Gonna guess your dad isn't much in to music then lol. I think some places, I wind up practicing the same piece 10-20 times in a row, even after I can play it.
@@Grigeral Well, he is fond of music, patience is what he lacks however. And the deep sections method works wonders on his temper sometimes... But I can play very quietly as well, and I've got a keyboard as well now.
Exactly what I was thinking. Only for me it would be a few weeks! Still, one day I hope to be able to learn a simple song in 20 minutes. Just have to keep practicing...
This is literally me.. Like I try playing and start playing fast then make mistakes like we need to understand that everything needs time ...be steady and consistent enough to see progress rather than trying to achieve it overnight.. Thank you❤
lol-- that is one thing I've learned from your videos to just dumb it down and take your time because your brain remembers the good and the bad !!!thanks Jazer
I’ve seen lots of success with this tactic, and being more particular and intentional with my fingerings because of your videos. Thank you so much, can’t wait to learn more from your content!
The biggest boost to my son's learning were ear training and learning to sight read. He slows way down for every difficult passage, carefully picking his way through until he has it. Using the correct fingers for traversing the difficult sections is another big help.
I could relate this to my typing journey where I was the slowest in the whole class and became the ninja after days of practicing slowly and steadily (without seeing the keyboard) and completed with distinction..
I've been doing this as a self taught pianist and it has helped tremendously. Before I would try to run through 8 bars at a time, killing the mistakes one at a time until it is polished. Now I do 4 bars at a time, with the goal of learning 2 x 4 bars during my a given study study session. But I would rather play 10 bpm than make mistakes anymore😂
Finally you are back !!!! . I missed your videos so much .. 🙏 .. Thank you ..you' re right in everything, also my speach is: every day practicing in slow tempo that's the way to learn play piano 🎹🎼🎶😍.. I'm looking forward to next video 🤗
you can apply this for any instrument on general, also use a metronome and go slow without mistakes consistently then go faster and try to make no mistakes consistently and continue the process
Would you consider having a live play along with you on a beginner piece? The lucky student could be from a random drawing of subscribers and the rest of us could listen and learn.
Only had one year of piano lessons when I was younger. It takes me days or even a months to be able to play a music without mistakes. Glad to know I’m doing my practices correctly. One bar at a time. 🙏🏻
This Grand-master piano player gives this masterpiece video an A+! Because He teaches his students and everyone that watches how to practice the piano correctly. I give him an A+ for Amazing and Audible! Keep up the good work and someday you’ll be just like me I’m 100% certain absolutely that you will be greater than me if nought better. Sincerely Your Gand-Master piano teacher. Lots of love and cheers over here! God bless you in your journey and in whatever you guys and gals become!
the most important tip is to practice the right singing the main bass on the left, so that your left hand learns the main harmony , before adding the notes in the middle
I have so many notes on my sheet music for dynamics, specific areas to focus improvement on, accents, rhythm. Thank God for my family that I have a fancy electronic piano with headphones lol
no this guy is 100% right thought one of the lessons i’ve learned 7 years playinf piano was me playing slow and learning by sections just like this i could learn pieces in a day
I personally believe that in order for someone to have a good balance between practicing and having fun with the music is to know music theory and incorporating it into the studying. For example a student should first study the structure of a piece along with its harmony before playing it, because knowing that information can allow the student to improvise and have much more fun with the selected piece, rather than mindlessly playing notes.
This is also a good memorization and practice technique that can be applied anywhere and everywhere. For example, for developing a game, you dont simply learn how to code, say, a combat system. You learn to code hitboxes, health scripts, movement, etc all individually. And then use them together. Think it's called microtasking
Right up until your dad gets annoyed and demands you play something else😅
What is name this song my bro
@@mohamedelnogomepianist3967 river flows in you
straight up facts

But I can play very quietly as well, and I've got a keyboard as well now.
Then your brother gets mad at you for repeating a song too much
Disallowedly relatable
OH MY GOD YES LMAO
YES SOOOO TRUE
fr
Then you tell him it's a piece and he becomes furious
And the neighbour even can whistle around your song 😌
moral support!
After 20 minutes? Um, add a few days onto that and that would be me!
Exactly what I was thinking. Only for me it would be a few weeks! Still, one day I hope to be able to learn a simple song in 20 minutes. Just have to keep practicing...
@Elissa Hunt you'll get there I used to be the same way
@Elissa Hunt also if your talking about the song he played specifically it's allot easier then it sounds
Not even after 20 days 😢
yes after 20 if you apply what he says lol that's the point. not the whole piece but the thing you might be struggling on
As a pro piano player who specialized in Ragtime. This is all 100% essential
I am so happy for you
This is literally me.. Like I try playing and start playing fast then make mistakes like we need to understand that everything needs time ...be steady and consistent enough to see progress rather than trying to achieve it overnight..
Thank you❤
Relearning piano as an adult. This is helpful
Couldn't say it better myself.
Add on, take regular breaks and get enough sleep 😎
And eat/drink healthily :)
Nice to see you back!
River flows in you - yiruma. Found it in the posts. Thank you😊
Good to see you back, Jaser! You have been missed.
This is actually really good. I tend to play pieces mindlessly(auto) without knowing. Then when it snaps back, the song is close to the end
Following your instructions, I am doing good ❤ Thank you
lol-- that is one thing I've learned from your videos to just dumb it down and take your time because your brain remembers the good and the bad !!!thanks Jazer
Thank you. I will use this to my advantage🙂
True for almost Any musical instrument!
LOVE THIS ADVICE! ❤
Finally u r back jazer! Hope all is well

What a wonderful tip!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, I was able to hit those same 3 points in my early days of learning and just with a book. It really works. Thanks for sharing.
He’s not kidding around! Best method I’ve tried so far!!
Gorgeous sound at the end
Very true, Jazer! 👏 Slow progress in small chunks is definitely the best way to practice!
The biggest boost to my son's learning were ear training and learning to sight read. He slows way down for every difficult passage, carefully picking his way through until he has it. Using the correct fingers for traversing the difficult sections is another big help.

One of my favorite songs 🎵😊

Its even better if you take a section and play it from the end so it becomes 4 - 3, 4 - 2, 3, 4 - 1, 2, 3, 4
I’m learning major keys right now and your tips have helped me a lot when practising them and sheet music in general! Thank you
Jazer, you're back🥳🥳🥳🥳

Same with the violin! Slow and steady
you can apply this for any instrument on general, also use a metronome and go slow without mistakes consistently then go faster and try to make no mistakes consistently and continue the process
You’re back!! So nice to see you again!!
Slow and steady always wins the race
So relatable, glad my teacher is there to always remind me to practice each section slowly... hahah

Great advice, can you give tips on how to get less frustrated, or simply acknowledge that it takes a lot of trail and error
Happy to see you’re back!
Thanks! I was having troubles practicing with both hands, I'll try this strategy tomorrow!
Thank you so much, Piano Man
Hi! Welcome back. I missed your videos
Great advice! Thank you! 👍
Hey that tip is very useful. I'm gonna use it for my violin practice though. Thanks.
I play piano and I agree the method of slow and steady is the best way to learn!!!!
Happy to see you back! Your weekly piano videos have been very helpful to me in my journey to become a better musician.
Ha ha very good👌👌👌😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Your best teacher and friend

That's a great idea! Lemme see what I can do.
I feel seen. I'm glad I have a more intentional way to practice (patiently) and see more consistent progress as my song choices get more challenging.
Great! Can you please post the title of this marvelous piece? Thank you very much!
Great to see you again! I've missed your videos.
More to come!

Love that! I’m learning passacaglia and my teacher told me to slow it way down. I was getting frustrated! Love your video it is spot on for learning 😊
As a teacher, YES. The key to success is SLOW. There’s no reason to make mistakes.

Thank you.
The first one is literally my lil bro playing old MacDonald had a farm
ThX...I use to practice that way...now I realize slow is fast...small is big...
You're good teacher becouse you know certainly our mistakes. keep going respect!!!!!!
You are not only expert in piano but also good in acting.👍😀
🤓
After 100 years I would be still like the 1st way playing
Thanks I needed that ! Missed your videos.

Thank for the tip. I just did this yesterday and it makes a big difference ❤️

i actually recommend to practice 1 measure first and then next measure, and so on. it makes it easy!
"the most important thing when learning is patience and your determination."
Nice to see you back Jazer.
Nice explained
Thanks.... made me selfreflect!👍
Thanks bro i try it and i can play now easily piano
So happy to see I'm practicing right
this is such valuable advice. Keep it up!
bro is simply hthe best i know
lol i needed this video 15 years ago
Very valuable tips sir. Thanks 🙏
just what i needed
Might be the most straight to the point piano video kve ever seen lol good job
20min? You can triple that
Same with guitar its better to also play around ur mistakes rather than restarting everytime u slightly slip up
This was so helpful🙏
I feel so called out, man

If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly.
