I caught the worse anxiety , and break into sweats watching this. This patient didn’t even complain Woww . I had 3 c_ sections having my children , and for some reason epidurals traumatized me omg . Thank you for sharing this with us , I finally see how it’s done .
@@abhinavverma2077that was epidural catheter, not spinal catheter.. surgery was started in spinal anesthesia, then in the middle of surgery when spinal effects were going, drug was given in epidural catheter (you can see it in the last part of the video) so catheter is always placed before, in case surgery duration exceeds 3 hours
Procedure done and explained really up to the mark. Just one thing to correct is light. Someone's (definately medical staff) shadow is ruined some parts of video.
just a suggestion. why dont you perform a CSE (combined spinal epidural) to avoid 2 injections especially if youre doing a lumbar epidural. I notice that you were in a difficult position to do the spinal. your patient cohort in asia are normally thin so it is easy to identify the interverterbral space. if you come to the UK you would be lucky to get a patient less than a BMI of 30. you dont need special equipment. You perform an epidural and through the touhey needle you insert a long spinal needle, get csf and inject local. You then remove the spinal needle but leave the epidural needle in place.you then thread the catheter. this has to be done quickly if using heavy marcaine especially for labour. let me know if this was useful.

When I was 16 and had part of my right lung removed they put in an epidural for pain relief. I was sitting hunched over on the operating room table with only the anesthesiologist within arms length of me as I stared down at the floor. At one point I yelped and while still hunched forward I realized my IV drugs were going in and I was about to land face first on the floor. Thankfully I was able to literally throw my head and shoulder to the side and my body slammed down HARD on the table. I saved my face and their asses that day.
no GA involves whole system, so side effects can also come in any system.. but regional anesthesia (epidural/spinal) only involves a particular area, hence less complications but but but only if the patient is comfortable (patient's choice is the most important thing)
the needle could get obstructed passing through tissues without a continuous inside pressure (liquid or gaseous mandrin). You then could get a false negative, thinking to be still in the ligaments cause the plugged needle, and then keep going on piercing the dura. It's not as safe a method as the classic constant pressure on the syringe plunger.

For one hv fear of needle like me, it appears nightmarish, but for surgery when it was given to me, I did not feel the slightest pain..just felt something cold entering my body.
Can somebody explain to me why they insert two pins. I had my operation before and i remember they inserted a long pin at my lower back. Now I am watching the whole process and im too weak watching it. Anyway good job doctors.

how many ml of NS 0,9% do you need to infuse during surgery to make sure all the anesthetic drug you give, reaches the epidural space?
We typically give 10-20ml bolus. But we can also run continuously at about 10ml/hr of dilute solution for pain control.
I had three last month just like this way and also lying on my tummy I was in so much pain. This injection did not help me at all

simply pushing air through syringe, to check press resistance, why can't you use saline solution for it???
Saline will confuse you if you puncture dura,but its good alternative.

Tuohy needle gives direction to your catheter.Bevel is up , catheter will go cephalad.
