    Title: A Winter Jubilee Harmony
The stage was set, the lights dimmed, anticipation hung in the air like a gentle snowfall. Edina High School's Winter Jubilee was about to begin, a celebration of music, unity, and the magic of the holiday season.
As the audience settled into their seats, Bennett Smalley stepped forward, his voice resonating through the auditorium as he began to recite the timeless words of "Twas the Night" with a warmth that set the scene for the evening.
"‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse..."
The combined forces of the Concert Choir, Concert Band, and Concert Orchestra, under the baton of Christopher Piela, filled the air with the sounds of "Christmas on Broadway." It was a medley of festive tunes that brought the spirit of the season to life:
🎵 "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
    Everywhere you go..."
🎵 "Pine cones and holly berries,
Popcorn for you, apples for me..."
    🎵 "Toyland, toyland,
    Little girl and boy land..."
    🎵 "March of the toys,
    The big parade is here..."
🎵 "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens..."
    🎵 "Haul out the holly,
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again..."
    🎵 "God bless us everyone,
We're a broken people living under loaded gun..."
Applause filled the auditorium as the combined ensembles seamlessly transitioned to the next piece.
Bennett Smalley returned to the stage, his voice animated as he delved into the whimsical world of "Elf."
"‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the workshop, not a creature was stirring... except for Buddy the Elf!"
The Concert Band took center stage, their instruments weaving a magical tapestry of sound with Samuel R. Hazo's "Across the Halfpipe." The audience was transported to a winter wonderland, where the air was crisp and the snow sparkled under the moonlight.
But the magic didn't end there. The Concert Choir stepped forward, their voices blending in perfect harmony as they sang the antiphonal arrangement of "Deck The Hall."
🎵 "Deck the hall with boughs of holly,
    Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la..."
Bennett Smalley's narration continued, guiding the audience through each enchanting moment of the performance.
"And as the night grew colder, and the stars began to twinkle, another tale unfolded..."
The Concert Orchestra took their turn in the spotlight, enchanting the audience with their rendition of Danny Elfman's "What’s This?" The haunting melody filled the air, transporting listeners to a world of wonder and delight.
The energy in the auditorium reached a crescendo as the Concert Band burst into "Brazilian Bell Carol," confetti raining down from above as the Concert Choir created a wave of sound that swept through the room.
But amidst the festive cheer, there was room for reflection. The Concert Choir took center stage once more, their voices hushed yet powerful as they sang John Rutter's "Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind."
🎵 "Blow, blow, thou winter wind,
    Thou art not so unkind..."
As the last note faded into the air, the Concert Orchestra picked up the melody, their strings weaving a haunting rendition of Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees."
The Concert Band followed suit with "Cowboy Christmas," their spirited performance adding a touch of western flair to the evening.
But the highlight of the night was yet to come. With Paul Kile now conducting, the combined ensembles came together once more to perform a medley of holiday favorites, their voices and instruments blending in perfect harmony.
As the final notes of "Sleigh Ride" echoed through the auditorium, the audience erupted into applause, standing ovations filling the air as the performers took their bows.
It was a Winter Jubilee to remember, a celebration of music, friendship, and the magic of the holiday season. And as the lights dimmed and the audience made their way home, the spirit of the evening lingered on, a warm glow in the hearts of all who had been lucky enough to be a part of it.
