For anyone that has owned and loved a dog, they know what you are feeing. When we take them into our homes and hearts, we make that bargain, we do everything we can for the dog and we in turn mean everything to them. If we are lucky we outlive them, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy when we lose them. Awhile back a saw a couple walking a beautiful aged golden retriever. I was thinking how lucky that dog is to have such a loving family, and how fortunate those people are to have had that faithful companion all these years.
I am sorry for your loss I lost the love of my life on July 16th 2023 and it has broken me. He was a 13 and half year old Maltese and he was amazing. If you can you may want to consider volunteering at shelters so you can be around dogs at least that may help with your loneliness anyways again I am sorry for you loss God bless
My brown bearded collie just turned 14 and she has a inoperable tumor and won’t live for more than 4 months, I’m going to cherish the time left, her name is also Bella
This is the saddest line I’ve ever seen. I also miss my big black 1/2 German Shepherd 1/2 Newfoundland dog midnight. She looked somewhat like a big Black Lab. She was my girl so she was cuter than a black Lab. lol. I think died when she was around 13
I love how Layla was rolling around in the grass & the ump came out in front of home plate & just gave her a minute to do her thing…”play will *_NOT_* resume until Layla is done with the grass!” (we all know how umps like to come out in front of,home plate & dust it off to give the batter or the pitcher some time, but this ump just stood there & watched her 🥰) The soon-to-be Bat Dog looks eager to get in there! Good luck 👍🏼 Happy Retirement Layla 🩷
I'm glad this was recommended to me. Back in the late 70s when i played little league ball the neighborhood dog that lived next door to the ballpark, a St Bernard/Dalmation mix, "Pokey" would show up for every game all on his own and retrieve the bats. He always took them to the Home dugout regardless of which team had been at bat. Pokey did his job up until the day that he passed away quietly under a giant oak tree that grew in the parking lot tree row. 😢 RIP Pokey.

I do too, I never knew there was a bat dog. These local stories really show us whats going on in the world around us.
Touch of humanity = caring more about a cute animal than another sentient human.
