I am not an expert by any stretch but I believe your description of the ram is incorrect. DDR 5 is dual channel, sure. But the 5600 Mhz speed is not two 2800 Mhz dimms. They both run at 5600 Mhz. What I think you'll find (I just bought a Gem12 Pro, though no tests yet) that these systems can't really handle 5600 mhz, so you see them outfitted with the 4800 Mhz kits quite often. This could be just a cost savings measure but I thought i had watched a test showing that they can't hit top speed. Until I can show you, grain of salt this.
@@chazmcdaniels6173 Hi, i don t know where you got these infos, but it is not the reality, maybe you can check my GMKtec K8 Plus video and ""DUAL"" RAM is clearly 2.800 Mhz per RAM stick you can read the specs in the HWINFO App ( Footage available in my video review. About DDR5 with these Models you are wrong, 4800 Mhz is DDR4 Nax speed ( Check google) and once again you can watch my other reviews on the GMKtec K8 PLUS or GEM 12 and pay attention to HWINFO and HWMonitor data sensor that are showing Minimum, Average and Maximum value for RAM and you will clearly read 5600 Mhz at Max collected data. It is true that some DDR5 RAM will not deliver 5600 Mz either because of Bios RAM limitation setting or RAM spec ( Low tier), but it is not the case with these Aoostar and GMKtec Models which are shipped with branded Crucial RAM.
@Ghost-Keyboard Thank you for the verbose explanations! Truly. Regarding RAM speed...I find nothing that backs either of us up. The best I found for why we both are correct is from how to geek: Although some interfaces you'll come across, such as the memory tool baked into the Windows Task Manager will report the RAM speed at the rate you expect to see---the double data rate---tools like CPU-Z that provide raw spec data about your machine don't. The number you see in CPU-Z is the MHz frequency presented at the undoubled speed. And then from Google AI: If your DDR5 RAM appears to be running at half its advertised speed when in dual channel mode, it's likely not actually a problem, but rather a misunderstanding of how the speed is reported; most system monitoring tools display the raw clock speed of the RAM, which is "half" the advertised DDR5 speed because DDR stands for "Double Data Rate," meaning the data is transferred twice per clock cycle, effectively doubling the bandwidth. I apologize for the other comments on speed in the system. I was pulled away to work and I didn't get to finish your vid, which I will do. I will also try to find my misinformation source. At my age I certainly misremember far too much. I know you can only review what you have but the Gem12 Pro...or at least the one I bought, moved the oculink port so it matches Gtek and they also use the barrel power supply....which is why I bought it. I agree with you that you waste one of your limited high speed slots with power. I've read anecdotally that people have a problem with that connection staying solid as well. I'll finish the vid and thanks again for clarifying!
@ I just want to clarify that the 2X 2800 Mhz DUAL RAM is not an assumption based on CPU Z data reading, but HWMonitor and HWINFO sensor data reading, there is no controversy here, i am publishing my reviews on Subreddit r/MiniPC if The reviewed models were not 5600Mhz 2X2800 Mhz which is not a thing that is supposed to be mentioned by the way, dozen of tech Saavy Reddit members will point art this info as a false claim, which is not the case.and again HWMonitor is reading data sensor, there is no interpretation of the data, 5600 Mhz is the Max Speed recorded by the sensor, and that s all. You can download HWMonitor or HWINFO and try it yourself to read live data reading on all your hardware with RAM included. By the way A.I data base is usually outdated by 2-3 years at least with ChatGPT, for exemple if you ask ChatGPT which is the best GPU they won t take in concideration recent data to formulate answers, just be aware of how A.I learning data base is working too. It has limitation, although A.I tools is an awesome source of infos, results could be misleading if not narrowed and questioned.

Thanks for the review. As I see the motherboards are practically the same. The only difference is in the cooling system and partly in the BIOS.
