I would LOVE a stick foundation roundup comparing Westman, Merit, Fenty, Ilia, Tom Ford to each other, what sort of skin you think suits each, etc.!
THIS THIS THIS! I'm not the biggest fan of liquid foundations (i'm not the best at it tbh) and it is just so satisfying!
This. That Tom Ford foundation stick has been on my maybe list for at least a year!
@@beatdizzyIt is so worth the $$. It’s the only stick foundation I will continue to purchase. If you have a CCO store near you. Sometimes, the discount there is great.
Yeeeeees!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Omg yes please!!!
I think the distinction between makeup is a hobby and makeup as a business is so important! It helps me quench the feeling that I need what a UA-camr has.
YES! I really don’t need 5 different highlighters! I am trying to do a ‘no buy’ month.
@@mocuishle1028girl I respect what you're doing, but how do you buy new products every single month? 😭 That feels like really intense consumerism that it got to the point where going one month without buying new stuff is a challenge for you
Oh my gosh, thank you for putting my feelings into words! I think you’ve just saved me some money, lol!
That is everyone on UA-cam everyone is an expert. The true muas aren’t on here babe they are working and making money. Mediocre can’t do they do UA-cam. They literally like everything.
As far as shades ranges I work with so many dark skinned gals and over the years I knew 1 that wore makeup.
That's such a helpful way to think of it.
I barely even need any products but I'm still trying to find things I MIGHT need🙄 lol
In the age of influencers who "love" everything... Kackie's discernment is appreciated
💯
A woman of discernment 🖤
I’ve never hit pan on a blush…we need smaller products in general given the fact that everyone’s collections have grown in size and people aren’t using up their products in general. But yes, price per ounce was a big change.
I’d rather have variety in my collection with smaller (and hopefully more accordingly affordable) products.
I totally agree! But emphasis on affordable.
It's a change by comparison to the original, but you're still getting a good amount of product at 5 g for $32 ($6.4/g). It's close to the Too Faced Cloud Crush price point ($29 for 4.82 g or $6.02/g). The Armani blush is $39 for 3.6 g or $10.83/g.
Except Haus Labs blush was originally 11g for $38 and now you get less than half the amount at 5 g for $32. That's only a $6 difference. I'd rather have the larger size. .@@lilnitemakeup
I get this for blush or highlighter, but not everyone has a large collection and we want makeup to be worth it. I don’t want a smaller foundation bottle or pressed powder compact (looking at you Charlotte Tilbury lol)
I tried the foundation stick for a few days and broke out on my forehead, nose and chin. Haven’t had acne all over ever even as a teenager. I was informed that the top ingredient in this foundation is acnegenic. Also agree with the shade range. I have a light skin tone and was matched somewhere in the middle of the range haha. Had to return it unfortunately. It’s a beautiful foundation but be careful if you have sensitive/ acne prone skin.
everytime you say "thank u for my current subscribers" i just scream (in my head) thank YOU Kackie
🥹🥹🥹 thank you!!
I’m OBSESSED with the fenty eaze stick. I wear that merit skin glow and then the fenty eaze stick just melts so beautifully into my skin, it is perfection!!! Would love to see more of it on your channel 😍
I want to try the merit great skin but I’m worried it will break down my sunscreen. Have you found that at all? My sunscreen is tinted & mineral.
How do you like the packaging of the merit skin glow? I’ve been wanting to get it for awhile, but see that is a big complaint on the reviews.
I saw several people on Haus labs blush say, they liked it smaller because it’s more travel friendly. Great. Except you’re still paying almost the same for a lot less. As well, your average consumer isn’t traveling so much that, that is a quality to justify the change
I like the size difference, hate the price to size comps.

Gosh I was so excited when Haus Labs re-released the blushes specifically but DAMN I had no idea they were soooo much smaller. Insulting is absolutely correct in my estimation as well.
I agree. I mean a person "saves" $5 now? for 7 grams less of product. Granted most people will not use up their blushes, STILL the math side of me screams NO!
@shandel499 absolutely! I completely agree. I know that I'll never finish a blush but seriously 😡😡
I loooove a stick foundation, I’m so glad they’re back in fashion. I’ve been using the Makeup For Ever one because it’s all there was on the market for a long time (and it ’s good but it stinks) and I love that we have so much more choice now! (Or at least if we’re caucausian, apparently 🙄). Those sticks are fabulous to perfect your skin where you need to and work with a skin tint without adding coverage everywhere.
So happy to see you try the Haus Labs “fire moon” blush! Contemplating whether to pick it up. 🤔
Hybrid texture starter pack?
YES PLEASE.
New mom here, and I just want something that doesn't look god-aweful obvious when life is interrupted and I only have a half done face...
Omg I’ve never felt so seen by a comment hahaha. Not me answering the door with one eye full lash mapped and one bare as hell 🤣🤣🤣
I thought the Haus labs blush was reformulated without a specific ingredient... I hate the fact that the blush is so much more expensive per gram...and is it so hard to ask for a nude or lighter blush? They are all so bright coloured.
I was so concerned about rattily natalie!! I am so happy she is back!!!
Tiny, tiny package….that’s what she said😂 so funny😂 Lol
oooh i hadn't noticed the septum piercing until you pointed it out! i think it looks absolutely lovely on you
SAME ! It does look lovely, and as a soon to be 38 yo, I LOVE the fact that Kackie still went for it in her mid thirties, that rocks !
I always appreciate your honesty and candid thoughts.
I love watching your try on videos while getting ready because its like talking about and playing with makeup with a friend
Adding to the Haus Labs conversation, the fact that they got rid of the darker shades and added two more lighter ones instead? I am hoping they re release the old darker shades with the newer packaging but like... it all looks very suspicious and it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth in terms on what the brand is doing these days with the pricing and everything.
I have very similar septum jewelry in my piercing that I got a few years ago and am over the moon with it, so I totally feel you!
Probably going to try the la mer lip gloss during the sale 🫡 I am a v fancy lip gloss girl. Also the givenchy gloss is MY FAVORITE and I’m so excited that they added two shades with shimmer 🌟
Was totally waiting for this ilia review!
I love the Fenty stick so much. The only thing that sucks about sticks is that a lot of product is inaccessible towards the end. I took a spatula and depotted the Fenty and there was so many applications left that your finger or even the smallest brush couldn't reach. So ladies, do this with any stick product you have.
I bought a set of cheap spatulas off Amazon and they have saved me so much. So much serum and definitely foundation tries to hide at the bottom. I hate when a company intentionally makes it impossible to open, & then I have to crack it open. But I get all my dollars’ worth.
Smart move!!!@@celinag9968
I live for these new at Sephora videos seriouly
I just watched your Best of Coral/Peach blushes from last year & what an awesome video... added a few to my Sephora cart!!👏🏻☺️🧡🛍💄💸
Do you own Bare Minerals kiss of copper? That shade looks very similar to the new Haus Labs shade, but more shimmery.
Cannot wait to see you review the RMS bronzers. They look sooo yummy. But I feel it in my gut that it’s going to have shimmer. Womp womp.
Also. I’ve been served a barrage of ads on instagram for this company called AlleyOop? Maybe. But anyway, they say it’s Thrive Tubing Mascara but way more feathery? Food for thought for you.
Also. Also. Chanel makes a tubing mascara. And it might actually be my favorite tubing formula ever.
@@blanq.kanvas whaaat? What is the name of their tubing formula? Xx
@@beatdizzy AlleyOop ‘Go the Distance’
Such a helpful review, particularly the difference in your experience with a different application technique
I'm wondering how the Ilia compares to the Merit stick foundation/concealer combo... Especially since the Merit is cheaper.
Love the septum 💛
Squeeee! Your septum piercing looks so pretty! Mine is also snug...it just catches the light sometimes in a pleasing way. I'm verrrry attracted to that Kulfi clear brow gel with its built-in brush and comb situation.
I would love to see a video on all of your favourite peachy palettes 🧡
Ivm loving the ILIA complexion stick, agree the Fenty one is 👌Thanks for the Houslabs, RMS and BareMinerals blush comparisons, think I need one of the RMS ones!
I am obsessed with that sunscreen because of you. It takes forever to come from yesstyle
So, a little insight to the haus labs blushes. They launched them as a limited edition offering to test the market and since they did so well they made them permanent. However, we need to remember these brands only have so much gondola space in sephora so making the products smaller allows for new products in the future. They also lowered the prices of the blush so you are NOT paying the same amount for less product.
Yeah, we're actually paying more since the cost per gram is higher.
I also got lucky that I bought most of the haus labs shades when they released lol including the dark berry ones.
Love the new piercing! I bought the Ilia stick yesterday and literally just finished doing my makeup with it before seeing this video pop up lol, I applied it with a mixture of swiping directly on my face or on my finger to apply to more direct areas and then blending out with a sponge, and it was trippy watching the lightest shade perfectly match my neck 😳 I like it so far but it’s a touch cakey, I’m not a brush-for-foundation person but I think I need to finally invest in that BK brush, the application looked great on you!
I have 3. they make an awesome cheek brush, it's great for cream bronzer & base products. The 101 is. my fave base brush cause it's so freaking huge!!!!!!
@@Beautyonthebrain_ Nice!! Would you say it’s easy to get a streak-free application for foundation with it? I’ve never been able to achieve that with a brush, I pretty much always just use a sponge
I love that you did your makeup today on practically bare skin! I don’t use foundation or concealer at all. Just powder blush, eyeshadow, and a little translucent setting powder. I’d love to see a full face like that, and do you recommend putting a small layer of powder down before going in with blush(that’s what I do) or putting the powder on top only. For reference, I’m almost 46, no blemishes I’m concerned about hiding, and have very combo/oily skin. My skin prep is lots of small layers of hydration and SPF, before makeup everyday when I wear it. Otherwise, I go bare face with just SPF. Everything slides off my face, even powders, so I try to keep things light and barely noticeable. Just enough to enhance my features. I’d love your take on it, even though I know we have very different skin types and tastes.
Ami Colé came out with a foundation stick as well ! It is catered to darker skin girlies but it is beautiful! I can’t wait until she expands the color range to lighter
skin tones !
Fire Moon is my spirit animal. Period. Another great one, Kackie! P.S.- I just got a sample of the Prada Foundation (DC70) because Sephora was out of stock. I can't wait to put this on my face!😁😋
Hey Kackie! How does Fire Moon compare to Chanel Beige & corail blush from last fall? Love youuu ❤
i want the melt tea
Kackie do you think the Ilia stick would work well as a kind of concealer with the Kosas BB cream? I've been loving the Kosas but not sure if the two textures would compliment each other.
Haus Labs could've tackled the price/cost issue a way that didn't seem so grabby. For example, Haus could've created a 2-pan refillable component which we could fill with our choice of two cheek shades in a small pans - and charge $47. I'd pay $47 for two Haus shades in one sleek compact. I won't pay $70+ for two of today's compacts.
Nothing to do with this video but wanted to share a decent dupe for the triple lipid restore if your wallet is feeling sad: la roche posay baume with cica. My super dry skin likes it almost as well and is a little less red using it compared to the skinceuticals.
I just discovered the LRP Baume this winter and it saved my mummy dry skin. Along with korean milky toner. Nothing else was working: oils, creams, serums.
copying & adding to my next drugstore list
I will say that for those of us who are extremely pale, with a cool/neutral undertone, the ilia stick foundation has a perfect match. They have extra fair shades. I have the WA in 0, and it’s a shade too dark.
Ilia's stick foundation in Hickory is the best shade match that I've had in a foundation stick because it's olive undertone and light medium. I was disappointed with the Basma one, I had high hopes for that one. Only complaint about ilia is that it's a bit dry.
I was interested in the ilia, after this, I’ll stick with my fenty! 😅😊
Kackie! Can you do a foundation stick comparison video? The Ilia looks beautiful but it has lavender. I’m also curious how it compares to Fenty, Basma, Merit, etc. 👀😊
Ugh the Haus Labs blushes were my everything (in the old packaging)… new ones… patchy mess I’m soo upset 😭😭 I had to redo my entire makeup because the new ones ruined it
Interesting, that’s how I felt about the old one, it was so bad for me that I got rid of it and don’t want to try the new one. Maybe it depends on the color? Because I can’t imagine the new one to be worse than the new 😫😂
A powder blush takes years to pan. I don’t mind smaller blushes 🤷🏼♀️ In fact I’d love all makeup to come in mini size so I don’t waste it
The basma foundation stick is such a good shade match on me. But it creates Polka dot pores. I use skincare and primer underneath. Not sure how to fix?
Which exact shade are you using in the Givenchy lipgloss…luminous pink or the spicy maple. I’m confused since yours looks coral.
Very helpful video, Kackie! I've been eager to see reviews on the Ilia foundation stick. I often use the same shades as you, so I was especially interested in your experience with it. I love stick foundations, but I've yet to find the perfect match. Tom Ford's comes close. It's a mite peachy, but it's a great foundation despite the big price. Basma's and Fenty's are fussy on my textured skin. Westman Atelier's, which I didn't buy but took home a sample, was kind of hard to work with, but the match was good. Another good stick is by Ogee. It's expensive and has a nice formula. However, the shade range is pathetic. The lightest shade is a little too dark and peachy. The biggest drawback for me is the smell. I guess it's a spa-like scent, but to me, it smells like weed-saturated clothing. I do want to try Ilia's stick and hope the formula and shade will be compatible with my "mature" skin. Thank you for the informative demonstration!
The ilia for me is my new holy grail! I loooove it, more than my tom ford stick. The WA and the fenty are sliding on my face during the day. The ilia one is perfection for my skin.
I agree. It’s absolutely beautiful for my
Skin. I happen to combine with the WA and it’s my new holy grail face makeup.
What kind of skin do you have? Dry, oily, combo...?
@@hbarlaam dry, sensitive skin with rosacea
Mine is combo
I love the finish it gives because it’s not mat, it’s very skinlike , and after 5 hours of work with a mask, it’s still there
I have been thinking about the petite stacks from melt. I am an indie eyeshadow only girlie. I am 52 and still live for all of the multichromes, etc. although the stacks are neutral, duo and multi chromes go well with boring browns when in a hurry.
So, very interested on your take on them. Just because I honest engine trust you. ❤❤ edit to say: I purchased the new Caliray concealer/color corrector and I really love it! It really is what it’s meant to be. How often does that happen?! 😊
I looove Melt and wish Sephora carried more. I’m excited about the foundation stick, I always have one for travel. Right now I have Merrit but it pulls too warm on me and I need more neutral. I try to only shop Sephora during their sales for big haul like buys because even with the discount, it’s a lot and adds up, but have you seen drugstore prices lately? Crazy!
I’m so happy the blushes are smaller now. They were way too big before.
I bought the Ilia stick and it really needs something very moisterising underneath.
But what does the haus lab blush look like compared to guerlains new blushes? 🤔
I'm so bummed about the Haus Labs blush...I've been wanting it for so long and by the time I decided for it, it was sold out and I was okay waiting for the repacking/reformulation....but like...is it worth it now?!
Nars is apparently coming out with new eyeshadow sticks would that be something you would be interested in reviewing?
In the video Kackie says Ilia’s 9N Tupelo is the next neutral shade after 4N Holly, but there is another neutral shade in between Holly and Tupelo, 6N Aspen. I think I will be picking up this product in 6N during the sale! ❤
Hi Kackie! What shade do you wear in the Hermes Healthy Glow?
The lightest one. Tottori?
YES!!! septum piercing gang
Was there a color similar to Fire Moon in the Benefit Box Blush line? Terra, maybe?
Any ideas for a shadow similar to that stunning olive brown in the melt stack? Preferably in a single but i know that’s a reach
Okay you just sent me on a swatch mission in my stash. And I have good news: MAC Dazzle Style is a dead ringer with a slightly different finish, and if you have ABH rose metals, the shade NOVA is also dead on.
@@kackieHEROOOO
The classic Zelda-chess-opening tune made me choke on my coffee 🤣🤣🤣 kinda want to revisit Ilia again now…and yeah HL lost the plot with that price increase on such a tiny blush presentation :/
Loving the septum piercing! You and Tom both look amazing with one. Also, I’m finally saying the creepy thing that I have heretofore successfully inhibited - I think you have an incredible nose!
Actually it looks repulsive and I can’t watch you anymore. Gross 🤮
“They watched precisely none of the video” 😂😂😂😂
Ysl bronzer??? Help!!! I want to but but will 01 be too warm?
I’m wondering if anyone has compared Haus Labs Fire Moon to PML Paradise Venus. I have the PML, but the Fire Moon is calling.
I will never spend 90 bucks on a lip gloss, great googly! My limit is 49 on a Gucci lip stick.❤❤❤❤ Staying with my replacement only buying for now.
I think my life is complete. A beauty content creator used the word “anthropomorphize” in a video. If there is not a reference to Plato by the end of the video, I might be slightly disappointed…
Working out the cost of makeup gram for gram is SO important... the Hermes bronzer is actually cheaper than the VB by a whole £1 per gram, because the Hermes is HUGE. (I now need to run and buy it before Hermes realises this and doubles the price).
I adore your videos, they take me to my happy place. I am, however, a greying 72 yr old Irish girl with blue eyes and pink undertones, and have some confusion conveying your warmer looks and products to my colouring. Any tips would be appreciated please.
So glad you can admit you were born with HCT: High Chaos Tolerance 🤣🤣🤪🤪
U CAPTIVATE ME❣️❣️
One of the first videos of urs I saw was review of the BareMinerals Blonzer n u’d mentioned u liked it then.. what happened?
Great video. I definitely am passing on the MELT stack. It feels like such a throw back. And I’m not falling for the Haus Labs blush ripoff. I have three of the original colors and that is good enough for me. As far as the La Mer Serum, I’m on the fence. I wish it had a bit more color payoff for $90. The Ilia is interesting - maybe for the Sephora sale.
👍🏻✨🌟 thanks
🧡
Has anyone compared this to Merit? That is what I’m super curious about!
The blush color reminds me of Patrick Ta She’s So LA (which I’ve been trying to dupe bc I CANNOT get that formula to work for me) & ABH Peach Caramel (which is the closest I’ve found to the Patrick Ta). Don’t think you have those colors in your collection for swatch comparisons…
❤❤
Shrinkflation got to make up too !
The Haus Labs blushes are $44 cdn ugh, still so expensive. I’ll probably get the new shades but I’m not happy about it lol. Also, did you notice that the Melt stack isn’t on Sephora? JK, I watched the whole video! ❤
Just started watching but before the adhd kicks in, that brown from the melt stack irritated my eyes so bad! I was able to just get a refund even though I wanted to return it but then it went away. They haven't had a steady formula since they moved away from their initial stack eyeshadows and the last one that even seemed to be a solid palette is the rust palette. They just aren't advancing their products to keep up with competition and aesthetics can only take you so far. I really loved Melt for so long but I just can't spend my money on their products anymore. Even their gel liners, which I have every single color of except for the last two releases, have changed and it's just not as good. I can't even get most of their complexation products because nothing seems to be tailored for cool undertones. I just hope they work on their formulation because other indie brands have been able to do it and do it better.
❤❤❤
I won't pan 11g or 5g of blush, it makes sense to me, I'm happy 🤷😅
it seems haus shot themselves in the foot by releasing them that large the first time around. Anyone new to the brand wouldn't know any better, and its a typical blush size but compared to the bronzer and even the highlight the price makes no sense. not that it will stop me from purchasing because that fire moon color is divine and il never finish a blush to care but still
Fun
I am not really an anti for the Haus Labs, like who finishes a blush that size?? I also love the repackaging bc it feels nicer and fancier lol so it is more wasteful bc it attracts ppl who own a lot go blush and won't go through a full one, but also that is very much me.
The cynic in me thinks that haus labs saw how well the blushes did initially, said woah, let's make these limited edition! And then, sneak attack. Bring them back smaller and slightly less money so people can't see us price gouging them.
adding another comment for a stick foundation roundup please
That melt looks difficult

any time someone talks about tax deductions (holy shit i still haven’t done my taxes) i hear david rose saying “no one…. you write it off”
I have the regular La Mer Lip Voluminizer.... First ingredient is PETROLEUM😮. For an expensive product from an expensive brand we could expect something more noble when it comes to ingredients? I will use up mine and not repurchase. Then Givenchy lip perfetto made me choke so badly that I had to get rid of all my Givenchy velvet lipsticks which used to be a favorite.
The amount of blush in the initial LE release was a ridiculous amount of product. It was a bad business decision on their part in the first place. It's also not any different than the price and amount of any other blush on the market, they changed it to be more in line with what you already get from every other brand. I'm not going to be mad at Haus Labs specifically, if anything thank you Haus Labs for reminding us all how stupid the price of makeup is. Unless you want to just be mad at Haus Labs exclusively and ignore how over priced every other blush is...for reasons...
