As far as I'm concerned, Eric should be listed as a national treasure here in AUS. I still listen to him every week, and I've had the joy of seeing him perform live many times. Always thought-provoking, amusing at times, and without fail a thoroughly entertaining show.
A beautiful and emotional song that I first heard, and always thought was written by Bruce Woodley. With no slight intended on Eric whatsoever, I don't think anyone could quite match Bruce singing it. For power, it stands in my mind next to the Furey's "Green Fields of France". I wish I could find him singing it here in UA-cam. I'd happily buy the track if I could find it. Thanks to Eric for a beautiful and pensive song.

Aww, my heart is cracking. This is beautiful.
This song inspired Australian songstress Judy Small to write "From the Lambing to the Wool".
