      It really is! I used it on Paul's back later and he's obsessed. I didn't do the coffee infused oil because I hate when something smells too strong of coffee and then it sticks to you all day.

    Dont put apple cider vinegar, baking soda, or lemon on your face. Even if it seems like its helping for now it's super damaging and you'll notice in the long run

  • @iolite13
    @iolite13 6 років тому +46

    This video is nice but oh my god please don't use lemon, baking soda, apple cider vinegar and coconut oil on your face. Lemon is photosensitive and very acidic, baking soda is quite basic (in terms of pH) and there is a reason people use it as a DIY detergent ingredient. Apple cider vinegar is also very acidic (ethanoic acid) and should only be used when its very diluted down and coconut oil is also comedogenic (blocks pores).
    Try things like making an oatmeal mask which doubles as a scrub and has hydrating properties, also witch hazel and rose water make for good toners too. Shea butter is also a good alternative to coconut oil on the face since its non-comedogenic.

    Please don't put baking soda or lemon on your face! Those are both much too harsh... The pH of both are so bad for your skin.

    • @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz
      @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz  7 років тому +1

      Thanks Marci for the tip - everyone's face is different! This actually helped me through an insanely rough period but I no longer use it.

    • @shannh6724
      @shannh6724 7 років тому +2

      Marci Parks Did you not know that everyone is different? As well as there is NO law stating this.

    • @marciparks3377
      @marciparks3377 7 років тому +2

      MsShaye H there is no law! I was just hoping that other would read this and not damage their skin like I did mine. My dermatologist recommended the same for anyone because of the harsh pH.
      You can obviously put whatever you like on your face though, it's yours.

    • @shannh6724
      @shannh6724 7 років тому

      Marci Parks Ok just because YOU messed your skin up doesnt mean she will. Your dermatologist don't know about everyone's skin. We are all different. If its working for her, then how can you assume she's messing up her skin?

    • @marciparks3377
      @marciparks3377 7 років тому +5

      MsShaye H I'm pretty sure a dermatologist can talk about EVERYONES skin. It's their job.
      There are many articles in medical journals detailing the damage skin care products with incorrect pH can do to the skin! I would love to link some reading for you... but I feel bad because I can't find any that are free access.
