    Hello I have a SKY HUNTER LS-128 and I have one bad motor on the left rear pod I will like to know will the Tarantula X6 motor fit or the wl toy v262 motor fit someone please let me know

  • @droneunboxing4366
    @droneunboxing4366 9 років тому +1

    i think they put the tarantula motors in a very lightweight walkera scout x-4 lookalike frame. Allin all i think its a nice toycopter, only fly time is beacause of the heavy frame on the low side.

    what would you say is the best cheap phantom style quad for clear 1080p video with no major jello effect? not entirely sure if i need a gimble* or if it would be better to get a cheap heavy quad and attach a gopro clone like a jcam.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      Vividcg This does not have 1080p video. A gimbal would give you the smoothest video, but you can get video without jello wobble, without using a gimbal. The Cheerson CX-20 has a nice solid GoPro mount, with no gimbal and no jello wobble, for about $300. You could also get something like the Syma X8C, but you would have to rig your own mount, and since it only has brushed motors (not brushless like the CX-20), carrying a GoPro (or clone) will likely kill the motors relatively fast.

    Great video as always and very comprehensive review. Are there parts, esp replacement motors available?
    It looks very aggressive...or is that your flying skills on display...?

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      sirhilsam I don't think there are spare specifically for this (not yet anyway), but I'd imagine the motors are fairly standard and could be found. And, it's both... this quad can get aggressive, and I used my skills to show that off. :D

    Ryan, nice flight video, decent resolution and no jello! I have 2 questions, what is that factory across the street, the one with the smoke stacks? Also you fly over parked cars on your street a lot, have you ever hit one with an RC flyer?

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      351mrclean That factory is the power plant for the University Of Illinois, which is basically across that street. And, one of those cars is mine, and the other is a neighbor's, who I have talked to about it, and he doesn't care. But, no, I've never hit a car. :)

    I don't think I could fly with that TX without laughing. It did have some speed to it on the high rates. Pretty impressive for $160 RTF.

    • @theimacman

      Chad deQuevedo Yeah, I can't stand this new trend of video game-styled transmitters, but I think there is definitely a large section of the hobby that prefers them. :(

    hi @Flyin' Ryan RC do you have the LH-X6 C Intruder: Big Quadcopter with 2MP Camera? Could you please make a review for that too? Because I'm choosing between that and JJRC H12C. I'm just a beginner trying to find what suits for me. I really like the specs of JJRC H12C but based from what I've watch from youtube the camera has too much jello that makes me think to find another one. I would really appreciate if you will give me a reply.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому +1

      MrFreakyPulp I am not familiar with the LH-X6. If you have absolutely no RC flying experience, I would suggest the H12C, purely because it is smaller. But ultimately, I would suggest something much more protected for crashing (you WILL be crashing as you learn), such as what I suggest in this video: ua-cam.com/video/N4qJNgV0DGI/v-deo.html

    You say the monitor is dim, but this is the only I have looked at so far where the picture is actually visable flying outside and that monitor has no visor. Maybe your just using a much better cam to record it than Quad copter 101 uses. Def impressed me altogether.

      +Flyin' Ryan RC Do you think this could carry a GoPro? Cause I have my own FPV setup with a much brighter screen that I could use. Is it as powerful as the tarantula x6? Gearbest has change their price by like $50 so maybe you should update your desc. Thanks!

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  8 років тому

      +Brian Evans Hmm, I'm not sure. This thing is pretty heavy with the big plastic body, so lifting a GoPro may be a lot to ask, and you'd almost certainly kill the motors quickly. Thanks for the heads up about the price... I have updated the video description. :)

    Hey Ryan! Hope this comment finds you in good condition. I had my exams a week ago ang if I pass I'll get an R/C Airplane aka the Micro Xtra 300 from nine eagles. I wanted you to review this sice you are my favorite R/C guy. Looking forward to hear back from you. :)))

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      Natanael Fazon Is that even still available for purchase? I did a quick search, and it seems really old and not for sale anywhere. Anyway, that is not really the kind of plane I fly... I'm not much of a sport plane flyer, as I just don't have that much experience flying planes. Those Extra 300s are seriously sporty and fairly difficult to fly, so I would only suggest that if you have quite a bit of plane flying experience. And, I hope your exam results are good! :D

    • @natanael5931
      @natanael5931 9 років тому

      :DDDD Thanks!! What about the Yak-54?

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      Natanael Fazon Yak's are also very sporty planes. Basically, any plane with a flat low or mid wing will be more difficult to fly than something with dihedral or high-wing.

    • @natanael5931
      @natanael5931 9 років тому

      Flyin' Ryan RC Ah oh thanks for your suggestions. :) I do have quite a bit of experience with planes and can fly a 3ch plane and certian quads like the Hubsan Q4. I had a plane the nine eagles sky eagle and it flew very well but it was around 4 years ago so i was a total idiot at R/C but now i know a lot more but the plane unfortunately went to its heaven and was no longer in one piece!

    Hi Ryan. Iv recently got into quads. Looking at getting a bigger one than I have at the moment. Iv seen the reviews on this one and the other lagers ones. What would you recommend for an all round quad. I'm leaning towards the tarantula x6 at the moment but not sure. Hope u don't mind me asking

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому +1

      gary ward Well, I wouldn't move up to a bigger quad until you are 100% certain that you can make entire flights without crashing. But, if you think your skills are up to that point, then I would suggest either the Tarantula X6 or Syma X8C to start.

    • @Loopyg84
      @Loopyg84 9 років тому

      Wow thanks for the quick reply. I'm getting confident with flying now so looking at the bigger outdoor quad. Love the speed on the x6 but worried the camera isn't goin to be good enough I see there are some mods to help the jello problem

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      gary ward My suggestion would be to get the X6 if you want to do sport flying, and the X8C if you want to do aerial videography. And, with either, you'd get much better filming results if you manually attached your own camera, like a Mobius Action Cam.

  • @APC2013
    @APC2013 8 років тому

    Hey! I have some compare questions that I would like answered if that's okay. I'll be asking whether it's this quad or the WL Toys V686G that is better for the specified area. (I know you've reviewed both) :)
    Stability:
    Image/Video Quality:
    FPV Screen (Which is less dim?):
    Range:
    Speed (Not yaw-rate, just pure tilt speed):
    Thanks again! :D Keep up the great work!

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  8 років тому

      +Isaac A Well, I think I've already showed all that stuff in my reviews... well, other than range. I don't test range. It's hard for me to recall such specific details this long after the reviews though. I haven't flown either of those quads in a long time, and I have flown so many other things, it's hard to remember details about older stuff. Image quality is definitely the V686G, as should be quite clear by watching my reviews. Speed I think would have to go to the LS-128. I think the LS-128 may have also had the brighter screen.

    Ryan, be aware, it's not a 5.8G FPV but a 2.4G like the JJRC H9D, Spy Hawkeye IMHP

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      SeBy DocKy Ah, I was not aware of that.

    • @pixel325
      @pixel325 9 років тому

      SeBy DocKy actually, it IS a 5.8G FPV system. The 2.4G is for controlling the quad itself, says so on the gearbest site. :)

    • @sebydocky5080
      @sebydocky5080 9 років тому +2

      cinexstudios I am sorry but it's false informations ... I reviewed in detail these model and the FPV part is done by a 2.4G digital solution (not WiFI based). You can check the FPV antenna is trimmed to 31mm as for a 2.4G frequency. It's not the false of GB or any other sellers... the brand itself are delivering false informations

    • @pixel325
      @pixel325 9 років тому

      SeBy DocKy a bit surprised though if it is, since 2.4G is used for most low-level quads to control them and thus the FPV needs to be 5.8G not to interfere on the same hz as the control.. but im not a hardcore techy so might be so.. however if it is 2.4G on the FPV, does that mean it's 5.8 to control the quad on this one ? :)

    • @sebydocky5080
      @sebydocky5080 9 років тому +3

      cinexstudios I means for this quad both FPV and radio are in 2.4G... but with a bit of luck, they do no overlap too much in this band ....But for sure, this sharing is limiting the radio range

      Braden Emrick I personally despise unboxing videos and will never do one. lol I just don't really see the point in them, and I don't have the time to do a video every time I open a new RC. :/ I film my reviews once a month, and film like 20 at a time, so while I'm constantly releasing reviews, I'm not actually filming them that regularly.

    Hey Ryan, I have one of these. It's pretty cool for a LOT cheaper knock-off of my real Scout X4. Now that one's a BEAST! :)
    Anyway, my camera tilt works fine. I'm wondering if maybe your servo lead is plugged in backwards. The black wire should be towards the front, red in the middle (duh. haha), and the white should be toward the back.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому +1

      Tim Adams Yeah, white is towards the back (I just quickly looked at a still from the video). I can't recall exactly, but I think the plug would only go in one way, and either way, I am pretty sure I would've checked the polarity when plugging it in. Wish it was that simply of a fix though. haha Oh well.

      Natanael Fazon That is a Pole Cat, which is also a sport plane. Really, it all comes down to your flying experience. What do you have experience with? If this is your first plane, I'd highly suggest starting with something like a Cessna or Sport Cub, with a high wing.

    Ishan Behere we cannot reply to your posts, Ryan has stated somewhere in his videos how to fix those settings, either way Seby Docky has done a full review here of the FQ777-124 ua-cam.com/video/sOIJc08NkmE/v-deo.html check it out, he is one heck of a tester. Quadcopter 101 reviewed it here ua-cam.com/video/5gpwRHj-eDo/v-deo.html so two different reliable reviews for ya, I hope this helps.

      Anthony Eaglebarger Banggood seems to give those guys preference, since they can get their videos out much faster than me. :( My FQ777-124 that they sponsored me did not get sent out with the first batch, as Seby and Q101's apparently did, so I had to wait for it to be restocked. Mine just shipped out yesterday. :/

  • @Partok81
    @Partok81 9 років тому

    I like that this thing is sporty and all but it's a bit too 'fake' for me. It tries to look like it's equipped with gps (which it isn't) and they shape the motor pods as if it has brushless motors; yet it doesn't. Too many details on this quad are a bit off: the screen image shape vs what the cam really sees, it advertised on GB as having an 850mah battery; yet it really has a 1000mah, it records video in segments, etc., etc. Great review btw.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      Partok81 Well, the frame is a clone of the Walkera Scout X4, so that explains the GPS and brushless motor look. I think the idea of quads like this is to prepare people to move up to quads like the Scout, without actually putting that much money in the air, and I can appreciate that. :)

  • @TheRCAddict
    @TheRCAddict 9 років тому

    Very nice! Lol, I dont want it for the FPV but the way it flies :D I see you have a shareasale link here, gearbest makes me put one of the goo.gl tracking links on and not shareasale so they can track. Are they just confident that you will get sales? I am saving my money to build my own brushless mini quad! That was a decent size battery though, hopefully the motors will last

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      The RCAddict Hmm, yeah they may just be trying to get an idea of whether it is worth it for them to sponsor you, whereas they know they are making money off my reviews. heh :/

      Flyin' Ryan RC Nice. I got mine for $37 from Tmart on sale and paid $13 extra for DHL which came in 4 days. Lol I sat here at 11:59 refreshing your channel to see what review was next. Too bad I have to wait to the morning to watch but the X6 is very nice :D I am going to fill out all of the info for my review of the sky dreamer now and schedule it for tomorrow :) Did you get one of the Eachine H8's? • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      The RCAddict Yeah, I have the H8 and still need to film the flight for that too. It's a weird quad... really only good for going crazy with, not actually flying it in circuits or whatever. But man can it spin on high rates! Banggood is sending me that quad-in-a-box too, but last I check, it hadn't shipped yet.

    • @TheGusK
      @TheGusK 9 років тому

      Flyin' Ryan RC You're too touchy. Your *REVIEW* was fine. I guess I have to be more specific. Horrible video from the onboard camera. :)

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  9 років тому

      TheGusK Ah, well I wouldn't say I was being too touchy, since this is a video, and you simply said 'horrible video'. heh I was just curious what I did differently this time that made this a horrible video. lol But, yeah, the onboard footage is probably 0.3MP, so I think this one may actually be intended only for FPV flying, and not for filming. This could carry another camera, like a Mobius or 808, though in addition to the FPV camera. That'd be kinda cool. :)
