Ive been a flight attendant for 15 years and i can tell you training is no joke. If you follow the rules in training and don't get involed in other classmates drama. You wont have a problem. Dont worry but you will have to study different aircraft your airline flies ect. Times does go by fast so before you know it you are getting your wings. Good luck.❤
I just was sent home 2 days before graduation. The rules are no joke. I passed all my exams w no retakes, all the drills, sim flight etc. My downfall was forgetting to complete a wbt, having a non compliant efb and mistakenly thought I was in the other half of our class for uniform pickup resulting in getting marked late. I’m truly crushed but will reapply the moment I am able.
I think this has to do with the fact that - if you are not compliant with the small things - how can they trust that you will be compliant with the big things. Security and safety is everything and they will not be there when you are on your own in a real life situation where compliance may mean the difference between life and death on a flight.
I think considering I’m 43 and mature and I have worked a lot of different jobs it seems the complaints are from not following there rules. I’m sorry your friend got sent home but if you already have 2 infractions, why would you keep breaking rules? The airline specifically states what to do and what not to do! So why complain when they send you home if you broke the rules. Maybe she needs more time to understand accountability and she will succeed ! Just my opinion. Don’t mean to be harsh. Thank you for your feedback it was very helpful😊
I went through FA training in the late 80s. It was way more hardcore than I ever expected. We'd go to lunch and come back and trainees would just be gone! We were weighed on the daily. I was 5 ft 6 in and not allowed to weigh over 131 lbs. We were made to cut our hair, told what makeup to wear and how. It was HARD! It was a major life learning experience for me. Any little thing that wasn't perfect as far as emergency training was a reason to be sent home; not to mention your attitude, passing all tests and showing them you would represent the company as they wished. There were no "infractions" back then. You did one thing wrong, you were gone. I got my wings in August 1988, It was not easy. I flew for 5 years and only left because I couldn't afford to live on the money I was making. I look back with fond memories now.
Hey -- look --- when you are in a program like this when it is as serious as this training is --- they tell you up front about the rules but people still push the limit???? Do you want to be a FA or not?? I would never mess that stuff up to me that is easy picking stuff -- just get that stuff right every time.
🍋 It was strange to me to see people getting written up for easily avoidable things. I flew under the radar; I dressed business casual. I also have no piercings nor tattoos, so I didn't have to worry about that. Change is coming if only because there are more people that have piercings and tats than not.
Love your videos. I’m a fur baby daddy too. I fly “leanovers” AKA stand ups for that very reason. I can feed em, fly, take a nap, being the plane home, and give ‘em breakfast.
I remember at graduation they did a tattoo check , and woman were scrambling to find body makeup to cover them! Especially because we were required to wear the skirt at graduation.
Pod?? Yup you did SKYWEST AIRLINES 😂 same! But I promise you, if you past skywest youll pass mainline delta training too! It was so easy compared to OO! Go for mainline!
I am speaking as a former flight attendant. My take on this is that your friend knew she was breaking the rules with her double piercing, and tried to conceal it with her hair during training. (We could never wear our hair down during training). That final day, the fact she wore her hair up to show the piercing was as if she was blatantly disrespecting the rules. That was the say she should have been vigilant to be impeccable in the standards of the airlines. Training is extremely stressful, and everyone always talks about the possibility of being sent home - another reason I feel your friend was just pushing the envelope.
You can have the piercings but don't wear two or multi sets of earring at no time during training, right? The rules are the rules and the point is follow the rules while at FA training, in uniform etc, you are representing the airline not yourself and having that stance will help you remain aware & compliant.
She most likely was sent home FAA is based on Safety, if she violated those rules, where is the trust.. They most likely knew she had those piercing just waited on a time to sent her home last exam🤣🤣
Omggg, yes 🥹 He hates the camera lol but I will make a video about cat mom fa life soon. Check this video out ⤵️ Storytime:HOW I GOT A CAT ua-cam.com/video/vbjKlERMSCM/v-deo.html
Honestly, if u know how to follow rules & are able to have self control then you'll be fine lol if you can't do that then obviously you'll struggle & be sent home
Ms. P, 🎉🎉Do not know if this is the cupcake emoji you asked for as proof of seeing entire video but am very happy if you can instruct me as to where it is. First, YES YES YES. BOARDING PAY. !!!!!! Now, as to Sam and your being devil’s advocate - I also see both sides. BUT, if Mr. Mitch is enforcing that rule at that time, the FA instructor should have known about it and ensured that everyone had to show their ears in order to be compliant regarding piercings. I wonder if the instructor received any punishment just a thought. Herman
Yes, I forgot to mention that, the FA instructors were also reprimanded because it was a failure to fully inspect trainees on their end. So it’s not good for a trainee to say “ I’ve been doing this all this time in training” 🥴. They never ask to see your piercings but if they are visible ( hair up vs down) then it’s an infraction. Thanks for tuning in !!🧁💫
@@realpristine Well, some justice once in a while after all. If YOU were based here in SEA, I definitely would want us to be friends. You are QUALITY. Herm
Ms. P, can you clarify something that has confused me in the discussions. Let me give you my understanding and then you correct whatever I have misinterpreted, OK? At end of phase 1, FA gets their base award and then has to wait for some period of time to begin phase 2, the IOE. I suppose FA can go back home until told it is IOE time when there are about 4 days to be there and start. How long does IOE last? Is it A flight, several, a month of them? I figure you are being evaluated by instructor(s) in IOE. Does not FAA require certain number of hours for FAs to do some of these procedures like pre-flight emergency equipment checks, etc? Your education always appreciated. 😊❤ Herman
i have worked foR biggest regional and two mainlines they will send people home for the pettiest reasons and the reason they do that is to see if u r following rules. Some airlines won't even give u three chances to mess up during training. They want to see complacency. If someone is complacent about such a small policy which is an ear piercing, then they can be prone to being complacent about something big while at the job BECAUSE U HAVE NO SUPERVISORS. SO YES its unfortunate and looks petty, but its for a reason. was she allowed to come back next time?
Yea at my current airline on the graduation day this nut job guy all of a sudden became super rude and went off on one of the instructor! Right after the wing ceremony . They grabbed him and kicked him out right then and there ! I was like dude you thought that after earning your wings you can go off on instructors ? What were you thinking ! So yea one had to tread very carefully lol I was like I will believe it that I have a job when I’m off probation because they can drop you like a hot potato anytime any day no matter how good u r
This is crazy so many stupid rules. Like skirt to short, and wrong color of socks. Lucky Sam did not have to pay for flight training. They are so rigid.😮

I don’t feel sorry for her at all. There are two schools in society: those that listen, follow the rules (society) and those that don’t, and surprise, it’s always the ones that fail to follow the rules that seem to be the most surprised when they get called out. That’s why there are rules, so they have only themselves to blame. Mad? So sad! Grow up and take some responsibility for your actions!
