- Steering wheel removal of my 2020 Hyundai Veloster N. I replaced the OEM one with the SoCal Garage Works. The quality is a bit better than OEM, with flat bottom and a bit thicker, love the steering wheel and carbon fiber trim pieces.
Tools Needed:
Ratchet. amzn.to/2S1m52L
10mm Socket. amzn.to/2EDAmPX
Flathead Screwdriver. amzn.to/342AIIK
22mm Socket. amzn.to/337s8sV
Ratchet Extension. amzn.to/2HCOjPp
Phillips Screwdriver. amzn.to/3j9QR5t

I linked the tools required to complete the install of the aftermarket steering wheel in the video description!
The steering wheel isnt locked? You just have to put a lot of force into it to turn it in order to get to the clips?
The video I needed to see !! Thanks Chris!
dave pabon No problem! Thanks for watching👍
Dang this looks clean bro
Helpful video man! Going to be doing mine in a few days on my elantra sport 👌🏼
Waiting to see if 2021 will have their N light seats available, but this wheel will be one of the first expenditures. Your car is sick bro. Looking forward to seeing more of it.
akiraproject24 thanks for the feedback! And yea definitely looking forward for those Seats! I read somewhere that it was confirmed the DCT is coming to the US around November with the option to get the N Light bucket seats, hopefully we’re able to purchase them from the dealerships!
Thats one sexy wheel. Dying to get a forged carbon/alcantara one with N blue stitching
Michael yea all the wheels from them look nice! Let me know if you get one :)
Dam that’s really nice! I will be using your video when I purchase my own down the road. So cal has great stuff but man it’s expensive. I’m going to live on mircowave ramen to afford this stuff.
Paul Fiebig Haha yea unfortunately it is expensive but it’s really great quality and the owner is a really cool dude!
Thanks for the bid. Helped out me a bit. A thing to note for everyone else. That bolt is on tight. You will definitely need a breaker bar (3 feet would work).
Thanks! Yea I would definitely recommend a breaker bar! Will also save your ratcheting mechanism on your ratchets :)
ngl both steering wheels are great, Hyundai really shot it out of the park with this car off the bat
Great video, but I've struggled to separate the steering wheel mounted controls from the original steering wheel. I can't see any more screws that need to come out either. Is there anything else holding them in place on the steering wheel? Wondering if they're glued down as well...
Nothing was glued down to my wheel, after loosening up all the screws I showed on the video they should just come apart from the wheel
hi, Is it possible to move the steering wheel when the car is off ? disconnecting the battery? Thanks
I’m not sure how you got the airbag to come off so effortlessly, I cannot find those clips
Where did you get the carbon fiber accents for the steering wheel
bodie larsen from scgarageworks.com they give you an option of choosing it when you’re customizing your wheel :)
How did you get the wheel to lock up so you could take off the middle bolt? My wheel wants to just turn with the bolt.
I was holding the wheel with my knees and the bolt wasn’t on there that tight so it did move the steering wheel a bit but it also came off no issues
In your opinion which forum is most active and useful for veloster N?
akiraproject24 honestly I like both n-cars.net and Velostern.com but I think people are more active on the n-cars.net one because they also have a section for i30N owners, but they’re both good forums :)
CHRIZ619 I find on N cars you get a lot dudes giving you the “use the search for your answers” instead of just giving a simple answer. I understand do your research, but that’s a good way to kill your engagement from new members. I haven’t posted on that forum yet though. VelosterN.com while isent as active the people that do post there seem more willing to have conversations rather then just look up answers. To each their own though.
Paul Fiebig I actually haven’t been as active as I was before on the forums but yea you get people telling you to use the search function a lot in every forum/Facebook group and what not.
Where did u ordered the steering wheel ?
scgarageworks.com
@@chrizzz619 how long did it take for them to make and send your wheel? just bought one from them lol
@@tavo.simracing I want to say like a month and a half-2 months can’t remember exactly but it did take a while, but I also ordered it when the virus was at its peak in the US so lots of delays.
@@tavo.simracing mine took 2 n a half months. Order the 28th of august n just got it today.
Not sure it works the same with the DTC
Hey! It should be similar to the dct version of the veloster N. The DCT might have extra wires because of the grin shift button but I can’t tell you exactly because I don’t have one. If you have any trouble I recommend asking on one of the veloster N forums. Thanks for watching! :)
