Just became a first time father to my beautiful daughter a couple of days ago. Listening to this song captures the feeling pretty damn well. It hit me like a ton of bricks last night. It doesn't matter how tough of a man you think you are, or how impenetrable you think your defenses are, the moment you have a daughter it is game over. She has you and there's nothing you can do about it. She instantly becomes your biggest weak point that could crumble you just by existing. No other being alive can do this to you the way your daughter can. I became crippled at the realization that she had just become my entire world, my biggest love and therefore my biggest weak spot. I would do anything and everything for her and man is that a scary thought to know that someone who's only been alive for 24 hours can do that to you.

She is turning 1 tomorrow and I'm a mess 😢 it's been a great year but it really did go by way too fast. At tomorrow's bday party for her, it will he just family and some friends, but I'm afraid I won't be able to keep it together. I'm afraid I'll see her life in a snapshot when we start singing happy birthday and as I'm making this a core memory for myself as well as her, I'll be envisioning the handing off of car keys, the graduation, first day of school, every single memory that comes with having a kid and the speed at which it will all of a sudden feel like it's happen will become too much to bear.
Ultimately, I'm grateful that she's healthy and that we have the loving family that we have and I'm looking forward to celebrating her tomorrow. Just, if you guys find out about a pause button on this thing just lemme know because where'd the time go?
I got a 29 year old daughter with her own 3 year old daughter. I made a lot of mistakes over those early years but man do we have a great relationship Would not trade it for the world! Oh and i loooove watching her with her own daughter. Luna is the best granddaughter any man could ever want. Thanks jade for all the good times and times to come. Praise God!!

Man being a father to a daughter is the absolute coolest thing I have ever done. True love, especially after growing up with 2 brothers. Which we just found out my oldest brother is expecting a daughter. Each of us will all have daughters and I am so excited to watch them all grow up together.

Currently sat in bed with my husband and 7 month old daughter, it’s nearly 8am in the UK 🇬🇧 We’ve been so excited for this new album! Every single song is written with such heart and honesty and somehow they’re all completely relatable too. But this one hit hard. My husband especially, is a huge careerist as a stop motion animator & having a baby was a huge deal to his career. This song totally encapsulates the emotions before and after parenthood and is simply stunning.
Whilst we were all listening to it for the first time in full, our daughter just went “Da-da!” As clear as day. Making the song even more memorable to us 💛
Also forgot to mention that we had “Forever like that” as our first dance song at our wedding last year, after going through a lot to get to that point (as so many others also struggled with thanks to covid.)
