5:25 I've always cut ties - never thought twice about the action, except to recognize that my responsibility load had increased to some degree. After that recognition, I realize that my responsibility load may have increased, but so has my stress level decreased and my time to pursue my projects has amplified.

Well, shit! I've been totally against this "Sigma Male" BS the whole time. But this video describes me 100%. Especially the part about being able to cut people off at the flick of a switch. I have a strict 1 strike & you're out policy. I don't have the patience for 3 strikes. You cross the line 1 time & I'm done with you. Over the years I have cut off all of my lying, backstabbing, unreliable, jackass friends.
I learned at an early age to remove people from my life that were fake being adopted into a family that I never felt apart of. There's NOTHING anyone can say or do to ever disappoint because I expect nothing from anyone and everyone. My friends are gone now and the fake ones are distant memory and so I walk as a Lone Wolf in life once more. For I have been and always will be searching for a place in the world to call my own in this life or maybe in the next only time will tell that story for until then only time knows the answer to that question.

Much of what you say resonates with me, so I guess I’m somewhere on the sigma scale. Having suffered a broken heart twice as an adult and twice as an adolescent, I’m done. I have become totally uninterested in entering any further relationship. I do not suffer fools nor drama. I have learned never to go back. Once a decision is made, go forward don’t ever look back. I am confortable in my own skin and whilst I strive for self improvement I feel no need to prove myself or compare myself with others. I avoid relying on anyone to achieve my goals and objectives even with regard to the more mundane aspects of daily life. I am fine with all this. The only thing that troubles me is my tendency to be insensitive and distant from my family. Although I try, it’s not natural for me to be sensitive or close to anyone. Possibly a self defence/self preservation thing?
Man, you've described me, I suffered a broken heart twice as an adolescent and once as an adult, somehing inside me really died and I'm peaceful with it.
Now I have a girlfriend, she's one of a kind person, empathetic and assertive, but even with her, I'm still unsensitive and it worries me, I don't want to make her suffer like me.
These are thoughtful comments. I don't see how I could be a true sigma. I'm deeply broken, my family of origin broke my heart, while telling me I was loved. I could never "pairbond ", though I am blessed with friends. My family came from a subculture where drama was the norm. Tough habit to break! Alcohol driven. But life is vastly better without drama & alcohol. I guess I'm sigmoid
