Never trust IMDB ratings for Indian movies 😅. There is lot of rivalry between fans of each different films industries in India. They either review bomb movies from other industries or infate the IMDB ratings from their own language film industry. I recommend you to check out most popular/acclaimed directors from all five major Indian film industries (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries) and check out their best works, atleast in the beginning of your dive into the ocean that is Indian cinema! That is your safest bet.

I suggest you arrange list alphabetically next time, as it wouldbe easier to vote for our recommendations going forward. Imdb ratings for Indian Movies unreliable metric for setting expectations as some of these stories are deeply rooted in Indian Culture, history and social systems, hence these rating may have inherent biases which are not apparent for western viewers and may color your appreciation for the movie. ex Bahubali I, at $30 million it was then highest budget Indian movie, also it is deeply rooted in Indian Epics. Also if you ever plan to watch gangs of waseypur , I suggest you take notes, because otherwise you will get lost. Also it would be better to get aquianted with Indian movies (becoz it is a mix of goodfellas and indian mafia culture) Add Thiruchitrambalam(quintessential Indian movie: as viewed by westerners), Eega, Haider, Aamis, Munna Bhai(1 & 2), Great Indian Kitchen, mukundan unni associates, Super Delux, Ratsasan, Jallikattu, Visaranai, Super Delux, Hey Ram, Om shanti Om (a parody and celebration of Indian(Hindi) movie industry) in your list once existing are halved.
