A tidbit for those of you that care...the vocal effect was a total accident. The second night of vocal recording, the engineer fired up the tape with an echo/reverb effect fully cranked. He actually apologized for it at the time! We thought it was killer. At the start of the song, if you listen closely, you can hear Frank playing drums half time (during the outro). What you hear is Frank's drums, thru Greg's headphones, bleeding onto the main vocal track. Total accident.

Given the sheer amount of comments over the years saying how this song applied _then,_ I think it’s fair to say that no matter what era you live through, times will always be destructible.

The song was always relevant, but the amount of lyrics that can be applicable literally rather than figuratively seems to be increasing over time. What remains is for the church part to become applicable...

One of the best things about the Nod campaign is finishing it and hearing this glorious track.
If anyone's old enough to remember, this era of music was pure octane and always cranked to 11. Was a match made in heaven that Frank would bring that sort of flavor into Westwood Studios for the development of C&C. For reference, even Smashing Pumpkins at the time was rolling this hard back when they recorded GISH, which in my opinion is still one of their most important albums ever. This song taps into that same sort of energy and makes me miss the 90's that much more.
Songs like this broke the mould that video game music didn't have to be in a certain formula as background noise, but that it could be fleshed out as fully realized masterpieces. This song of course being one of them.
There really is an energy to 90s everything, not just music. It invigorates you like nothing since.

When I was a kid playing this game there were times when I'd play through the final NOD mission just to hear this song again in the ending credits
GDI deserved a theme song just as awesome as this one. We got shitty "Airstrike" Instead.
That's why I saved the game literally just before killing the last enemy just to can listen to this awesome track, good memories!

Dead (Red) zones already begin to appear in the oceans (Dead (Red) Zone = near 0% oxygen in Ocean region / Lifeless region on land (some deserts in South America, where no life presented what so ever)), which is warning signal before catastrophe would begin...
This world can be doomed even WITHOUT Tiberium... And if we wouldn't act fast, Permian Catastrophe (Permian Extinction Event aka Great Dying) would repeat in even more devastating way...

@Motive11331 Honestly, I think Command and Conquer 3 was a work of art. The expansion, not so much... but the expansion had some crazy plot twists that made you go "Wait, what?!" when looking back at the grand story.
Command and Conquer 4.... that one... I... I don't even know if that deserves to be called a Command and Conquer game...... I'm ready to ignore its existence and continue to wait for them to finish the series some day.

@Ascyltos I know I might get "flamed" for this but my favourite C&C is Kane's wrath, the addition of other factions that work within the main faction. i.e Black Hand and the Marked are cool addon's to Nod, and visa-vi for GDI, Steel Talons and ZOCOM are pretty fun to play as too.
C&C4? First time starting the thing up and actually seeing the beggining and listening to the music made me think FFS but then I actually played the game. I started crying.

Great C&C titles were made since 2002 dude...rest of them are a pile of garbage from EA.
George Polyxronides Command and Conquer 3 and Kane's Wrath were great games. Red Alert 3, while a more light hearted game, was still fun to play. If you don't like those games, complain about it on the EA forums.
lol c&c 3 was great,red alert 3 was mediocre but at least it wasn't a total disaster like c&c 4
TW and Kanes wrath were the only decent games that spawned from EA and then after that it was just a clusterfuck and ruins any game company that try's to make a C&C game its sad because C&C was king of RTS back the day's.
