Great job! I enjoy the thought detail. There on plenty of install videos of this stuff the the "whys" go unanswered. It helps to know the why things are done as much as how. Thanks!
I have a scout and would have loved to have seen the actual install but I suppose it's similar to other bike installs with the exception of the control panel. Great lights! Considering this set up for mine.
If you slow the video down to a half speed and pay close attention you can see everything better. The reality is I filmed the whole install and accidentally formatted the drive and lost all the video. I wanted to die LOL
Yes, it does I installed leds on my bike boy man do drivers really look at you the red is the best IMO as it's like an extension of running lights and screams STOP.
Thanks for posting this! I’ve been thinking about adding lights to my bike since I ride a lot at night. I’ll definitely be using this for some reference!
Hi Brian, would you consider doing a little more in depth video of this install? Like cable routing from led to led and maybe how you connected to break lights. I think many Scout bobber owner would love that. :)
I didn’t connect to the brake lights. The two-zone system gives you a choice of brake or 2nd zone and we went with two zones. As far as cable routing honestly it’s as simple as figuring out where you want the lights and routing the cable where ever you can.
Hi Sprinkles, not yet. I did run a cable from the red “Brakes” cable of the controller to under the seat. Also, I ordered a switch because I may want to turn off that feature. I will be doing the install of the brake lights feature this weekend.
Placement is everything. I’ve seen some of the worst lighting jobs you can imagine. People paying to have it done poorly just breaks my heart. I try to do everything I can to our own bikes.
Stumbled on your video cause I wanted to get an under glow kit for my ‘18 scout, and I have to say, you do a good job at explaining what you’re doing while doing so. Cheers man, ride safe \m/
I placed a deposit and ordered a 2021 Indian Scout Bobber (Metallic Maroon Smoke) a few weeks ago (8-10 week delivery date). I'm tragically tech-tarded, so how much would it cost to have something like this professionally installed? It looks amazing! How long do they last?
I love that color!! Well as far cost goes everything is always based on hours and if you can find a guy that does this for a living I’d say you’re looking at 3-4 hours so maybe $400 for labor. You can find these guys at bike rallies or maybe you can find a shop to do them. Personally I wouldn’t trust just anyone at a dealer to do them right. I’ve seen several dealership jobs that are awful. Ask around, when you see a nice bike set up properly ask who did it, that kinda thing. Take your time finding the right one. Or… do it yourself. When I did my first one I had no clue, but I knew what I wanted it to look like. Hey, don’t forget to use our Amazon link to purchase, thanks for watching!
This is a great video, thank you! Did you have to remove the tank at all? Wondering about feeding power to the controller if it's at the front of the bike, cheers 👍
I did not remove the tank, I just ran the wire in that fabric sleeve from the headlight back to the battery compartment. I followed that line down the front of the bike, under the bike
Hummm.... Since you've done the smaller one's seems "a" Roadmaster is next on the list. =D Looks great Brian, and congrats Barb on another good looking machine.
By any chance do you know how to set a timer where it automatically shuts off after a certain amount of time pls?? I emailed the xk people and they said you set a timer in the app but I cannot seem to find “said” timer on the app
The only feature I see is an auto-shut off that turns off the lights 5 minutes after the connected phone (BT) is no longer detected. I do not see an adjustable timer that you could set your desired time limit. Just checked and confirmed.
You really did a great job with the wiring and placement of the lights. I watched purely out of "morbid curiosity" because I wouldn't be caught dead with anything like this on my ride. Very entertaining though.
Thanks, most people that don’t like lights say nasty things LOL, very kind of you! I do ride with lights at night on my Springfield but I do it for safety, they stay bright white. This is my wife’s bike and she likes the colors.
Once you get into the mentality of function over form you don't let things bother you. I got these installed on my bike. At night time everyone is staring that's what I want. Folks give you more space and are more kind imo. it's an interesting experience. I prefer the pods better as they are continuous. Once you mount one pod you just keep extending from the last pod. ua-cam.com/users/shortsFCNEiQNXlac?feature=share Here's my bike. With the loud exhaust and lights folks slow down to just look. Physiological indeed.
My question is where do I connect the red wire for the brake light so they all turn red when braking. Is it the orange wire from the turn signal connections. Sorry I have to ask but I'm no mechanic or electrician. Please help if possible.
Not at all. The on/off button is a hard switch and no current flow occurs when defeated. I’m laughing at the irony of your avatar and this question. LOL 👍🤣😎
@@TwoIndians great video and the lights look great on your scout. The only question I have left is the wiring behind the headlamp. Not too well with electrical quite yet.
I think you could've done a slightly cleaner install. Lucky for you I have a brand new scout in the garage that you're welcome to redeem yourself on... 😆👍
Hi guys. Love the channel. I put led lights on my Roadmaster at Sturgis this year. Your video makes me want to put these XK Glow LEDs on my wife's Vanderhall. Does your Amazon page have the KS-CAR-PRO kit from XK ($329.99)? I can't seem to navigate well and would like to support the channel. Thanks, Dan
It’s a solid 3/10 for me. It’s just time consuming. This is the third bike I’ve done so for me it goes pretty quick but in my mind it’s just planning where I want the lights and taking the time and patience to get the wiring positioned in the most discrete way. Electrically all you need to do is get power to the main controller, that’s a +/- to the battery. That’s it. The on/off switch connects to the controller. Put them near each other. Piece of cake
So would I be ok hooking my led powers to headlight extra outlet? I have a 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Sixty. Indian told me DO NOT PUT LED ON MY BIKE, because the computer can't take it. 🙄
Aftermarket accessories should always be connected directly to the battery or a fuse box or interface. I would not connected to a 12 V port that runs through the computer or is monitored by the computer on the bike
@@TwoIndians thank you! Jeff Donahou recommended you to me and said I should watch this. I dis notice that I had an extra power source in the headlight. I will hook it up to the battery and put the switch where you placed yours. Thank you for your help, this is all new to me. I also have the manual and a few others helping me out after posting my question on the Indian Scout Bobber site.
do you need that?.....No......Do you need a motorcycle?.....No........= .....illumination is now included in my wishlist, after BBK 116 and quick release batwing fairing :-)

I forgot to cover the safety aspects of this also. thats one of the main reasons i have it

Great video , that’s exactly what I want on the exact bike I want. Thanks for putting this out. Looks incredible! 😍👍🏼
You’re welcome. Click on the Amazon link and help support our channel. Thanks!
well done, I would love to add this to my Scout Rogue
I wanna do this to my bobber. Thanks for the video.
Go for it!

Hey Brian, thanks for the reply. Yes, I was hesitant at first but one I started it was smooth sailing. Appreciate it! Great videos, keep them coming!
BTW - The 2 zone option still allows the smart break feature but not the turning signals (Black and Yellow cables) Happy Holidays!!!
I came here to see if you connected the brake lights! I have lights on mine now but they aren’t yet hooked up to the brake lights

Nice vid and good information. I have the chief bobber and I think this kit with the blackout will look awesome.
I think you are correct!
Nice! I'm getting my ninja 650 done as well with the 2-in 1 led lights from them as well on sat! 😊 didn't know about the fl thing and I live here lol.
Sweet! Are you doing it yourself?
@@TwoIndians nah I'm afraid with wire work on my bike. Taking it to a place called chrome glow recommended by xkglow themselves.
That’s awesome! Well done 👍🏼
Looks amazing!
Hi Brian I sold my scout three weeks ago. I got my IBA package about 10 days ago. It took 3 months to the day.
you getting anything else?
Great job looking great as usual
Nice work sir. You also speak well. Dig the bobber!

Yes, correct.

@@TwoIndians great video and the lights look great on your scout. The only question I have left is the wiring behind the headlamp. Not too well with electrical quite yet.
All you really have to know is that you need to get power to wherever you locate the controller. Just two wires, positive (red) and negative (black)
Will these drain the battery?
I’ve had these lights on for several hours at a bike night and no problem.
