Just traded in my iPhone for a 9 Pro XL, and I couldn't be happier! The transition out of the ecosystem has been quite seamless to boot, even though I still use Apple everything else.
Pixel 9 pro XL here and i hate this phone because I'm addicted to it. DAMNIT! The cameras, modem, style, feel in the hand, screen, speed, responsiveness, smoothness, call screen, Bluetooth connectivity, battery life, and the blended AI features just have me acting like an addict!
I have no problems with my 8 Pro and didn't with my 6 when I had it, but I've heard stories. I want a 9 pro but not yet due for an upgrade so I'll probably wait for the 10 series. Great video and channel. Subbed. Btw your heeler dog looks very similar to mine but mines a mix. They're great dogs!
Something to think about Bro! My 16 PM has been pretty good but I’ve heard others having this issue all over Reddit. May be worth looking at resetting the phone before trying to sell it. Best of luck bro!

Really good video! Random question for you, but I'm assuming you're filming with the iPhone? If so, what settings do you use to get the video to appear so bright and clear. I've noticed that some iPhone videos that are uploaded have that look to it. Thanks!
@@ClintGibbs Hey Clint! Yes! I’m shooting on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This video was shot with HDR on, and 4k30. I used the 1x lens, have white balance locked, and have the exposure locked at -0.3 for the rear camera. I used the front facing camera for the headshots with essentially the same settings. I do very mirror edits as well to the color etc via the built in Apple photos app. Stay tuned for the video dropping today if you want to see how the Pixel 9 Pro looks and sounds! The key is to use 4k30 or 4k60 and you MUST have HDR on.
@ Man I just checked your channel and you’re huge! Thanks for checking out this rookie and liking the content! I typically usb c transfer it to my base M4 Mac mini or AirDrop it if it’s a smaller sized video, edit the video via CapCut free, then upload it directly to UA-cam studio via Mac OS and Safari. My first couple of videos I had so many issues uploading via Mobile that I kind of gave up on it. It would say processing for over eight hours and then I would have to restart it up to 10 times; rewriting, descriptions and everything. It was such a pain. I had this issue on my pixels and iPhones and I have fiber internet w/ WiFi 6. Very odd.
@ sweet. Thanks for the info. I’ve been testing the pixel 9 Pro XL and love it. But it’s hard to get away from the iPhone, particularly iMessage and AirDrop and video quality. Tough decision! BTW really like your style on UA-cam. Keep up the good work.
After having used every galaxy iteration since the s3 this year i decided id upgrade from my s22 ultra to the pixel 9 pro xl and ive been very happy with my decision. Yes samsung might have more bells and whistles but i used them less and less the pixel is a better phone for me. It just works! And the battery is absolutely superb
Very nice review! Design wise, the Pixel 9 Pro is a beautiful phone. Although I wish they had made the side rails matte, like on the regular Pixel 9, instead of gloss. If they had made it a bit smaller, say 5.8" it would have been perfect. Some complain about Tensor 4, but I think it's fine, I have a Pixel 8a and Tensor 3 is perfectly fine for all everyday tasks. Although, at Pixel 9 Pro's price, I would have preferred the Snapdragon SoC. For the next one it'll be great if they upgrade the camera sensors, especially the main one to 1"-type sensor. And the base storage should start at 256GB. Still starting the Pixel 9 Pro at 128GB was criminal. The Pixel 8 stuttering you mentioned at 5:32 is exactly why I skipped it. I am glad you mentioned it. Some people just don't notice it, but it is there, I tried multiple Pixel 8s, they all stuttered at 120Hz. It is not an isolated lemon case, it is all of them. It's not Android 14, because they still have the issue with Android 15. I think it has something to do with the Pixel 8's screen itself, and is not fixable. The regular Pixel 9 also stutters, like the 8. 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL don't. Interestingly, the 8a does not stutter and is actually very smooth; as smooth as the 9 Pro. The pass-through charging is how you described it. I tested it with my Pixel 8a. I wish there was an option to customise how much you want your device charged though, as currently the only option is 80%. I would have preferred a slider from 40% to 90%. Can you please share what power bank you are using at 13:28?I like its slim design.
Man. What a hell of a comment! I plan to do a 1 yr review on both of those 8’s so I’ll definitely be retesting and seeing if the lag is still there. I think you are definitely onto something. That’s why I brought up the inconsistent screen coloring as well... I think it just isn’t up to par with other devices. I definitely wish I brought up the storage as a detractor on my review. My 128 was full dang near a week in and that was just a couple of videos and a couple of games on the phone. (I always start my phones without a backup) I like how I can choose 80 85 90 95 on the iPhone for the battery charge limit. Anywho, thank you so much for watching and commenting! amzn.to/3DAGMh4 - Stupid slim design!
I'm using the 7 pro at the moment. I'm going to keep it until the 10 pro xl because they are switching the chip to TSMC. So the 3nm 2gen should be very good. I'm hoping that they opt for carbon silicon battery because it offers a huge battery upgrade. I hope they make the sides brushed metal instead of glossy. Hopefully they increase the base storage too.
That had to be a device issue cuz I've been running my pixel 8 pro on Android 14 and 15 and I had less bugs on 14 and I just started getting bugs when I downloaded 15. But the issues has resolved yourself and I'll go get the pixel 9 pro XL on my birthday in April
What's up, brother? Love your video review and analysis of this phone. Now, the pass-through charging..... Samsung introduced this with the S23 series where it works exactly as you explained. However, the Pixels charge up to 80% FIRST, then the pass-through charging kicks in. But otherwise, you have explained it correctly. Now that I've mentioned Samsung's pass-through, it is important to note that Samsung allows this feature for games, and the option can be found within their Game Lounge settings (or open settings and search for it). I THINK that one can bypass this limitation by adding certain apps to the Game Lounge (like Maps for Uber drivers), but I need to test this theory. Google treats all apps the same way, but as I mentioned, the battery will be charged to 80% first. Lastly, I'm not sure if you need to activate the 80% charging limit to take advantage of this, so I will go ahead and test for myself. Not entirely sure how I will implement this test, as the battery will be "fully charged" anyway. With Samsung's pass-through, some charge still goes to the battery, but it is VEEEERY minimal (like 1% every 50mins while gaming). Just my observations. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Perfect explanation! Thanks for adding your input Bro! I watched a couple of videos and read where people were talking about it as well but never really could pick up on the full details. Let us know what you find out further with your testing 🤝🏽 The only thing I can think of to see if it’s working, is based on the temperature of the phone? Like I’d expect it to be a lot cooler if this feature is working in the background. Heck who knows. Ha. Appreciate you!
How much of an improvement do you reckon the 10 series is going to be later this year? I mean they've improved so many things from the 8 to the 9 series, how much more can they do for the next generation? Kinda feels like it's gonna be more incremental than anything mind-blowing but I'm happy to be proven wrong by Google.
The only reason I’d upgrade is say I want to jump from a non XL to an XL AND for the new chip if it can offer better gaming performance. 🕹️ but other than that, idk how this phone can get any better.
Glad you love it bro! I've noticed a lot of people switching from ultra phones over to the pixels. What was your main thought of switching from your ultra over to the XL and not going back to a new Samsung?
This is definitely peak Pixel. It’s my favorite since the 4. It feels like Google is starting to really care about hardware versus the phone just being the vehicle to sell the software experience.
Google is on another level with their designs this year! Hoping I get added to #TeamPixel one day and can get a Fold from them to test? Hey a Man can dream. 😂Thanks for watching!
I'm really really really interested in this phone. I own the Z Flip 6 and I love it, but this is the phone that would pull me away if I ever decide to do so.
Sony Experia 1 vi and Experia 10 vi feel just as awesome if not better, build quality and form factor is just perfect I put the pixel 8 series and 9 series right after the Sony phones. All three of those are perfect in my opinion
I’d really like to try a 9 to compare it to this Pro, since the phone is, as I understand, using the same hardware and can even fit in the same cases. I do however like the matte sides on the 9! Thanks for watching!
Video Boost fixes the color, and a HUGE amount of noise, especially on the front facing video camera during nighttime, but that's not a good solution. The front cam video performance is totally disappointing tho. The noise is THAT bad, that it's hard to view it with such a waterfall in the frame.
I should have elaborated a little more in the review on why I was a little disappointed. For me it’s mostly the camera switching lenses while recording. I’d like Google to improve on that in the future and make it more of a smoother transition. Yup, video boost helps a lot, but I wish video boost was built into the camera to where you wouldn’t have to wait for the processing and it was all done on device automatically, instantly, if that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

I've got the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I love it but I've noticed that if u shake it even slightly somethin inside it starts 2 rattle and I'm concerned incase it breaks the phone
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the rattling should come from the optical (mechanical) stabilization for the cameras. Mine (P9 Pro) does this, too. The Pixel 7 (which I had before) doesn't have optical stabilization and it didn't rattle at all. So nothing unusual and you shouldn't be concerned. But, this is long-distance diagnosis, so take it with a grain of salt and check other sources for confirmation.
Don't understand why it only happens with the Pixel 9 Pro XL my Samsung S23 Ultra doesn't rattle if u shake it same goes 4 my iPhone 15 Pro must just be a Pixel thing
I'd use whatever is currently in your pocket! Both will be fine. The only issue with the pixels is that they start at 128 gigs, which a lot of other phones do as well but still, something to think about if you plan to shoot at 4k60 for example.
It is really great this time around, the December update further improved the animations also, they just need to fix the stuttery UI bug that's fixed per Google so should see this in the future update, maybe even in Jan soon.
I forgot to mention biometrics in this review. My face unlock has been great as long as there is some light around so the camera can see me. The fingerprint is milllles better than all of my old Pixels; and that's while using a screen protector. I think it's better than my OnePlus 7 Pro was from what I remember.

I have too in the past. This one is the best they’ve done. I highlighted the performance issues with Android 14 in this video and In my last video I highlighted a hardware issue on my Pixel as well but they did take care of me under warranty.
@Zerbijan Nope. I'm too small and not a part of #teampixel or anything, so these opinions are my own, and the device wasn't provided to me. You have to be somewhat biased to spend this much money on a product... Thanks for watching!

Had issues with pixels
I have too in the past. This one is the best they’ve done. I highlighted the performance issues with Android 14 in this video and In my last video I highlighted a hardware issue on my Pixel as well but they did take care of me under warranty.
Im so happy with my Pixel 9 Pro XL....!
I’d like to try the XL next time. Thanks for watching 🤝
feels like some paid promotion
@Zerbijan Nope. I'm too small and not a part of #teampixel or anything, so these opinions are my own, and the device wasn't provided to me. You have to be somewhat biased to spend this much money on a product... Thanks for watching!
