People didn't understand why I didn't care to travel after I bought a house. I mean, I bought this placed and turned it into where I wanted to be. You turned your house into where Sherpa wants to be and that's awesome.

Yes. They've got a great place now and plenty of close by places for Sherpa to get nice walks. He's not as spry as he was, I think Jamie was smart. I did lots of travel years ago but now I'm retired I can stay home happily with my cats.

My goal is to make home a place where I want to be. It happens in stages though, especially after years of neglect because of spending virtually all my time at work. Even when I’m home, I tend to be so focused on work that it’s hard to focus on things about home.

Home is always best for sure. I found as our dogs aged, traveling was exhausting for them. They loved their back yard just like Sherpa. He to keep our old boys and girls happy. 💕👍🏻

To be honest, if I had a home and yard like yours I would not want to leave and not need a vacation ever. All I want is to garden and do crafts, like carpentry, outside. I'm glad he's so happy at home. Well done on your choice of home, sir. 🥰

His little body might be getting a little older ,but his mind as sharp as ever ,Al cos Jamie takes him on adventure after adventure, keeps him so smart and alert ,such a handsome fur ball❤

I hate that so many comments focus on Sherpas’ age frequently. He and Jamie have such a great life. They are together. Should that not be the most important factor. I never think of the fact that my girl is 13 years old and I am older. We are healthy ; happy and she happily rules our home with an iron paw. 😂😊

My little fella has travelled everywhere with me but now he is 16.5 we now stay home and he does what he wants and he deserves it!!! Sherpa has the best life and you understand him that's the best thing for him.☺☺

I could see the look on Sherpie's face when you were away and indoors. It was like he was thinking 'this is nice dad, but can we go home to my garden now?' 🥰When you lived in the caravan, he could only be outside on a leash, and right next to the noisy highway. Now, all the grass he can get cozy in, is all his (and yours ; ) and no leash needed! A 1000% improvement!! 👍🤗

It's a shame that you couldn't fully enjoy this trip but I'm sure the next one will come. Sherp's voice, even if it is a little weak, is still not sweet and everyone definitely heard his hello from chasing the treat.

Not much to going away on holiday when you already live in the ideal place. Every day at home is like being on holiday.

I think Sherpa is at a point in his life where he wants to be at home, with his stuff, and his yard, and the birds. He was on the go for so long that he's ready to slow down and relax and not always be out.

Hey Jamie, it just goes to show you what a treasure your new home is, and how much Sherpy enjoys it, the garden, and his new shed (massive win there). Nothing wrong with enjoying your beautiful home together where he is most comfortable. The daily walks are great, and perhaps some shorter day trips, but it is gratifying to see Sherpa enjoy and relax at home.
There’s no place like home, but it’s a shame to have cut your break short, but Sherpa always comes first. All flooring should be like a sandy beach

As people get older, many enjoy staying home more than going out. I think dogs are the same. They prefer to stay at home where they're most comfortable and relaxed as they get older.
It amazes me that your churches are not locked and open with no one there and nothing is taken, no graffiti, no damage. Most churches where I live (in Upstate NY( are always locked unless there is a service of some kind.
I hope the people who were making disparaging comments see this video and their fears are put to rest. In case you didn't watch the video Jamie mentions that he wasn't having a good time because he noticed Sherpa wasn't having a good time because of the slippery floors (and the fact that he put carpets down to try to help against slipping). Jamie loves Sherpa lots and cares enough about him that he wants him to be happy and comfortable.
(Sorry if this comes off as rude, I want to help others see that Jamie isn't being mean to Sherpa)
