me. I gave up on the pattern for now. So now I'm watching your vid and learning how to take it one step at a time. I think you are a great teacher. going to watch next vid right now!!!
Why didn't you show the actual cast on? All of that drawing and explanation was exhausting to watch and then you changed the working cord to a different color? I guess you didn't show the actual cast on because you didn't think it was relevant but, actually, it IS relevant.... I've seen two color Brioche cast on and it was definitely done differently! .... and then the setup rows transitioned very nicely into the ribs and the Brioche stitches. Unfortunately, my phone quit unexpectedly and I lost all of the saved videos and now I'm searching for the Brioche cast on that I was learning to do a couple of years ago when the phone quit.. I am returning to knitting after several years of not knitting and the challenges, at my age, and with my limitations is significant. I'll figure it out eventually. You did a great job on your charts, BTW, it was just overload for me, personally. Thanks for your tremendous effort.
Hi there! I didn't show a brioche cast on because that is not the one I use, if there is a special cast on. Most brioche patterns I have done start with a regular (usually long tail) cast on, and then do a set up row, and then add the second color. It's not that I don't thin it's relevant, for the methods I know, I have already made a video for long tail cast on, and as you have noted, there is a lot of other information in my videos. Some people like he drawings, some people like the actual movement with yarn, some both- the benefit of my videos (I feel) and UA-cam is you can move around in the video to the part you like best! You may be able to look through your recently viewed videos or history on UA-cam even if your phone dies, I'm not sure. I hope you find the video again, I know others such as Very Pink Knits and Modern Daily Knitting have great videos as well. ❤️All the best, thanks for watching!
