As a Korean, I totally agree with this guy. One thing i wanna add tho is that Koreans instinctively put other Koreans in levels and treat them accordingly so we’re good at making one another miserable. Because it’s like being judged non-stop.
Are you happy now going around bad-mouthing your own fellow Koreans? Perfect! Now everybody thinks Koreans are all racists and bad guys who constantly discriminate against their own people. So, I guess, you were on the receiving side of all the prejudice and discrimination. Why didn't you do better so you don't get discriminated by some Snoddy folks in Korea? Disgusting people are everywhere if you let them walk all over you. In Korea, people are only against losers among their own people. I would suggest you become successful instead of playing a victim and becoming a coward behind the computer and bad-mouthing your own country. That's a so typical loser's behavior. If you know what I mean. I know so many successful Korean people who came from nothing, but they made themselves not to be looked down on by anybody and get all the respect. No matter how you describe yourself, you don't come across as a valid source of Korean social structure. In any country you live in, there is a lot of discrimination for all kinds of reasons. The only way you can overcome that discrimination is by succeeding in society. Look at all the Korean Japanese who were harshly discriminated against by the Japanese. But mostly they are treated well nowadays because they are successful in their society. Do you know Mr. Son with Softbank and Uber? He and his family were dirt poor and they were discriminated against, so much so, that they had to even change their name. But he is the richest person in Japan now. Japan treats him with the utmost respect. My point is, don't victimize yourself, and remember that you have nothing to gain from bad-mouthing your own country. At least this admin has a goal for more clicks even though he picked the unadmirable topics. It seems like bringing down Koreans as nasty discriminators and racists became his hot topic. @@kimsim6757 I don’t think (and hope) your message had the intention to sound condescending. As such, I must apologize for my mistake. But to answer your question, Kenya and SKorea officially began their diplomatic tie in February 1964 (Yeo Sung-Jun, 2024). The years 1963-1964 were also the start of Kenya’s independence from the British Empire, becoming the sovereign state that stands today (University of Central Arkansas, 2014). Thus, from a post-colonization and post-war context lived by both Kenya and South Korea, this relation might had emerged from a need for alliance between two emerging countries (in the context of the 1960s). Economically, SKorea benefits as much from Kenya than Kenya does from SKorea. Kenya’s geography is rich in primary ressources. As technology progress, the demand and need for those ressources increase. South Korea might be more technologically advanced, but to create these technologies, it must all come from somewhere. Our demands for the semiconductor industry increase for our demands on specific ressources that African communities such as Kenya (in East Africa) or the Congo (in Central Africa) possess. As for the recovery aid sent from Kenya to South Korea during postwar Korea, I could only find information on Wikipedia. More research on my part would thus be needed to fact check that claim, but I hope you’ve learned something on the importance of diplomatic ties with countries and communities within the African subcontinent.

@@davidjacobs8558 I think that’s Korean fake history, they mentioned Korea but never claimed they were descended from them. Manchus were descendent from Jurchens of Jin dynasty. They were a semi nomadic peoples and Koreans were never nomadic, completely different origins.
@@MarkMiller304 that book was written by Qing Emperor, not by Koreans. you can read the content online. so read it for yourself. I never had anything done to my body or face like plastic surgery. I just eat well, grace of genes and exercise. They would ask from where i am and when i say “Philippines” they get kinda shocked then would ask if im pure filipino. One korean older woman when she asked and i told her i am filipino she got shocked and said i am too pretty for a filipino. Wooooowww just wow the audacity of some koreans who look down on us SEAs. I have a few korean friends and they are kind. I am sure not everyone there is racist but generally they are i guess. Philippines is a diverse country consisting of 3 classes of beauty: morenas, chinitas and mestizas Edit: she meant it how she said it. This is not the first time i was asked from where i am and been told i don’t look like a filipino because they stereotype south east asians to all be brown skinned, short and have flat noses, uneducated, poor. That is how others see us without knowing that in every country there are different types of people
Haha. They just don't understand how heterogeneous South East Asians are cuz Koreans are probably the most homogeneous ethnic group. Like a Korean once asked me if I'm part Japanese cuz she insisted I look like one and I was like, not even a drop😅 I mean I don't even think my features are unusual for a South East Asian. Although I'm tall I feel that I'm objectively so average. I honestly sometimes think they expect South East Asians to be a swarm of people with the same nose, eyes, lips, cheekbones and jawline😭.
They forget that the Philippiens is a multi racial country ... Imagine if East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, and Latin America were all one nation... Thats basically the people in the Philippines... And we seldome notice it ouraelves to be honest...
Yet this young man is so articulate, polite an open-minded. It just proves that all Korean are not inherently bad. It's just that most of them lack exposure to other cultures.
There's literally lot of Korean married ASEAN and even had Freund with ASEAN friend that had good time in Korea they never spread it the positive experience but yet only called out the bad thing that only happens to them once
That's why when I had the same epiphany, I started to despise anything Korean like K-drama and K-Pop. I've decided that I've got nothing to do with them for good.
It's all garbage anyways lol They rely on America net for their stupid music and shows. If they keep their crap to themselves like other countries does, they wouldn't be as popular.
I used to love kdramas when i was in college. Slowly I realised first that the dramas are so toxic. Towards people who are not pretty . It kept on building… came across more news and videos of sort… racism. Now I cannot enjoy them anymore.
Sometimes i found Chinese and japan people racist toward Asean... But damn korean racism is another level, it makes another country racism seems like a child play
Japanese racism is polite. You wouldn't know what they're thinking since they have the grace to kept to themselves in the presence of someone they don't like (prohibiting foreigners from entering their store is the most extreme, but there's reason for that, and it's on the bad behavior of foreigners so can't complain about it). Maybe you will feel alienated, but it's better than hearing insult about you, your race and your country in front of your face. I haven't yet encountered blatant Chinese racism in the social medias, though (I should see more videos, I think). I mean, all the foreign people visiting there seem to be pleased enough. And this country have minorities with faces wildly different from the Han Chinese. So they probably more tolerant (especially if you can speak Mandarin). I might be wrong and maybe there are racism somewhere (billion of people without prejudice seems to be impossible).
As a japanese who worked in korea i see the toxic traits you're talking about plus THE TOXIC working place is worst than Japan, i wrongly chosen Skorean thinking its sophisticated until i went there , japan is not better im one to know it better than anyone but japanese ppl are polite so you will rarely notice the racist traits unless yoi're fluent and pick up on some lines or words but other than that you will rarely see "someone menacing you or threatning to k*lll you" bc i did receive threats and menacing words both as letters and from ppl , i'm also half japanese and half american so i never felt any discomfort in America or japan both feels like home to me , i think japan is slowly opening up to the world i see many "foreigners" bc thays the word used in japan for all races like its a stamp , i see many residing in japan and living in japan and their kids not being bullied or hurt , which makes me hopeful that will go past that conservative mindset
I think Japan is a combination of xenophobia, isolation, and apprehension. They, from an outsiders views feel more "disconnected" towards non-japanese, often purposefully. The average Japanese isn't nearly as racist but more along the lines of what I call purposeful "aloofness". Also, they have a much better image. Korea is a different beast all together. It's a combination of materialism, racism, self-centricism, and excess pride. Not to mention the "bully culture".
The highest ranking Korean to be prosecuted after the 2nd world war was Lt. Gen. Hong Sa-Ik, who was in command of all Japanese prison camps in the Philippines. 148 Koreans were convicted of war crimes; 23 of them were sentenced to death. The convicted Koreans included many prison guards who were particularly notorious for their brutality. Justice Bert Röling, who represented the Netherlands at the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, noted, “Many of the commanders and guards in POW camps were Koreans and it is said that they were sometimes far more cruel than the Japanese.”
Imagine being captured in Bataan and then tortured in a POW camp by Korean guards, then went on to join the Korean War only to fight alongside the same Korean guards who were now part of the South Korean Army.

The West and Turkey have amplified their dehumanizing stereotypes against South Asians, examples being: street sh*tters, scammers, savages, filthy, r@pists, etc. Now, they are adding a new stereotype“zoophilia “. I am pretty sure you have seen this on social media where trolls take articles about animals r@ped in India and post it. The West has been dehumanizing South Asians for over a century. Here's a story I will tell you. There were a group of Koreans in Vietnam at a restaurant. And guess what. There was a group of Aussies and white people at another table. The Vietnamese servers only serviced the white group first even though they came later. And they ignored the Koreans and the Koreans were angry and mad because they thought that they were somehow superior to the Vietnamese and southeast Asians. It was at that moment that they realized that the Vietnamese did not see any difference between Asians. And Koreans realized that they were still garba*e compared to white European people. This was perhaps one of the most hilarious moments I witnessed
I am laughing at you and your thinking level. So tell me. Did you think it was right thing to do to ignore the people who came earlier and served those white group even though they came later? What made you think those Korean people were upset because "they were somehow superior to the Vietnamese"? What's got to do with thinking superior to Vietnamese and asking for the right treatment? And did they say, they think of themselves as they are superior to Vietnamese? Isn't that natural to get upset when they were dismissed intentionally just because they are not 'white European', according to you? Is that how people think in Vietnam? So, you think white European people are better than Asian people so they deserve to be treated better and speedy in your mind? Is that why Vietnamese didn't fight when they were colonized by France? Where is your self esteem? Don't you feel you are the same as those white European people and you want to be treated as such from Korean? Would you be okay with Korean people serve you after the white European people in the restaurant, since you are less than white European people? Wow, is this cultural difference or your own self esteem issue? Have some pride in you, dear Vietnamese. you are a valuable person as much as any ethnic group. If you don't respect yourself, no one is going to respect you. What an odd imbalance in Asian people! Korean has too much high esteem and Vietnamese has too low self esteem. I pity your life. Love yourself, dear. you deserve as much as other people whether they are white or black or even if you are Vietnamese. As far as I am concerned, Vietnamese people I've met was very proud people. I thought they have very healthy regards about themselves. Did I misunderstand about Vietnamese? Don't go around embarrass your Vietnamese.
Actually, I have lived and worked in Vietnam, China and South Korea, so I can tell you that the Koreans do see themselves as superior to other Asians, except the Japanese. The Chinese think they are superior to all other Asians and the Vietnamese only think you’re superior to them if they can make money off you, regardless of your skin color or ethnicity
I think its about time to look inside the region more that outside my fellow SEA-nas, its been centuries that we are treated like we are crap by those European and East Asian. Our kindness and humility always seen as weakness by those European and East Asians, until when we will see them as idols with their culture, and give them our admiration?. Its nonsense... We need to rise and stand up for ourselves, have self respect and dignity!...

There is a common saying, "if you visit Vietnam, you will never be the same person again".
Actually, I have lived and worked in Vietnam, China and South Korea, so I can tell you that the Koreans do see themselves as superior to other Asians, except the Japanese. Its the old saying of "one bad apple spoils the bunch". Yeah, its terrible to see it, and this is why stereotypes are born.
BUT if you know deep down you never done any of that hatred, there's no reason for you to personally apologize. You're okay man. 👍 Just gotta do the right things.

Dude you are so wise, i find it very respectable from you, thank you.
I'm from South East Asia, i find it sad that people outside think of us beneath them.
There ia a bridge called Malaysian Bridge in Paju Province, South Korea built in 1960 donated by Malaysia because South Korea was so poor after the Korean War
That's true. I live here in South Korea, there's definitely a strong difference I can feel about the way South Koreans treat other Asians (Chinese, South Asians and South East Asians) in general. I am a mixed blood of Chinese, South East Asian and a bit European. Eventhough my skin is not dark, but I don't look Korean enough and they definitely look down upon me after knowing I came from SEA country. Arrogance and pride are the enemy of society. Money, power and greed are mostly the roots of all evil. Why are you acting so superior? Enough said.
I agree, but you forgot envy and jealousy. They are the roots of evil as well.
South Korea is atleast arrognant and have pride atleast even in future if they get destroyed atleast it will not due fear and cowardice but with arrogance and pride.
That’s why in bible God says he hates Pride and instead he loves Humility. Pride will go down, and humility will be lifted.
@@LilyCorowskyEnvy and jealousy is a side affect of money, so money wraps it up in its entirety.
If u look chinese or philipines, we can tell. sorry not sorry😂
I dont have respect to those koreans who look down on SE people. I mean it.
Good for you, once Koreans realized that Southeast Asians are their ancestors they going to be freaking out 😂😅
what the fuck r u talking about
@@Kingofthehill84 I honestly don’t understand how that would surprise anyone. East Asians and South East Asians are distantly related like how North Europeans are related to South Europeans. A bit complicated but nevertheless the same race.
@@Kingofthehill84 That argument is stupid. Who cares about ancestors. They can always argue that they have evolved and Southeast Asians have not.
yeah they came from cambodia
"the current genetic foundation of Koreans may have been established through a rapid admixture with ancient Southern Chinese populations associated with Iron Age Cambodians. We speculate that this admixing trend initially occurred mostly outside the Korean peninsula followed by continuous spread and localization in Korea, corresponding to the general admixture trend of East Asia. Over 70% of extant Korean genetic diversity is explained to be derived from such a recent population expansion and admixture from the South."

I worked at a Korean restaurant in America..and the owner is so racist against me saying shit like idk if u have good rice in your country but Koreans eat good rice and shit like that.. I hate that guy so much
I probably gonna endeup in troubles because i will probably yell to the owner "if Korea is so really good why you are in USA?" and "You dont were the b1tches of Japan first and later to the USA? since you find USA bases in that place"
Next time, something to consider is that you can report racial discrimination and harassment to the eeoc. Reports have to be within 300 days of the incident. Document everything they say with date and timestamps. Even better if you can get witness statements.
Not a lawyer, but just wanted you to be aware of your rights.
I think that's more like old people having ego/arrogant pride about their own country. But I'm sorry if you got mistreated by a Korean.
so, worst you can come up with about that owner's racism is he said Koreans have good rice and your country don't have good rice ?
how is that even a racism ?
Great commentary. I appreciated how you noted the battle of Yuktung where 1 thousand Pilipinos fought 40 thousand soldiers to defend South Korea. Can't wait for you to do an episode about this.
30 year old Korean guy here who grew up in the uk. (Since 7) i have absolutely no desire going back to korea. Especially with my young children.
They focus too much on an outdated educational system that will be irrelevant in 5-10 years time when AI & automation gets mainstreamed.
My great grandfather said the japanese were not the cruelest during the occupation in Singapore. It was the Koreans who worked for the japanese. They bent over backwards for their japanese superiors.
😂. Eh, I think it was the Chinese who betray their own people. Koreans were not even in Southeast Asia during ww2.
@@sart3735 Didn't you understand the OP? Korea was under Japanese rule at the time. So the Koreans were in Southeast Asia, but they were working for the Japanese under the Japanese flag. Korea was part of the Empire of Japan.
@@canuck21 honestly never heard of Koreans working in southeast asia for the Japanese. So were Taiwanese in southeast Asia too? They were Japanese colony. I think op made it up to add fuel to fire. Also, my point is it was the Chinese who betrayed their own people for survival during WW2.
@@sart3735 If Korea was a colony of Japan, don't you think it's very likely that they took some Koreans and incorporated them in their units?
@@canuck21 that's what you think. Any evidence? Never heard about Koreans in the Japanese army during ww2. Like I said there should be Taiwanese in the Japanese army if there were Koreans. So when Japanese occupied malaysia, did they send Malaysians to bomb pearl harbour or invade Indonesia?

Every coin has two sides.
I appreciate this. I came across this video being curious if what I often heard about Koreans are true. I live in California in a town with a big Korean population. What you said confirms what I heard.
This video is extremely biased. I wonder whether he is Korean or not . Many northern chinese expats in Korea pretends they are koreans
Lmao I like to think Korean manhwa "lookism" does get some serious inspiration from Korean society.
Most of the PTJ comics are tied (either loosely or lightly) about Korean's toxic culture
for sure
I agree to this video so much. Even the general attitude of some koreans in public shows how they think se asians are inferior
hahaha, koreans think every non korean is an interior. well, every rich korean think poor korean is an inferior. koreans love the chinese and hate the japanese...so what?
Well said. Thank you for speaking out.
Not to mention the fact that the philippines is host to hundreds of thousands of koreans living here with their own schools and businesses and even their own town centers.
Anyone ever heard of "Korea Town"?
Well, if Koreans can go to strip clubs in Manila and take home sex workers for the price one cup of coffee in Busan or Seoul, they will end up looking down at people. Because they can buy them and use as toys.
Meanwhile, they are disrespecting Filipinos on their own land.
@@ace1926yup in malate, manila and clark pampanga. And reports that some of these koreans have been living for decades not following the culture and rules and adopting our language. Whereis they are angry if our ofws dont follow the rules and speak their language in sk which is hypocrisy.
Not as much as Vietnam though.
In the last few months, it has gone viral in Indonesia regarding the racism of Korean workers here towards the locals. They have a site called Indosarang, where they insult the skin color of Indonesians and the Islamic religion, even calling the Islamic faith Dic# and Indonesians monkeys. Just google if you want the details. Surprisingly, there are a lot of K-pop fans in Southeast Asia. I'm not a K-pop fan, but I'm into Korean brands like electronics, and cars. But now, no more Korean brands for me
Wise decision. After I learned how much Koreans hate me as a Southeast asian and muslim I weed out all Korean products in my purchases and orders. I hate pretentious Korean culture anyway. Good for both of us, let’s keep spreading awareness to both our nations so these Kpooper fanatics can at least regained some self-respect.
Same for Indians as well. There are pubs in Korea where Indians and Pakistanis are not allowed to enter.
And last year, in a sting operation few people went to a nearby restaurant near Kia Motors Plant in Andhra Pradesh, India where Koreans work and live. And surprising thing is that Indians are not allowed to enter there despite it is in India.
Meanwhile there are so many K-pop and K-drama fans here who are so consumed into K-content, and they would get triggered if someone talked shit about it and Koreans in general, which is kinda disappointing.
Stop generalzing of Korean, Korea is wellknown for the least racist country in Asia according to foreigners.
I can tell this guy gets paid by the ''Japanese right wing'' to slander Koreans. Look it up his profile and all his video, nothing but hatred against Koreans with false allegations of racism.
As a Vietnamese, I'm quite shocked by this because there are over 300,000 Koreans who prefer to live in Vietnam than endure the hardships in Korea. Many of them speak VERY GOOD Vietnamese which is a great feat in itself.
Be careful. They are just good at pretending. They ALWAYS have theat supremacy mindset. Southeast Asian people for them are just second tier people.
Nah it's because Koreans are worshipped in Vietnam. In Korea those Koreans are just commoners, if not, losers... but come to Vietnam and they're the superiors. Being Korean alone is good enough to get any women in Vietnam. Vietnamese women line up to sell their bodies to Korean men. It's just a fact.
