I personally got mine about a month ago and have used it a couple dozen times on everything from twigs to pellets to wood chunks. It's flawless. It does what it says better than I ever thought possible, and being titanium it feels like it's built to last a lifetime. If you're on the fence, just do it. I haven't used any of my gas stoves since.
My experience has been similar. Stove is *very* efficient and lightweight. I’m going to work on a titanium grill adapter with a heat diffuser to see if the Lofi can be an all in one cooking solution.
@@matthewpulliam7473 a titanium grill would be absolutely awesome. I have the Biolite as well and use its grill at least a few times a week. If Jonny builds one, I'll be the first customer haha.
Hey Timmo, I chose not to do that, as the burn chamber is pressurised slightly by the fan. This would mean that the sparks and embers would be forced out of the opening. Lifting the pot works for me, and then when it's back on top I know it is sealed an no embers can escape. 🔥 Jonny
@@JonnyLOFI I don’t know if you remember The Back Country Boiler which came out almost eleven years ago, I could not afford one at the time and I missed my chance. I am impressed by the efficiency of your creation and don’t want to miss my opportunity. I can see taking your stove on a thru hike.
Btw.... my stove works like a charm. only one major issue: as soon as i put on my pot it starts smoking like crazy. doesn`t matter if it has just started or is in full swing. i had a potcross from another stove that fixes the issue but should it not work without? what do i miss?
Hey there! Loving my two Lofi stoves - consistently good results with several different fuels. Quick question: have you tried burning ethanol / methanol in the Lofi as a backup? I’m curious if that would work in an emergency…
Im glad you’re enjoying the LOFI stoves, they’re fun, aren’t they! have tried a Trangia type stove placed inside - it burn a little faster. Have a play :)
Hey, thanks for the comment! In Wales (UK) where this was filmed, the hills have been grazed with sheep for centuries, and the trees have all been all but removed. When hiking above the tree line like this, I use wood pellets as fuel, which I carry with me.
Sorry but it's over engineering. A Trangia alcohol burner is my choice or a firebox if desperate. I'll allow people to come to their own conclusions about the practicalities of using this.
Thanks - yeah, there's a lot of engineering in this one. I've enjoyed making it, and others seem to find it fun too :) Nothing beats the simplicity of a Trangia though, or a simple twig burning box. Jonny
Oooof, sorry to hear that. I'm looking at ways of reducing this, or pre-paying it at the checkout so that there aren't any hidden costs. Thanks for the support though, It's so helpful in making projects like this happen 🔥
Really like the look of this Jonny. One of my friends linked me to it. How are you doing with exposure? Going high street? ATB Confessed Stoveaholic fellmandave.
Hi Dave, I’m starting small with this, as I learn. There isn’t enough mark up to take it to the high street, son I’m selling through my web shop - LOFI.com

This guy is incredibly pleasant. Seems like he would a lovely person to speak to.
Thank you Benjamin!
If you are ever in Bristol, please do drop around for a cup of tea 🫖

I'd love to hear how this goes, or maybe we can work together to get one made for the stove for more people to enjoy?

Hi Jonny. Good points on using stoves and Leave No Trace. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mark,
I'm looking forward to getting one of these over to Canada for you to enjoy :)
kindly test with charcoal pallets
Great idea, it's something I'm working on.
Charcoal has a higher heat density than wood 🔥
Can you use with a heat exchange pot and if so that should increase efficiency
Thanks, I'll have to try that :)
Willbe more simple if PB & Trimer also buildon the stove below the minifan.
Folding stan also needed at the botom for stove & on the top for mug
Hey thanks for the comment, what do you mean by PB & Trimer?
@@JonnyLOFI PB mean Power Bank, and the Trimer is Current adjuster
Why wouldn’t you put a small hole in the side so you could stoke it and add sticks without taking the pot off the top??

Unfortunately fire bans most summers
Hi,
Yeah i'm not sure that this would be allowed in fire ban areas. It's certainly safer than an open fire though.

I got my kickstarter model, now to get it tested!
Exciting, I'm glad you've received it ok.
I love the idea.
You are a dun genius !!!
Thanks! ^_^
I’ve been interested in this stove since it was first announced. I just bought one today. What an exciting idea!❤
Thanks so much! I've been working so hard on this project, it's really exciting to be getting these orders ^_^

Finally available.yesssss.

yes it’s brilliant and really easy . I carry it in my bag to make tea, fab!
Thanks Aron, I’m glad it’s working out well for you 🙌 such a fun way to brew a tea

Seems like a brilliant idea, although the inventor seems a little crazy - which is to be somewhat expected with inventors! 🤣😂😸
