The problem with bonuses is that they seem to be taxes more than regular income so many don’t use them for 401k. What the government does is very unfair.
A golf cart is the only thing I’m gonna need….and maybe a bass boat. 😜 I agree with you….id have a lot more in the 401 if I hadn’t panicked at certain points. I tell young folks I work with….DONT TOUCH IT!
When do you quit contributing to your retirement accounts? I'm 58 and sitting pretty good financially. New retirement software says I have a 99 percent of retiring successfully at 57 and a half. I'm going to retire at 60 and thinking about diverting any extra funds I have from my paycheck over to a high yield savings account.

Not a bad idea, as long as you are comfortable with what you have saved in the retirement account
