Jesus Christ, it is insane how easily the group is swayed by one person's words. They always seem to share the same opinion until some figure of authority steps up and changes it almost immediately. Wenona was right. They do seem desperate for someone to look up to. On another note, it is nice to see Damon acknowledging everything Diana has done.
Damon's VA really knocked it out of the park for his delivery in the game. I really felt his disbelief in the pathos route. He's like 'am I really about to say this?'
It's not really disbelief. It's more so him struggling to open up. He's never really let his guard down around others so him remembering their convos and trying to rationalize it with his logic is his way of justifying it so he can make sense of it.
@@scarlightemperor3410 he did sound really reluctant to say what he was about to say. Most likely out of a place, where he knew that he would sound weird if he went against his initial accusation. That's sort of why he sounds uncertain to me.
My theory on the logos/pathos routes is that like V3 logic and emotion will be a main theme in this game. Like truth and lies for V3. Also both routes reflect both Damon and Diana. Damon usually favors logic over emotion, but him has to choose between using his logic or trusting his emotions in the trial. Even though he logically put together Diana being the culprit, his emotions tell him otherwise. I feel this will play into Damon's growth throughout the story. Diana favors emotions. Maybe her growth could be her learning to trust her emotions and challenging Damon's own beliefs, but also coming to terms of all the death she'll face in the game. Also, something i want to point out. Damon's and Diana's animals are both reptilian and their names both start with D. Diana was already hinted at being the rival.
@@lavenderrose82 those are very interesting points. They do seem to be setting up for the both of them to be narrative foils that could benefit from learning from their opposing beliefs. Damon learning to become more intune and open with his emotions, while Diana learns to become more pragmatic and realistic. Though because they're so different, they're bound to clash with their different views one way or another. Damon seemed so conflicted about his feelings here already and by being exposed around Diana more, this may fuel into his inner conflict among other things.
I love how Damon stands up for Diana here when no one else does, just like how she stood up for him at the beginning of this chapter. Its clear how the small moments Diana took to check on Damon's well being did leave an impact on him, even if he never openly shows it.
Personally, I prefer the pathos over the logos route. Not only are we revealed more information about how trials work, but I feel like this is a really key point for Damon's development that the logos route just doesn't cover, even though he's still technically using his instincts there.
@@Zumba__ Basically referring to emotions and stuff, it's more emotional based thinking than straight logical facts. I think if I recall that correctly. So this is basically has those emotional factors and stuff into the route including the way of thinking in some parts.
I like that you can solve cases using 100% pure logic, but you don't HAVE to. Damon can also trust his instincts and make a decision based on emotion. Also, Tozu's explanation in this route is very interesting. I imagine that if he hasn't become bored with a trial yet, it's because there are still more mysteries that need to be solved. But if most of the class wants to vote anyway, then he has no choice but to let them vote, because otherwise he would be practically spelling out that they're about to vote for the wrong person. I like that the devs gave players this to think about as a reward for finding the Pathos route.

I feel like the victim and killer for this chapter is a pretty good twist. Think about it, throughout the updates, you’d expect them to be the full support and rival through the whole game. So, seeing them die first is pretty interesting. But, this is just my opinion.
@@JayZ69000 I personally think it would be interesting if Kai was the new support and Diana was the new “antagonist.” There were noticeable efforts to build up a sense of companionship between Kai and Damon in chapter 1, and Diana has the same thing going for her that Wolfgang did (a direct counter to the main character who, if this was a different killing game, could make for a worthwhile protagonist themselves)
@@silverseedva You got me thinking and I do agree, the main thing that made me think Diana could be support would be the Pathos route but yet again, Damon seemed to really dislike the whole heroic stunt she did at the end. I'm not so sure about her being the new rival, but Kai being the new support makes sense considering their relationship seems to really be improving. I'm still leaning over to Wenona being the new rival tho, her rebuttal showdown really made me think it could work really well.
See, I-- like most people-- was thinking Wenona would become the next rival type. But then I really started to think about it and it didn't really feel right. She definitely fits the role, but she's never really had any opposing views of Damon other than MAYBE the no one's gonna kill thing, but I might be misremembering that. Besides, she definitely seems contrary to just about everyone at all times, which also fits the role, but it still doesn't feel right. I don't know how to explain it, but I'm looking at this the same way wrestling fans figure out the storylines. Let's say you've got a ladder match at a PPV going on with 6 wrestlers involved. You've got 3 pairings of a good guy(a "babyface" or "face" for short) and a bad guy(a heel) and they've started feuding before the PPV prior to this one. You can usually tell who is going to win based off of the intensity of the feuds as well as the amount of time it has been going on, but you can also tell based off how popular that wrestler is. For example, let's say that two of the faces are in feuds with two of the heels. Ok, that potentially rules out 4 competitors. Then you look at how often the remaining two have been winning, how popular they are with the crowd(or hated, in the heel's case) and the winner is usually the one who needs it the most for a push. While Wenona does fit the role of an antagonist that eventually changes, she definitely already has beef with the likes of Grace and Cassidy. And though she contributed a good amount to the trial, she was never really front and center like previous characters who were in that role. Hopefully she takes more of a role in the next chapter to kind of solidify her place in the lineup, but right now I'm just not feeling her as an enemy turned ally type. With the way the devs are subverting original Danganronpa narratives, I'd be more inclined to say Diana, but I really think Grace is going to fill that role. Contrary to Wenona who has beef with a few people, Grace has less of a problem with others with the exception of Wenona and the now deceased Eva. Also, the way they brushed off Diana's speech at the end makes me think they have something different planned for her than to simply be the ally. Actually, that might give more credence to the idea that Diana will become the new rival.. But the fact that Grace was given such an odd amount of spotlight in both the prologue and Chapter 1 without actually shining a direct light on her. Despite her violent disposition and aggressive personality, she isn't stupid by any means. She doesn't interrupt the flow of conversation with goofy voicelines or anything that isn't relevant to the case. Matter of fact, she's awfully quiet for the most part until something she feels she has to vocalize comes to her mind. Not to mention, other than Diana who essentially idolized Wolfgang, Eva who hated him, and Damon who acknowledged him, Grace was not only the closest to Wolfgang, but she was the most broken up about it(Obviously Diana was the saddest, but whereas Diana was silent about everything until pressed, Grace was more active than inactive). I also found what Grace said when they were backing Damon to be interesting. "Even if he(Damon) wasn't there, we would have came to the same conclusion." I think Wolfgang and Grace talked about Damon and Eva the same way Damon and Eva talked about Desmond and Wolfgang and something he had said about Damon had convinced her to trust in him while also convincing her that Eva just couldn't be trusted. Or at the very least, Grace considered the facts at the time of the argument and deduced, much like everyone else, that since it couldn't be Damon, it HAD to be Eva. There's evidence to support the theory they spoke too. In addition to the comment about Damon, when she's yelling at Eva, Grace tells Eva "Only someone as sick-minded as you would kill Wolfgang." Why would she say something like that unless she knew or heard something about Eva? Sure, it could be because Eva lied about her talent and the Tozu Trinkets, but that hardly warrants such a strongly loaded attack like that. My theory? I think that Grace had Eva's blackmail. At the very least, we can account for 6 people's blackmails: Wolfgang, Desmond, Cassidy, Jean, Grace and Toshiko. I'm sure the next trial-- or maybe even a future trial, but probably the former-- will make use of the remaining ones somehow.
One of my favorite things about the Pathos route is just how silly it is. Non-Senseless, the song that usually plays in chaotic or ridiculous situations in the game, plays during it, and I think it’s really fun that it’s (mainly about Tozu but it’s also) about Damon’s actions. We definitely see a side to him we don’t really see anywhere else, maybe with the exception of when he asks Tozu why he got Wolfgang’s blackmail. Speaking of which, it also reinforces the idea of Damon having more tendencies of the typical Danganronpa antagonist than protagonist by having him ask another question to Tozu and using that information against the other participants. Also, Tozu making Damon say please before answering his question is peak.
makes me think that it might actually have an impact in future chapters, since I feel like it reveals so much info on how the trials work in the future.

Wolfgangs voice actor in Diana's flashback did real well, the art is so good too and really gives you that image in your head about what's happening. Damon actually taking the more emotional route in this path for Diana's sake is really well done. This is something you can't get out of the original Danganronpa game, and its really fascinating to me how there's a separate path to go down if you do certain things to cause it even if the change isn't much to some people. I got this route on my playthrough, and I honestly didn't even realise I could use logic. I thought it was like V3 lies where at one point in the trial, you have to use it. Its really interesting how much you skip when you go by pathos rather than logos (I didn't even realise Grace had a rebuttal until I watched the trial playthrough), kinda goes to show that it's easier/faster to just trust your instincts than it is to try and logic it out
I wish the pathos route didn't skip over gameplay elements like Grace's rebuttal. It would be nice if the pathos route offered an alternative gameplay moment instead, for example, instead of getting a rebuttal showdown with grace, you get one with Eva, or a unique non-stop debate where you can only progress with another empathy bullet.
Anyone else have the feeling we'll be getting different endings depending on whether we used ethos route or pathos route more or have them equal by this games equivalent of CH6?
I *seriously* suspect they'll give the pathos vs logic routes this kind of impact depending on how much you do one or the other. It's fine if they don't, but it'd REALLY give this difference in approach in the trial some serious worth in seeing the difference. Dare I also say additional replayability?
Theory for Chapter 2: It will be related to Noah’s ark story from the Book, meaning Jean would play an important role in that chapter since he is the Ultimate Ship Captain, who is more likely to save many people like how Noah saves his family and the animals from the sinners.
I wonder if going Pathos or Logic route will somehow affect Damon's character development throughout the game, with Pathos obviously resulting in the most changes for his character.
Here is an interesting Scrum Debate I came up with for this chapter. This is played after the pathos route but before Diana explains what happened. Should We Hear Diana's Side Of The Story? No, We Shouldn't! Grace Madison Kai Monteago Eva Tsunaka Mark Berskii Wenona Jett Dawson Toshiko Kayura Ulysses Wilhelm Yes, We Should! Damon Maitsu Jean DeLamer Eloise Taulner Desmond Hall Cassidy Amber Ingrid Grimwall Diana Venicia (Wolfgang Akire) Script Grace Madison: It's obvious Diana is the killer! *Voting* is our only option now to deal with her. Damon Maitsu: I'm not *voting* until it's conclusive that she's the killer. Kai Monteago: But you literally were the one to say that it's her. Don't let her *niceness* change your mind. Ingrid Grimwall: Her *niceness* is the reason why we're not absolutely convinced she would kill someone. Wenona: Clearly, she can *fake* her tears to make you guys doubt about accusing her. Eloise Taulner: But being *fake* from the start would obviously leave cracks this far since meeting each other on the train. Eva Tsunaka: Even so, she could have a *motive* towards killing Wolfgang specifically. We're just collateral damage for her freedom afterwards. Jean DeLamer: We have not seen a *motive* between her and Wolfgang to suggest anything of the sort. Wolfgang received my blackmail, remember? Jett Dawson: That's not to say that Diana doesn't have Wolfgang's *blackmail*. It must have been real juicy if she wanted to kill him after reading it. Cassidy Amber: True, but we can't be sure she got his *blackmail*. It's a shame no one has owned up to having it, but it doesn't automatically make it Diana . Ulysses Wilhelm: Blackmail aside, she is the only person without a corroborated alibi. No one can say what she was truly *doing* in the morning. Desmond Hall: Therefore, we should hear her out for what she was *doing* at the time. Then we'll all be convinced. THIS IS OUR ANSWER!

Wait holy fuck I’m early WHAT ?!?!?!?! Bro. That chapter 1 trial shook me to my core. That trial was so interesting and eerie as fuck. Can’t wait to see what they’re cooking in the future chapters yippee !!!!!!
I like to think that this is the canonical route since it gives us more info on the trial as well as some scenes that imo weren’t answered in the logos route (like Diana’s talk with Damon the night before the murder which was used here to elevate the affect that Diana and her kindness had with Damon.)
Damon made things really silly with Pathos while he suggests that Diana explains her story of getting framed instead of Jean, even though the conclusion didn’t change.
This route honestly does give Damon and even the class trials better development than the logic route, and Tozu talks more here. Though I still prefer the Logic route. Still, this is the better route in terms of character development for both Damon and Tozu. Also. I like the organ music that plays when Damon defies the others. Sorry about my preference. Still, I hope you have a good day!
Something I did notice and what I haven't seen people talk about is Eva's mental state. I fear she has something called a victim syndrome, something which she probably got when she was in middle school. As her backstory showed in the trial she wasn't being bullied, she was just in her own misery as others talked to eachother happily. Wolfgang must've been her mental breaking point. Which led her to being tempted and tricked to start the first murder. Best portrayal of what a bad mental health can do to a person

after they released the prologue, an extra year was spent on optimizing the game, so they likely won’t have to do that again this time around. in a q&a, they said it shouldn’t take as long to release as it did the last time around, so i think it’s safe to assume it should take around a year to a year and a half? not trying to get your hopes up since it can’t be confirmed, but it shouldn’t take two years like last time(which was already very impressive in my opinion)

Dare I also say additional replayability?
in the faq in their discord, it is stated that there won’t be multiple endings. would be cool though
Your turn to die type of deal would be cool
Theory for Chapter 2:
It will be related to Noah’s ark story from the Book, meaning Jean would play an important role in that chapter since he is the Ultimate Ship Captain, who is more likely to save many people like how Noah saves his family and the animals from the sinners.
this chapter 100% broke me, which means you’re doing a good job. i can’t wait for the future chapters!!!
this route becomes the same as the normal version again at 1:29:30 if anyone else is doing a comparison
I was wondering if there are any other changes so I was watching this on 2x speed but yeah it only changes a small part but it's still cool
Thanks, i was looking for the difference put it is really small
But*
1:21:45 for pathos route
The title didn’t lie, this path is quite pathosy
Gotta love the dedication with an entire video dedicated just for the pathos route, you guys did amazing for Ch.1 :D

Grace Madison
Kai Monteago
Eva Tsunaka
Mark Berskii
Wenona
Jett Dawson
Toshiko Kayura
Ulysses Wilhelm
Yes, We Should!
Damon Maitsu
Jean DeLamer
Eloise Taulner
Desmond Hall
Cassidy Amber
Ingrid Grimwall
Diana Venicia
(Wolfgang Akire)
Script
Grace Madison:
It's obvious Diana is the killer! *Voting* is our only option now to deal with her.
Damon Maitsu:
I'm not *voting* until it's conclusive that she's the killer.
Kai Monteago:
But you literally were the one to say that it's her. Don't let her *niceness* change your mind.
Ingrid Grimwall:
Her *niceness* is the reason why we're not absolutely convinced she would kill someone.
Wenona:
Clearly, she can *fake* her tears to make you guys doubt about accusing her.
Eloise Taulner:
But being *fake* from the start would obviously leave cracks this far since meeting each other on the train.
Eva Tsunaka:
Even so, she could have a *motive* towards killing Wolfgang specifically. We're just collateral damage for her freedom afterwards.
Jean DeLamer:
We have not seen a *motive* between her and Wolfgang to suggest anything of the sort. Wolfgang received my blackmail, remember?
Jett Dawson:
That's not to say that Diana doesn't have Wolfgang's *blackmail*. It must have been real juicy if she wanted to kill him after reading it.
Cassidy Amber:
True, but we can't be sure she got his *blackmail*. It's a shame no one has owned up to having it, but it doesn't automatically make it Diana .
Ulysses Wilhelm:
Blackmail aside, she is the only person without a corroborated alibi. No one can say what she was truly *doing* in the morning.
Desmond Hall:
Therefore, we should hear her out for what she was *doing* at the time. Then we'll all be convinced.
THIS IS OUR ANSWER!
Wow, this was really enjoyable to read. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this.
It's really interesting to see Damon breaking arguments using his heart and not mind if you could say like that(srry english isn't my first language), even though I prefer Damon using only logic I like this route too

PATHOS ROUTE IS HERE WOHOOOO BABY
This chapter gave me more depression, congratulations
I lost my two favs in 1 episode

i CANNOT believe they posted this 2 weeks after breaking us?? anyway love yall ❤
I'm curious whether in future chapters the path we choose will affect who dies or the ending of the game itself.
It better does honestly!
Diana tbh could help sway Damon in ch2 from the whole Pissed off part
I very much doubt it. Making just one voice-acted route with one murder and one execution animation is already labor-intensive enough.
I MISS MY HUSBAND AND WIFE 😭🙏💍
Two birds one stone 😀
real.. why did they kill my 2 favs in the first chapter lol-
This route honestly does give Damon and even the class trials better development than the logic route, and Tozu talks more here. Though I still prefer the Logic route. Still, this is the better route in terms of character development for both Damon and Tozu. Also. I like the organ music that plays when Damon defies the others. Sorry about my preference. Still, I hope you have a good day!
Wait I did this route by accident cuz I thought that’s what you were supposed to do lol
Lol nah. It's like V3 with the Perjury routes

If Kai lives I'll die happy. LET THAT BOY LIVE😭
THIS TRIAL MADE ME SO EMOTIONAL 💔
2:46:59 damon bro IM FUCKING CRYING
Something I did notice and what I haven't seen people talk about is Eva's mental state.
I fear she has something called a victim syndrome, something which she probably got when she was in middle school.
As her backstory showed in the trial she wasn't being bullied, she was just in her own misery as others talked to eachother happily.
Wolfgang must've been her mental breaking point.
Which led her to being tempted and tricked to start the first murder.
Best portrayal of what a bad mental health can do to a person
Curious to who our next victim and killer will be
I really missed the slot machine that reveals the culprit at the end of the trial; it had so much of Danganronpa's essence.
And the roulette wheel
We're winning with this one diamon stands.

Man, I have the worst luck when it comes to anything related to Danganronpa and Fanganronpa related content. Just like one of my favorite characters, Leon Kuwata, one of my favorite characters here becomes the first blackened! I can't catch a break; I always get broken, as everyone I like (Aside from Sakura in chapter 4 of THH) dies at the beginning or the first half. I'm crossing my fingers to hope that my second favorite characters (Mark, Jet, and Wenona) don't die. ;_;

Pathos is more like an emotional logic(eng not my first language)

No, there’s also a logic route. I won’t spoil what happens, but it’s on this channel.

The pathos route is what you get when you use an emotional argument instead of a piece of evidence during a nonstop debate.
It's like when you lie in drv3! It's more of an emotional route instead of the usual logical route

probably a dumb guestion but what is the pathos route?
Basically referring to emotions and stuff, it's more emotional based thinking than straight logical facts. I think if I recall that correctly. Hope that helps!
Wenona could be Chapter 2 murderer and Grace could be the victim
that would be all 4 of my favorites gone in the first two chapters. i have to personally vote no lol
There are other routes? This one looks just like what I did. What is the difference between this and the other ones?
Also, what does "pathos" mean?
Basically referring to emotions and stuff, it's more emotional based thinking than straight logical facts. I think if I recall that correctly.
What's the difference?
No rebuttal with Grace, plus different dialogue and Tozu interaction
UA-cam hid this from me for 18 mins!?
I just found out about different routes and there’s already a video lmao
Something about the chapter struck me as suspicious. Who had Diana's blackmail? And why didn't they approach her for two days? I might have missed that information, if not, there might be another traitor in the group.
the rebuttal showdown with wenona is something im stuck on because this game refuses to take my inputs apparently. literally the words too fast for the inputs to work despite me button mashing. wont let me save or anything either. if anyone knows how to help lmk
edens garden drop lets GO
ngl I didn't realize this had multiple routes cause I couldn't figure out the logic route LMAO
best music doing this route lets you skip grace rebutle showdown
I have a question when chapter 2 would come out, I really liked the prologue and chapter 1.
Give em time, they need at least more than an year
They WILL surely do tease us tho
@@feroxino1051 Maybe, and you're right, we have to give them time for now, I can only watch chapter 1 several times.
after they released the prologue, an extra year was spent on optimizing the game, so they likely won’t have to do that again this time around. in a q&a, they said it shouldn’t take as long to release as it did the last time around, so i think it’s safe to assume it should take around a year to a year and a half? not trying to get your hopes up since it can’t be confirmed, but it shouldn’t take two years like last time(which was already very impressive in my opinion)
Honestly I kind of hate the pathos route mechanic. On top of missing out on gameplay elements like grace's rebuttle, it feels so unnatrual and out of character for Damon and not in a good or intretsing way. And both pathos routes have been far less intresting then the logic routes so far...
IM TRYING TO FIND THE CLOSING ARGUEMENT OF THIS
THERES DIFFERENT ROUTES???
One ending but multiple trial routes
