Wow Ben, what a story that was. They do get themselves into situations and we wonder, "How was that possible?" Glad you came back and avoided what could have been... Bet Jake is too as you said she was a favorite. She seems to be doing well now, though she may not clean due to the stress of the whole episode. Hope she will. Lucky you have the skid loader to help in moving her. Skid loaders came after I was off the farm. Love seeing your animals and milking. The cows on Pondbank Farms have beautiful udders and such great dairy character and you have so many beautiful heifers for the future! Your channel is fabulous!!!
We came in the barn one morning last week to find one of our 900 pound Holstein veal had jumped over a gate through the night. Insurance is covering him $2400
Awesome videos Ben. I can't find the video when you talked about what you feed your heifers you should talk about that again . Is it just hay ? Or hay and balage?
Do milk cows go to an outside lot ever? And instead of straw on walkways we always used lime, so cows didn’t slip when moving them. Is there a reason you use straw. Great looking cows.
No, the milk cows do not, when they are dry they go on an outside lot with a pasture on it. Yes we use lime sometimes to. But find a bunch of straw seems to do the trick.
How many cows do you have and how many liters of milk does your farm produce per day and how many times do you milk them per day? I also want to know what type of fodder and concentrate you feed them from Spain.
Good you saved that girl
Never get tired of looking at great cows 😊
That's great! Glad you enjoyed it!

Good that u went back to the barn
No kidding! That would have been pretty depressing to come in the barn in the morning and finding a dead cow.

Do you give all fresh cows a tube of calcium.😊
Not all of them. Only if they need it. Which we don't have to many that seem to need it.

Need some hip lifters, lifta great with out harming the cow.
We do have some hip lifters. Unfortunately this wasn't a situation that we could use them.
Prefer brown (Jerseys)
Prefer jerseys and crossbreds over holsteins
Yeah , I definitely like jerseys and crosbreds as well. Milking jerseys in a tie stall is another story. Lol
@@PondbankFarmsI can feel it in my back already ha
G day Ben Yes we had holstein go see never did get up G d thing
Ths
Black and white Holsteins are the best in my opinion
Yeah I probably would still prefer them as well. I still like a few red and white throughout the herd
@@stephaniebowers9543 even the red Holstein is smaller but more nicer to look at!👍
