- On a Friday night, a friend and I rode train 224 for its full run, Santa Clarita to LAUPT. I had recently picked up a suction-cup window mount from Joby, and decided to shoot an out-the-window video to document the majority of the ride. Sadly due to the desired spot being occupied and lighting, I was not able to begin filming from the designated spot until Sylmar/San Fernando station. However, I still managed to film a brief portion of Santa Clarita to Newhall, though the horn/bell is not very audible, so if you would like to experience the entire run from the designated spot (at the very front of the cab), skip to 8:51 into the video. I hope you enjoy this unique add-on the the channel, and I plan to continue with this type of filming for various trains to come.
Metrolink Train 224: Originates midway through the Metrolink Valley Subdivision at Santa Clarita, terminates and turns back from LA as Train 223.

As of last year, the conductor aboard this train had passed away. He always had a sense of happiness when riding and talking on the radio, it was sad when the news first came. May he rest in peace.
Thanks for watching!

Who remembers the driver announced the station and not a computer
You should film a ride on the Ventura County Line.
He should I would love to see the views on Ventura county
Been awhile since I have ridden the train, but I will keep that in mind for the future!
I know Antelope Valley express metrolink
So the Rotem Cab cars have had all their issues fixed? They had some problems a few years back as i recall?
Yes, the issues they had previously were dealt with and they are currently still running
Are you planning to Film a Ride on the Pacific Surfliner from LA to San Luis Obispo?
it is possible, although given that it's a five hour ride there would be a better chance of a ride between LA and santa barbara.
@@USARailProductions Oh I see. And Also When you are going to Santa Barbara?
16:40
Are you actually driving this or are you in the same compartment as the engineer?
neither, i am towards the very front of the cabcar in coach which is near where the horn(s) rest.
SoCalRailfan oh I see.. I work by the newhall station so the horn is super loud
No wonder i can still hear that Ham Radio
@@coastercrafter1productions300 I didn't know they made radios out of ham! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (JK)
I dont like that annoying Ham Radio it just ruins it
Here it is 2022! This train ride view is so unacceptable, dirty, view full of weeds and debris made me feel the need to take a shower. Come on City planners and engineers we could do better than this:-)
