My year of birth is his year of death but I really miss him as if he had died not much longer ago

This is just one of the many documentaries about Johnny Cash but is my favorite. I had this on VCR tape 30 or so years ago but it got lost in a move or something and I have been on the lookout for it every since then. Thank you so much for uploading this.

It was awesome how Mr. Cash took time to listen to the boy at 41.49 on the video. Not all music stars would have done that. I don't know who the kid was, but hope he got his audition and did well later. Showed what a caring man Johnny Cash really was

It was not only great to see Johnny, but to see Carl was fantastic. I was so happy to be a fan before it was a "fad" after he died.

Johnny Cash was one of the first musicians I ever got into because of his show on tv and because of me wearing out At Folsom Prison on my record player when I was little. 20 years later I met them both after a show at Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City Missouri. They were such nice down to earth people. No star trip at all.

This shows just how personable Johnny was and how much he loved people. What a genuine icon.

To me his voice sounds like a piss take. Almost like he’s trying to do a parody impression of a guy with a really deep voice. I know he has a really deep voice but I think it’s his delivery or something. Mick Jagger had a period like that (obviously much different voices) but where you’re thinking is this guy being serious or is he taking the piss? “We all need someone we can leeaan on. Anyway, the dude is still an absolute legend and I like his voice I just can’t tell if it’s genuine. I think he more talks in a beautiful voice than sings. Like a great voice for commentary or radio
