      i dont think this is really aimed at anyone that owns SSO. it's made from SSO recordings so you can just make this yourself by loading the legatos into a multi

      @@haydenstulen3422 Project Sam's big band is going to be hard to match for Spitfire. It's got a drum kit, strings, pre-set chords in some sections and the player is feature rich. The best thing about Project Sam is the unwavering devotion to its customers. They update and improve all of their products. You can't go wrong with them. Mr. Shlinlerder... no need to wait for a product that is already out there. :)

    I have bought this and it's fab. I just wished that in the 'Orchestra' patch they ditched the annoying Xylophone, what were you guys thinking? Apart from that, brilliant. Can we have an update asap please Paul? Ditch the Xylophone please.

    My question is, what would be the difference between adding the individual instruments together in lets say the BBC Orchestra compared to these? Would it make a difference in sound? I'm Genuinely curious.

    • @whyudodis123
      @whyudodis123 4 дні тому +2

      I'm just a casual hobbyist dabbling in digital composition so sorry if this doesn't answer your question fully.
      In general, a library like this with multiple instruments on a single patch will allow you less control over individual instruments. However, it has the benefit of
      - being less resource intensive (RAM, CPU, storage space) by orders of magnitude
      - less customization = less time bogged down in the details, really good for quick sketching and concepts
      - *much* cheaper than a full orchestra with individual instruments
      - more accessible to hobbyists, students, and entry-level folks (in part because of the above three points)
      With individual instruments, you get finer control over the sound each instrument produces, and this usually sounds more "realistic" if that's what you're going for. Especially if you are using a specific instrument for its specific sound, you wouldn't use a patch because other instrument sounds would blend in (e.g. if you want a french horn solo, using a full brass patch will probably mix in some trombone and trumpet). Typically, these are for more advanced composers or people who are willing to spend several hundred of dollars for the more realistic sound and deeper control.
      Also on a technical & audio level, I'm sure there is some difference in playing a pre-mixed patch vs doing your own mixing of multiple individual instruments, but I don't really know too much about that stuff.
      Hope this helps answer your question!

      There will be a difference, because BBC has entirely different recordings. A better comparison would be SSO, in which case depends on the mic mix, processing, orchestration, etc.

    Can you take out the xylophone sound off the tutti and mantain the other sounds together with the short and long patch? Does it have tímpani or something similar? Can it add more instruments without the modwheel with just the velocity like Amadeus Symphony?

  • @mybiggrin
    @mybiggrin 4 дні тому +2

    These combos came with legatos, but we had to spend hundreds for Abbey Road Foundations (no legatos) and all the add ons still didn’t give us all the legatos for full range of the orchestra in the Foundations library.

    • @Tyrell_Corp2019
      @Tyrell_Corp2019 4 дні тому +2

      I'm not a fan of Kontakt but one thing I prefer it over Spitfire is the efficiency. After purchasing BBC, AR and other Spitfire libraries I began to realize that loading the entire orchestra is just silly if you only want a few sections. It becomes a CPU, memory hog. It's the main reason I moved over to Orchestral Tools. Their player allows a streamlined load.
      Sadly, Spitfire pours its limited talent into 'new products' but never maintains the older ones. Project Sam is fantastic in that regard and just this week Orchestral Tools LISTENED the complaint about their phenomenal Benjamin Wallfisch strings by adding some shorts and other things that were lacking... for free.
      I've spent a lot of money with Spitfire and I have some buyer's remorse. Look up the complaints on BT Phobos and you'll see smoke come out of my ears with all the others. Deadware... seems to be a priority with Spitfire. Don't bank on them fixing or improving their player. 🤷‍♂

      Hi. Can you enable the full orchestra with the drums/grand casa and the brass woodwinds and strings at the same time where you choose which percussion you get (I dont want the xylophone and the cymbals everytime I play forte)?

    • @MamaSymphonia
      @MamaSymphonia 2 дні тому

      @@compositor82 There are four ensemble patches: strings + winds, strings + brass, strings + winds + brass, and orchestra. Only the orchestra patch has the xylophone built in; all the other percussion is in its own patch. There is no patch that combines the drums or cymbals with the orchestra, you have to layer those yourself.
