Well... That was surprising and unpredictable. First you begin talk so low and tentative, look like a very shy and innocent little bunny... Then you begin to play that wonderful ancient instrument, and your soul shines through everything with that far away but unstoppable flame. That was a real wonder rare to see.
I heard so called master hurdi gurdi players. This girl beat all commers hands down. That coming from a bluegrass Banjo player, Guitar and keyboard man of Irish heritage. Excellent sounds, tempo and tuning.
Wow, you're amazing! I would love to learn how to play the hurdygurdy! It's a new goal I want to set in my life.. I hope one day I can spread the same magic like you can :) Thanks for the video
Der er ihvertfald brugt østligtlydende skalaer i stor stil. Mit gæt vil være harmonisk mol Great video, and great playing! The Hurdy Gurdy is wonderful!
Well, she blows everybody away with her playing, absolutely astonishing! It sounds so much like middle eastern music. Does this instrument play quarter notes?
I was intrigued by the long intro to the first piece. It reminded me of the long intros sometimes heard in Flamenco. I would research it myself, but I have no idea what the first piece is. I would be interested and grateful to hear if anyone knows.
It is true that the harmonic scale was more widely used in Europe, for folk music. Even medieval Viking music used that scale. The scale is what makes the music sound "exotic", however it was already common in Europe. It was actually classical music that made it less common.
That's incredible i would love to have you play on some songs on my album Thank you very much; does any body know where to get a starter H.G. or a affordable one I've seen one at mountian music in Clayton Ga but was in disrepair
you are now my new, fake, internet girlfriend. your trompettes are delicate, yet agrressive enough. your, I always forget the name, the four areas of your right arm, are perfect. your playfulness is delightful, and your knowledge of your modes and alternate scales is self evident. bravo.
Not so sure about that, a lot of audience members actually like to see the 'maintenance', as it were, of an unusual instrument like this. You will often see guitar and violin soloists, for example, retuning their instruments between numbers.
Hurdy Gurdy er et fantastisk udtryksfuldt instrument og er her spillet med virituositet. Mærkelig melodi. Hvad mon det er. Klassisk? Folkemusik? indisk?
I remain impressed by the talent and dignity of this performance.
Heard a lot of Hurdy Gurdy playing over five decades - this stands head and shoulders above the rest! Astonishing and wonderful !
Tobie Miller, based in Basel - I was at a recital by her last night with only 20 in the audience, what a privilege!
That is some fantastic Hurdy Gurdy playing. Heck it just plain fantastic music playing. Thank you.
What a nobleness of instrument !! all what can I say is... Bravo !!
Utterly delightful. You are most wonderfully gifted and devoted to your instrument. Such a joy to listen to and watch. THANK YOU!

Wonderful
The "wow" factor is very high in this one
I'm in love
Very beautiful HurdyGurdy!. I recommend you listen to "Himno Gallego (solo de zanfona) por Eloy Vázquez" played with his hurdy-gurdy.
Most amazing.
I have just realised she is controlling the dog, not by velocity, but by twisting her right wrist as she does the rotation.
Not sure I like the particular tune but she is without doubt an absolute master of the vielle a roue!
Wonderful 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
the frisson is full-body with this one!
simply awesome...
Magnificent.
Потрясающий темперамент!
the celts came from central europe and certain celtic tribes migrated to galatia in the 3rd century BC, not vice versa
Beautiful sounding instrument. Who made it?
Tu es vraiment impressionnante!!
Well, she blows everybody away with her playing, absolutely astonishing!
It sounds so much like middle eastern music. Does this instrument play quarter notes?
Yes, you can bend the notes by pushing the buttons variably hard
I love you !
excelente!!
gänsehaut, richtig gut
Great. I like Nigel Eaton, Andrei Vinogradov, Paty Gurdy, Piotr Novotnik, But I don't know your name.
I was intrigued by the long intro to the first piece. It reminded me of the long intros sometimes heard in Flamenco. I would research it myself, but I have no idea what the first piece is. I would be interested and grateful to hear if anyone knows.
God's blood that must be beastly to tune!
Also maintaining it and adjusting everything so it works is a chore.
It has such an, I don't know, I guess medieval sound.
Middle eastern.
@@marcollano5917 Both!
I want one! Where can I buy it?
I love the Hurdy Gurdy. Sure has a funny name, though. (:->)
In spain Zanfona and in Scandinavia Drejelira. The french call it Viel en rue
Not precisely - in French it's Vielle à roue
interestingly, the middle eastern influence is meant to come from european crusades in the middle east during medieval times
@Nachtjager - you really can express yourself so that it reflects who you are!

I can imagine this fitting right in with some Rimbetica players.
Could you please inform who is the maker of your hurdy gurdy?
