- Conservative MP and health minister Maria Caulfield says NHS waiting lists "are higher than we want them to be" as new NHS figures reveal missed targets and record A&E attendance numbers.
But she insists "we are turning a corner".
Figures show there were 2.35 million A&E attendances across England in March - the highest since records began in August 2010.

All to push people to go private
Absolutely right. These shysters are all on back handers from the private insurance companies and have handed out more and more NHS contracts to private suppliers which is how the money is swallowed up. Greedy criminals the lot of them, who care nothing for the country, only themselves. Unbelievable how quickly a country has been destroyed by greed.

These charlatans have failed the NHS and the marvellous staff who keep it running.

And precisely how long is a "correct waiting list"? The answer is symptomatic of complete incompetence! The richest "struggling to make ends meet" and can´t pay more tax? A symbol round her neck of someone being tortured to death? Sanity completely out of reach?

We're not sending our best to parliament
How do they know how long waiting lists are? They can't keep track of any list. I attend an Out patients clinic regularly. I had a letter - pre-printed, telling me that the appointment that was arranged was cancelled with a new date for a new appointment. Only the dates filled in for the cancelled appointment day and time was exactly the same as the in filled new date ant time. So someone had sat down in an office, filled in the same date and times and had it sent to me costing postage. Because it didn't make sense I had to spend 45 minutes in a telephone queue - trying to speak to someone to ask if I should turn up for the cancelled and re-made appointment. So, office/admin time wasted. Postage wasted. My time wasted and the cost for me, for the phone call.
If this was the only incident of wastage and mis management, it would be funny...... but it happens frequently.
The NHS would save a lot of money if they were able to manage.

The Tories always find the money to pay the private sector of the NHS
I live in Wales, which has been run by Labour for years, and it's the worst now than it's ever been.
So don't give me the crap about Tories.
Nhs is a joke who's ever in, and that's the fact.
How is it right that working people have to pay for dental treatment,and opticians when unemployed get it free.
Also a lot of people pay private to get medical treatment because the system is clogged up with immigrants and unemployed people.
The working people of the country should be a priority.
Nhs is broken and should be abolished...
They need more diversity officers.

What she should have said was: "It's just awful when not enough of the native peasants are dying fast enough and making way in the system for the new arrivals ( our replacements) at Dover, isn't it?"
