    Chelsea I ditched the clay bar months ago. On lightly contaminated clearcoat I’ll use just the clay towel. On heavy contaminated clearcoat I’ll first use an iron remover then use the clay towel. I have clay sponges and a clay disc for the da polisher but they’re more aggressive than what’s needed on most vehicles. Keep up the great work!

    Recently purchased the clay towel and used it on two vehicles......I am NOT disappointed.
    Tried other clay towels and mitts. They did the job but left quite a bit of marring. One of the best clay towels i've used.

    These definitely last. I still have the original ultra clay towels and they still work fantastic after around 40 or so decons and a number of wash, clay wax's I can't remember. Little tip, buy one for decons and buy one for wash, clay wax services.

    Yes, we all seem to be getting older 😁 and we must have a good diet besides the lots of exercise we do during the day.
    Oh, just noticed in this video you protected your right thumb.
    One of the things I normally do is use from WaxPlanet the soap named Eight Below or Ultimate or Autowash from Bilt Hamber then Korrosol from Bilt Hamber before using any clay method. Then, if needed the exact clay sponge with the soap.

    GREAT job as always. By the way, I have started using P & S Pearl soap which is the slickest soap I have ever used. 5 gallons is $48 to $64 depending on vendor and sale price, amazing. The lubricity is out of this world and I now totally understand why Pan and so many others are raving about it. It's not a big foamer, but it is an excellent cleaning prewash in a cannon or in a contact wash with the best lubricity. Try it you will love it.

      Clay glove is fine! I just like the larger towels because I can fold it in floor and get more use out of it plus less tendency to push down hard where as with a mitt, sometimes our nature is to scrub and you don’t want to scrub with a clay towel, you let the towel do the work

    In my opinion, synthetic clay bars, towels, etc all cause way too much micro marring. Also notice that it doesn’t remove traffic film that is leftover from wash process. And I’ve had bad luck with black streaks from synthetic clay products

    Yes clay towels are great for lazy people, problem is 99% of towels leave tons more marring and scratches then traditional clay, not a huge problem if your going to paint correct or polish after anyways, but just to use as a semi regular maintenance wash not a great pruduct, i personally haven't used rag companies clay towel so i can't say forsure to bad you didn't show a side by side comparison with a swirl light after you dry the vehicle to see.

      Even though I always polish after claying the trc clay towel it’s as gentle as anything I’ve used. Tested on a freshly polished section on black paint and I needed a light to notice anything and it was minimal. I’m not sure it’s as effective on stubborn stuff as traditional clay but it sure is efficient. This is replacing my fine grade nanoskin mitt now.

    I like this claying method. Now the question is: what are you going to do with winter coming? I have to shut water off outside due to freeze up. The only thing I can do is rinseless washing in my garage, and I do that sparingly.

    • @attention2detailswchelsea
      @attention2detailswchelsea  3 роки тому +1

      You can use your rinseless wash as lube! Do your panel with the rinseless wash, have clay towel soaking in same bucket, clay the panel with rinseless wash, can even use a spray wax as additional lubricant and wash, clay and wax ALL AT ONCE!

      @@attention2detailswchelsea ok.....I just watched video with Yvan. I get the idea. The only thing is I don't trust folks pushing their products. I trust independent folks (like you) who use any kind of products they want to get job done. The sponge in their rinseless wash with clay towel? Hmmm?? Dirt on car, dirt to sponge, dirt to water, (where clay towel is) dirt floats around and gets both sponge and clay towel contaminated. My water got pretty dirty the first time I did rinseless wash, so stopped putting wash mitt/sponge back into clean water right away. Use 5 mitts to rinseless wash car, never dunking dirty mitt into wash solution. Then dry with towel. I'd prefer how you do things in the real world, then watch a scientist push products. I trust you way more!!!

      If you have an iron fallout remover like the one from Griot's Garage or Meguiar's Iron Remover Spray Clay DRTU200232 or from Bilt Hamber Korrosol or from AM Details the iron fallout remover after a wash or pre-wash, will dissolve lots of the iron particles and then you check for the remaining embedded particles to use the clay sponge with the soap as lubricant.
