    I was talking to a friend who told me that he’s never thought he was attractive. So I asked him when he first saw when he looks at me. He said my eyes, then my hair. Well, I confided I tend to look at my eye bags and double chin. So I told him people are looking for beauty. So I don’t know who needs to hear this, but when others look at you they probably look at your best features, so should you. Don’t fall into the trap of focusing on flaws.

    One of my granddaughters was born with a severed nerve on one side of her lip when she was coming through the birthing canal. As a seasoned yoginie of nearly 15 years…best thing I ever did was a consistent yoga practice at an early age. Ashtanga to be precise. I have seen my entire body and face change. The primary series is all on alignment and detoxification ( 5 years of 6 day a week practice) the face, the limbs are all extensions of the spine. If you look at dancers and yogi’s they have symmetry bc their spines are strong and flexible . Start yoga. It’s never too late ❤

    • @alicesvideos
      @alicesvideos 4 місяці тому +2

      No one is symmetrical. Dancers certainly aren't.

    • @AnnaWhite-go6nz
      @AnnaWhite-go6nz 4 місяці тому +2

      @@alicesvideos you’re correct. However with body work you naturally align asymmetries. i have worked with an osteo with over 50 years experience that specialises in dance injury and has worked with the Sydney dance company for over 25 years. Yes dancers, particularly African American - if training correctly ( strength and flexibility ) will align their structure, making them more symmetrical

    • @AnnaWhite-go6nz
      @AnnaWhite-go6nz 4 місяці тому +2

      @@alicesvideos I know this for myself as well as I used to have many postural issues. From age of late twenties I had chronic rsi and back pain. I had to see an osteo every week for pain relief.
      Again, through yoga, changing the way I work, body exercises and movements my structural column re aligned and my body became more symmetrical. I see an osteo 3 times a year for general maintenance

    • @alicesvideos
      @alicesvideos 4 місяці тому +3

      @@AnnaWhite-go6nz I'm thinking you can strengthen certain parts that might be weak in order to bring more symmetry, but we're each born with a bone structure that tends to not be identical on both sides. I think we see it more in our faces. For instance, one of my eyes is deeper set than the other and that likely has to do with slightly different socket shapes, something that can't be changed. There are likely procedures that could be performed to perhaps bring in more symmetry, but I'm not into that sort of thing.
      I think in our everyday lives, we tend to do certain movements repetitively that aren't good for us. I watch TV sitting up in bed, and I cross my right ankle over my left. If I cross my left over my right, when I get up to do whatever, I feel a weakness in my right groin. I could probably do myself some good taking some Alexander Technique classes from a friend of mine to get myself into better alignment.

    I also have read that we are now hyper-focused on our faces - taking and posting more pics of ourselves so we fixate on our faces now more than ever. I have asymmetrical brows and one side of my face is somewhat flatter, AND one of my eyes is slightly larger. I’ve had some help w the brows w Botox. Try oral exercise called mewing. Lots of videos about it on you tube. Similar happened me as a kid. I was a mouth breather due to sinus issues and the dentist removed a few of my teeth but both sides to prevent over crowding and the need for braces .. it was a bad decision. However mewing even over the age of bone development (25) can make a huge difference to the shape & bone structure of your lower face. It made a bid difference for me in about 6months - a year and it’s something you practice for life.. but you end up doing it naturally without thinking after a while. It’s about correct tongue posture and keeping your mouth closed when asleep. If you have sleep apnea it may help taking vitamin d and b6. Or use a nasal spray if you get blocked sinuses. Try to sleep on your back rather than side or face down. Either way mewing will help even if those aren’t the reasons your sagging as it improves the bone structure of the face. I was getting jewels and they have more or less reversed and I’m 53.

    My right side is asymmetric in several ways. My right eye is slightly higher than the left. Thus, my right eyelid is more hooded than my left eyelid as there's less room. My right eyebrow is less arched than my left. My right cheek is much flatter than my left. The right side of my top lip is thinner and my jaw is slightly crooked so my mouth / lips look crooked for that reason also. My right jawline is also weaker. My right ear is also different to my left, AND my right nostril is a slightly different shape / angle to my left. AAAAGH! 😅
    Filler REALLY helped my lips, cheeks and jawline. The eye area and nose I can't really do anything about. Botox doesn't help to lift anything.

    I HATE when people use a picture of someone NOT looking straight in to demonstrate asymmetry. Even facing slightly to one side will make your face look widely more asymmetric (than it actually is) if you apply the mirror affect to it. This is what’s happening in your first example. You mostly just demonstrated that her head was slightly turned, not that her face is asymmetrical.

In high school people told me I need to model or give it a shot in Hollywood. Well I loved the sport too much and that life never happened for me. But I will bet you I could knock out Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and George Clooney in a few seconds. We are all about the same age and the movie choreographed fighting isn’t going to help them. Jason Statham isn’t as pretty and I have no idea how that would end up. Probably both of us in the hospital needing facial plastic surgery but he wins regardless because he can afford the best plastic surgeons. My face this year at 45 is noticeably very asymmetric. My eyebrow is lower, eye corners are hanging down more. The skin above one eye is over the lid more than the other eye. I can’t afford injections so I pray to god that facial exercises do in fact help.

    How do we see an expert if they all think they’re experts but are not as good as they should be? What do we ask? Please do a video on how to find a “good” expert that will do what you’re doing and saying in this video. Maybe we should just get them to call you for instructions.

      Start your search on my locator at www.store.rajanimd.com/locate. Indeed you are correct. Social media has created a group of " experts " have seen only a few patients a week. But if you are popular on instagram you may be considered successful

    Why are you promoting fillers when they are known to distort faces. 😢

      I m not promoting anything. I m educating. Fillers are a tool. Who places them, your expectations and demands for results will determine your distortion....or not

    Doctor rajani does a pdo thread lift provide the same amount of skin tightening and lifting as an actual face lift?

    • @rajanimdskincare
      @rajanimdskincare  4 місяці тому

      That cannot be answered. Too many factors. How many threads, how much sag in the face, type of threads etc. If one needs skin removal facelift is best

    Dear Dr Rajani, thank you for all your amazing videos. I have learned so much from them.
    I am 67 and been using Tretinoin for last 40 years and my skin looks great.
    After cleansing at night I apply Hyaluronic acid and B5, then I apply Tretinoin. At last I apply Castor oil. Do you think the Tretinoin would be effective enough since it’s my second product or do you prefer to apply Tretinoin first then other products. Is the most effective way to apply Tretinoin by itself?

    • @LindaKayHolevas
      @LindaKayHolevas 4 місяці тому +3

      My doctor has told me to use tretinoin first. He says that whatever ingredient you want absorbed the most into your skin is what you put on first after cleansing. If your skin looks great then I don’t think you need to worry about it too much. I am 59 & wish I had learned about tretinoin when I was much younger. I just found it 5 years ago. Lucky you! 😊

      You may place light serums first but if in doubt apply tretinoin to clean skin and call it good at night.
