Bought and read "High Concept" about Don Simpson - it's too bad he couldn't get off of, and stay away from, drugs. He was so articulate and smart. Demons from his childhood never went away... There is a documentary about him on UA-cam that I watched recently, and one of the things his press agent said was Don was the smartest, he was the richest, but he was never the prettiest and that bothered him. I really don't understand that, because I thought he was quite handsome. I think deep down inside he was an extremely insecure and unhappy man, which is sad. R.I.P. Mr. Simpson - your talent is greatly missed.

Elinor hawke you’re absolutely right, he was very insecure in his own skin which was very sad because he was so smart, talented, and rich. He and jerry were a force to be reckoned with and it’s sad how his life ended so short, such a tragic and cautionary tale.

What are you talking about? He lived his life to the full. True, fame costs, but in Don's case, it was worth it. He is not that handsome, but he had money.

I disagree, the man was a debauched individual.

It's unbelievable that Don Simpson had over 20 different drugs in his system that were all there at the same time after he passed away at only 52 years old. RIP

On January 19, 1996, Simpson was found dead in the bathroom of his Bel Air, Los Angeles home.[21] His death was initially attributed to "natural causes." An autopsy and toxicology report later determined that Simpson had died of heart failure caused by combined drug intoxication (cocaine and prescription medications) while going to the bathroom.[22] At the time of his death, there were 21 different drugs in his system including antidepressants, stimulants, sedatives, and tranquilizers.[11] In August 1996, investigative reporter Chuck Philips of The Los Angeles Times revealed that Simpson had been obtaining large quantities of prescription drugs from 15 different doctors, and that police found 2,200 prescription pills lined up in alphabetical order in his bedroom closet.[16][23][24]
A 1998 book by journalist Charles Fleming reported that Simpson's prescription drug expenses totaled more than $60,000 a month at the time of his death. He also referred to Don Simpson as "a supercharged simple-minded creature, an Aesop's fable on crystal meth."

Geniuses. That's all you can say. The fact that they met is like the complete opposite of those murderers who met randomly lol
