- A Treasury minister says the mayor of Brussels was wrong to shut down a conservative conference because it featured far-right figures.
Nigel Farage and former home secretary Suella Braverman were among those appearing alongside the Hungarian prime minster Viktor Orban and French far-right politician Eric Zemmou at the National Conservatism Conference.
The conference was halted by a local mayor to ensure public security.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Laura Trott, told Kay Burley she disagreed with the "no platforming" of people who were expressing legal views.

Ah whenever anyone ever points out the massive flaws in mass immigration!
Except it isn't just having an opinion, it's legislators using sophistry and emotive fictions to bring about inequality of outcome for out-groups. A Tory MP and former Home Secretary stood on the convention's stage last year and used the antisemitic 'cultural Marxism' trope. It's no wonder a number of Brussels mayors either banned the convention or shut it down this year.

Shouldn't that apply to jeremy Corbyn who only shared a platform with someone in 1994 and they still hunt him down for that and destroyed his political career. The uk politician's double standards are breathtaking.
Mr Corbyn subsequently became Labour leader so no one hunted him down and destroyed his career. He achieved that unaided.

Sorry but i don't see the food inflation changes going on a downwards spiral like they did upwards. Tesco announced record profits of 3 billion. I can understand things like oils/olive oils ect. being expensive but the Tescos branded items are still way more expensive than last year. I've bought this item for way before inflation so i noticed difference as i buy it every week, The tesco and orange and mango (real) juice used to be £1.40, it slowly creeped up by 5p every now and then making it upto £1.70 about a month ago and then all of a sudden it jumped to £2.00. if that isn't rampant profiteering then i don't know what is. Shameful from Tesco seeing as they're 27% of the UK supermarket sector.
Fuel is still going up or atleast for the past couple weeks it's remained roughly the same, still way above what it was before the Russian/Ukraine conflict, alot more than when Rishi was hailed an almightly god for a fuel duty cut by 5p a litre but fuel cost still went up. Even from the start of the year, fuel has still gone up. Still the UK the only country in Europe where Diesel costs more than Petrol too. Shameful.

I think it says alot when people aren't allowing people to express their legal perspectives. It can be something both understandable to an extent given how many independent nations have been taken over, but at the same time that's it isn't it, the difference between open democracy's and authoritarian regimes. It is a difficult subject to talk about as in some cases democracy's are susceptible to being abused. It is due to such things why some find themselves in need to become a bit dictatorial as a means of protection rather than for oppression purposes. We have seen this in Ukraine resorting to political election law changes as means of protection, which is happening globally, and is used by some to try to oust those who resort to such measures as means of defence from the threat of being exploited and taken over. There is however a risk of becoming extremist dictatorships however, which we hear about in the world under the claims of cruel dictatorships and authoritarian regimes which often lead to revolts and Democracy's forming such as what tends to happen. All of which there are many examples of and regardless of individuals, family successions or other democracy styles and groups, it really comes down to those in power regardless of any governance platform model. It really alll comes down to people doesn't it.

So who should decide who is appropriate ? Should we have a citizens committee ? Perhaps Ms Burley could decide for us. Or the Guardian ? I know, we could have a panel like they did for football results back in 1964. Sorted.
